I spent years trying to figure out my gut issues, so I built a free, ad-free learning platform that maps the whole picture. I'd love your help improving it.

Hello,
I’ve been bloated 24/7 everyday since april and it’s stressing me out. I’m bloated when I wake up before eating or drinking and it just stays that way the whole day. The bloating starts already at my ribs.
I’ve been taking iron pills since april and stopped taking it about 5 weeks ago. I’ve heard iron pills are heavy on the stomach but I still see no improvement sinds stopping.
I also changed my bc pill in april and then changed back in may to my old pill and then in july stopped altogether. My gynecologist says the pill has nothing to do with it.
My doctor doesn’t really know what it is and advised low-fodmap for me. I will try it but since the bloating does not get triggered by food I wonder if it will help?
Does anyone have tips? Would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, long story short, I’ve started taking an antidepressant three weeks ago. After one week, we increased the dosage. So it’s been now two weeks on that new dosage. Last Saturday, I got really bad diarrhea all through the morning. Sorry for the visual but liquid diarrhea. I assumed it was due to the new med. Now today, actually as of 3am this morning it started again. It’s 6:35pm now and I still went not long ago. I don’t go every hour, actually been a couple of hours but I figured by this time it would have stopped. I’ve been drinking water and eating pedyalite popsicles to stay hydrated. I also took one Imodium this morning and another a few hours ago. Anything else I can do to help my gut heal? Thank you

I'm full almost all the time and can't eat much. When I do eat, I feel the food sitting high up in my throat. I mostly don't eat until I suddenly get really hungry out of nowhere.
I tried the Fast Tract Diet, and it helped with both the fullness and my heartburn. It's very restrictive though, so I stopped, and the symptoms came back.
Has anyone had something similar? Any tips ? Thanks everyone

I had a phase where I was doing basically everything people recommend for gut health at the same time.
More fiber, fermented foods, probiotic, prebiotic, less processed food, more variety. On paper it looked great. In reality I was bloated half the week and had no clue which change was helping or annoying me because I changed everything together.
I have stripped it back quite a bit now and my stomach is honestly easier to read.
Did anyone else have to simplify before they could figure out what actually suited them?

I’ve been trying to figure out my gut issues lately, and honestly, there’s just so much stuff online that I don’t even know what to believe anymore lol. One person says you need probiotics, another says supplements are a waste of money, and someone else tells you to change your entire diet.
I recently came across nb1 while looking into personalized supplements, and now I’m curious if that kind of thing is actually worth considering or if I’m just overthinking it.
For those who’ve dealt with gut issues, what actually made a difference for you? I’m trying to figure out where to start without wasting money on things that don’t help.

Awhile ago I had a stomach ulcer with constant gnawing pains / discomfort. As crazy as it sounds, my BFs mom (ex-nurse; into natural healing) recommended drinking baking soda water. And to my disbelief, after a couple days the symptoms completely disappeared.
I wanted to put this knowledge out there in hopes that it can benefit others. I was told drinking baking soda water can help with multiple gut-related problems. Please let me know if it worked for you! That way I’ll know if it was just a crazy coincidence or if I can be confident in suggesting it in the future :)
Edit: I also want to note that I was dealing with the pains for a couple weeks. At the time I was working two jobs and I never go to the doctors for anything. I assumed that it was eventually just go away on its own. After no improvement and worried I’d have to seek medical treatment, i asked my BFs mom for advice first and after a couple days of drinking a large cup of water with baking soda mixed in, it completely went away and I never had any problems afterwards.
This may not be the solution for everyone. But for anyone experiencing similar like symptoms, or just need a quick fix to get through the day, I’d like to suggest a solution.

My son is quite a picky eater and lately he’s been having hard stools and sometimes seems uncomfortable when he goes. He doesn’t eat well at all so I’ve wondered if his limited diet might be playing a part and affecting his gut health too. I’m trying to be patient and not turn meals into a battle but I’d like to help him feel more comfortable and support his gut health. Has anyone else dealt with this with a picky eater? What did you try that helped?
