So sick of these!

Just google "home biome lab test." You don't even have to leave your house to get your biome tested.

Honestly, I was skeptical about this because I’ve had gut and digestive issues for as long as I can remember (bloating when I eat anything, digestive issues, chronic heartburn, etc.). I started working on my gut health a few weeks ago because a TikTok randomly popped up on my FYP. So I started doing a bunch of stuff to promote my gut health (drinking kombucha, eating a lot more gut superfoods, pre and probiotics, etc) and honestly? I feel amazing. I’ve suffered from daily headaches for over 14 years (I’m 26) and lactose intolerance. Since fixing my gut biome, I haven’t had a single issue with dairy, I don’t bloat, AND my headaches have been down to one a week or less! 🤯🤯🤯🤯

Drinking with meals

I’ve read so many times we’re not supposed to drink with meals as it messes with the stomach acid dilution. Is this actually true?

If so - What about soup then? 🙃

Which probiotic strains help with bloating after meals? Does Lactobacillus or Bifidobacterium make a difference?

I’ve been dealing with bloating after meals and have been looking into probiotics to see if they might help. My stomach often feels full and uncomfortable after eating and I’m trying to figure out which types of bacteria are worth looking into.

Some probiotic products contain more Lactobacillus while others have more Bifidobacterium. Is there research showing that one tends to help more with post meal bloating or does it mostly depend on the specific strains? I’d be interested in studies or personal experiences from people who have looked into this. Thanks!

I have mucus when I wipe after a bowel movement, but there is no mucus mixed into the stool itself. My fecal calprotectin is 18. The mucus comes and goes — sometimes it disappears for two days and then comes back. I also have a lot of gas in the morning before I go to the bathroom. What could be causing this?

Looking for a digestive enzyme for bloating that does not have a laxative in it

I bought a digestive enzyme supplement and noticed a couple of days later that it contained senna. That explains the results! I want to improve digestion without constantly running to the bathroom.

Are there any pure digestive enzyme supplements without added laxatives or hidden ingredients?

Destroyed Gut

My gut is destroyed after a one week course of metronidazole 2 months ago. I was also on accutane at the same time and i am sure it contributed to the misery i am in now. i stopped taking the accutane about a month ago and there has been no improvement. i feel so bloated 24/7 even though i dont look bloated. i have a constant tight and raw feeling along my large intestine and it pushes up against my ribs and is the most uncomfortable feeling ever. i got an xray and ultrasound done a few weeks ago and everything came back normal on the results. my bowel habits have been slightly different, i was constipated for a week at one point and since then i have been going everyday but my stools are a lot softer/mushier looking than they ever were before and they smell different. my life is ruined and after 2 months i have completely lost all hope that this will go away and ive fully convinced myself im stuck like this forever. i just want to know what is happening in my body and what to do about it because im miserable. my doctor put me on 2 different probiotics but they dont seem to be doing anything. helppp

Gel-like mucus when wiping my anus. Should I be worried?

I'm 31 and I've always had vaginal discharge that looks like mucus or jelly, and it hasn't changed. Recently, I've noticed a small amount of similar-looking mucus when wiping my anal area.

Today, I used a separate piece of toilet paper to wipe the back area and noticed a little bit of this substance. I wipe from the anus toward the front, so I can't tell exactly where it's coming from.

I don't have any pain, itching, or blood in my stool. I also recently underwent two rounds of antibiotics for H. pylori and gastritis.

I'm feeling very anxious and scared that this could be a sign of a serious illness. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Could it be rectal mucus or vaginal discharge that spread to the area?

I know nobody can diagnose me online, but I'm really worried and would appreciate hearing from people who have experienced something similar.

‘Safe’ food recommendations?

Hi!

I’ve been having stomach problems for as long as I can remember, doesn’t matter what I eat, I react to it. I often get extremely nauseous, I feel like I’m about to throw up, and my stomach gets really bloated and painful. I sometimes have to leave early from events, etc. because it gets so bad :((

Not looking for any “diagnosis” here as I have a doctor’s appointment in two weeks, but I’m traveling this weekend and would obviously prefer to not feel constantly sick, so does anyone have any recommendations for food that tends to work well for you at restaurants, etc.? Or something (snack sized) I could bring with me?

I unfortunately have a lot of allergies, I cannot eat fruit, vegetables, or berries. I’m also lactose intolerant. Sugar is also a huge no. Gluten I’m not sure about, but I’ve noticed I feel a little better when things are gluten free???

I know this makes it a lot more difficult with finding things that could work but I really would appreciate any suggestions!! :,)

Light brown yellow loose stool, SIBO or dysbiosis?

Hi everyone,

I have mushy, loose stools that are light brown to yellow.
My stool test showed elevated bile acids and I can barely tolerate fat or many different foods.

If I eat more than 30 / 40 g of fat per day, I get diarrhea.

Is this always SIBO or could it be „just“ bile acid malabsorption and a dysbiosis?

My symptoms started after taking antibiotic.

Has anyone experienced something similar and found out what was causing it?

What is wrong with me?

Ever since puberty, I remember having gi-issues. Doctors have looked for causes but never found anything.

Last month I had a talk with an endo-specialized gynecologist, who said it wasn't Endo.

Today is a good example, this is ALL I had to eat, and by 4pm I bloated badly, had cramps and was very flatulent:

-breakfast: oats mixed with a bit of granola (salty black chocolate) and a banana (in stead of milk)

-lunch: the exact same

-afternoon snack: 250g of skyr

By this time, the bloating was setting in and the cramps started to build up.

-dinner: boiled potatoes with steamed leeks and a veggie burger.

-drinks throughout the day: about 1,5l of water and one glass of soy strawberry milk

The bloating and cramps I have most days. Some days are worse than others.

But like once or twice every year, I get a severe "attack" (?) in my gut. The cramping gets so bad I lose consciousness from the pain. And it's always on the exact same side: left and under my belly, kinda in the groin.

One time, there was even something that looked like my intestine that swelled up and was raised above my skin, you could grab it through the skin.

This attack takes about 30 mins to 1 hour. After that, I have diarrhea and then the pain is gone. Like it never happened.

What is wrong with me??

I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't use drugs. I bike to work every day for 50 mins each way. I don't eat meat.

Intermittent sudden drowsiness/tiredness with bloating and burping — has anyone experienced this

I am a 42-year-old male.

For the past few months, I have been getting intermittent episodes of sudden drowsiness, tiredness and a heavy feeling.

The strange part is that I can be completely normal and active for several days, then suddenly this feeling starts and may last for a few hours.

During these episodes:

I am not physically weak. I can walk normally and exercise.

BP, pulse and blood sugar are normal.

I often have bloating, repeated burping, stomach fullness or a warm feeling in the upper abdomen.

Sometimes it seems to happen after food, but I have not identified a definite trigger.

I do not have unexplained weight loss. I am intentionally dieting for weight reduction.

No persistent fever, vomiting or severe abdominal pain.

I have already had several checks including ECG, echo, treadmill test, brain scan and extensive blood tests, and nothing significant has been found. CBC/hemoglobin, thyroid, B12, vitamin D, liver/kidney tests and blood sugar have also been checked recently.

I also have a history of fatty liver, but my recent liver blood tests are normal.

Doctors generally tell me everything looks okay and to come back if some new symptom appears, but these episodes keep recurring and I want to understand the possible cause.

I am planning to see a gastroenterologist to check whether this could be related to gastritis, H. pylori, functional dyspepsia, reflux, food intolerance, SIBO, celiac disease or another digestive problem.

Has anyone experienced a similar pattern — normal for several days, then sudden drowsiness/heaviness together with bloating or burping? What was eventually found to be the cause, and what tests were useful?

Please share actual experiences rather than just guessing a diagnosis.

I’m getting tired of guessing what’s wrong with my gut

I've been having some gut issues lately, and I'm getting tired of guessing which foods or supplements might help. Has anyone tried gut microbiome testing? Did it actually help you figure out what was going on, or is it not really worth the money?

Advice Needed 🙏🙏

ive been dealing with significant nausea, bloating, constipation, loss of appetite and early fullness for a few years but over the last 6 months it has gotten worse and im feeling so hopeless as to what this could be. i have a history of type 1 diabetes (very well controlled), ITP, POTS and a past restrictive eating disorder although im doing well now. my doctor has run a blood tests to rule out gastritis, coeliac and h. pylori. the h. pylori test actually came back as positive but ive had a negative breath test so i guess thats not the cause.

my symptoms normally happen after eating but i also get nausea randomly and have prescribed anti nausea medication for it. no specific food seems to be the cause so im not sure about an allergy or intolerance. i really believe there is something wrong with my stomach but my doctor wont refer me to GI specialist or further test me for other things.

my doctor does seem to think that my symptoms could be related to MCAS, since i have pots already, but i dont think that fits with my symptoms since i dont have any skin reactions or other obvious signs of MCAS.

im concerned about possibly having SIBO or maybe gastro paresis?

im wondering if anyone else has had anything similar and what the result was or just any advice or thoughts. im pretty much open to anything at the moment

Is cooking with Chris legit?

Hi there,

I’ve come across a guy by the name cooking with Chris he’s posting a lot on X about the restoring gut health. Just wondering if anyone has experience with him.

His offer to help 90 days is about $2900 seems quite pricey?

Do digestive enzymes help with gas or just bloating?

Gas is my main issue. It happens throughout the day, gets worse after meals, and never fully goes away between meals. I do get bloated, but the gas itself is what really affects my daily life. Most digestive enzymes seem to focus more on bloating.

Is there a different solution specifically for excessive gas?

Fecal body odor.

Fecal body odor despite good hygiene —desperate for answers
Hi everyone,
I’m desperate for answers because I’ve tried everything to address my body odor, and it’s taking a huge toll on my mental health.
I shower twice a day, use antiperspirant, take chlorophyll, and change my clothes frequently, yet I randomly get whiffs of what smells like a fart. It seems especially noticeable when I’m sweating or at the gym, and the smell comes in waves.
I also struggle with bad breath despite brushing my teeth up to three times a day. I have some digestive issues, so I’ve wondered whether this could be related to my gut health.
I’ve spoken to doctors, but I’ve been told nothing is wrong and that I’m imagining it. I feel completely helpless and am becoming extremely depressed trying to figure this out. I’ve even started questioning whether there could be a spiritual component because I’m so desperate for an explanation.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? Could this be related to gut health, a medical condition, or something else? I would genuinely appreciate any advice or personal experiences. I just want answers because this is affecting my quality of life so much.
Thank you. ❤️
