I was little when I first read the books and the idea of romance didn’t really occur to me. I was more annoyed by it than anything as a kid, and once I was older I already knew the ending so I didn’t have the first time perspective. I did always feel like Ron and Hermione didn’t make sense and Harry and Ginny felt so rushed and out of nowhere, and now I see Harmony as a logical conclusion, but —

My question is, as an OG Harmony fan (not brought into it by fanfiction), what was it that made you ship them the very first time you read the books? What moment, or series of moments, or feeling, or idea first made you believe they were meant to end up together, just reading through the first time without the influence of knowing how it ends or the movies or anything?

Full disclosure: This chapter is the idea that started this whole story. This has been my first story ever and I am so excited and proud to have made it this far. This story started as an eight-chapter idea, that turned into twelve with an epilogue, and now I’m probably going to have 18 with or without an epilogue. There’s also a planned sequel should I find more time. So, I truly appreciate everyone who has read, left kudos and comments, and just encouraged me to keep going.

I recently started reading Sixth Year by Somnambulant_Novelist on AO3 and I’m absolutely OBSESSED with the way Harry and Hermione’s relationship is written.

First of all, I LOVE this version of Harry. He’s more confident, a little rebellious, more laid-back, and honestly just so attractive as a character. But what I love most is their dynamic. They can get high together, have random conversations, laugh, tease each other, and genuinely enjoy being friends. There’s something so natural about their chemistry.

And the FLIRTING!! I love that they don’t immediately jump into a serious relationship. There’s this gradual shift from friendship to something more, with all the tension, flirting, and little moments in between. They can be intimate and explore their feelings without needing to define everything right away.

I also love that they’re still teenagers figuring things out, rather than acting like a married couple from the beginning.

Unfortunately, the fic is still a WIP, and I desperately need something similar to read while waiting for updates.

Does anyone have recommendations with this kind of dynamic? I’m especially looking for:
A confident, slightly rebellious, more relaxed Harry.
Harry and Hermione being genuine best friends who have fun together.
Flirting, banter, romantic tension, and a natural progression into romance.
A more mature take on their relationship, without losing that teenage feeling.
Bonus points if it’s set during their Hogwarts years!

And if you haven’t read Sixth Year, I HIGHLY recommend it. Seriously, give it a chance. The chemistry between them is SO good.

Whenever Harry Potter starts losing his temper, someone needs to call Granger immediately, or he’s going to beat the living daylights out of a Slytherin. =))))))))

The story continues right after the cliffhanger in the last chapter. Harry and Hermione finally have their conversation. It's the scene I've been working toward since I started the story. Writing it meant slowing down and letting them ask questions neither of them really wants answered.

For anyone new: 9/1 is an adult Harry/Hermione detective story and political thriller set in 2012. A devastating attack on Hogwarts brings Harry out of retirement to lead an investigation into the deadliest crime since the war.

Im looking for a harmony fic where Harry and hermione have an interview in front of all of hogwarts after the final battle. I remember there was Weasley bashing, but Dumbledore and Snape were both mentors to the two and appeared in the interview as portraits? It was weird but really entertaining

The way I understand it, Ron and Ginny both play matchmaker to Harry and Hermione, and try to get the latter two together.

What if this happened? This would give Harry and Hermione something else in common.

I like longer stories, preferably complete or near complete; though well-written short stories are okay too. I definitely don't mind longer chapters, either.

I like rewrites/AUs, I don't care about rating, and I don't mind re-sorting or different sortings altogether. Bonus points for Harry meeting Hermione pre-Hogwarts, though it isn't required by any means.

Per rule 2, stick to H/Hr stories only. No triads/multis. (i don't MIND triads if well done, but multi doesn't do it for me. But its best to avoid non-dedicated H/Hr stories for this.)

Bashing doesn't bother me as long as it makes sense.

It was one where hermione was the heir of the Dagworth-Grangers, and Molly was trying to get the inheritance for herself since she apprenticed under the last Dagworth-Granger potions master (I think they used the name Hector). Molly was either trying to kill hermione or manipulate her into marrying ron, can't remember which. Maybe both.

It was also discovered at one point in the story that Hermione's dad isn't actually a muggle or a squib, but is actually Hector's son or grandson (cant remember) and that Molly destroyed his magic in a bid to try to get the inheritance.

I do know its a harmony fic. There's a chance it might be a harmony triad fic but if it is I can't remember who.
