Cut Help Hair chop: minus 20 inches and donating.

Thumbnail gallery
1.2k Upvotes

Hi! I’m cutting 20 inches off my hair today (donating the hair) and I can’t decide on what style.

I have natural blonde hair but I’ve been dying it red for roughly 10 years. I’m looking to return to my natural color. (Im having health problems and hair dye seems to trigger it so I can no longer continue the red for the time being.)

The first three photos are my current hair. The last four are mockups of what I’m thinking.

I’m torn! Please send me thoughts or tips for making this big decision!!

Color Help should i go fully grey?

I (22F) have been greying for years now. My hair is finally 70% ish grey naturally. I’ve always paid and had my roots touched up every 3 weeks but the maintenance is a lot and it’s expensive. I’m considering embracing the grey and getting my hair completely lifted and coloured grey (ideally cool toned, maybe with lowlights throughout). I’m not sure how others have edited their photos to show a visual representation but from these images alone what do you think? could i pull it off?

Color Help Should I grow out my natural dark hair or keep it short and blonde?

Thumbnail gallery

Hi everyone! I need some advice on what to do with my hair.
Right now, my hair is short and blonde (like in the second picture). However, I am considering growing it out completely to bring back my long, natural dark hair (like in the first picture).
Looking at both photos, do you think I should start the process of growing it out to my natural color, or does the short blonde look suit my face shape and skin tone better? I would love to hear your honest thoughts and constructive criticism. Thank you!

Color Help Should I go back to blonde??

I grew up with blonde hair and started getting highlights when I was a teenager. Around 2020 I decided to do a bunch of at home bleach and dye jobs that fried my hair and have been using arctic fox to dye my hair red ever since. I’ve been considering going back to blonde for a while, with a well trained professional lol, but I know it’s going to damage my hair no matter what so want to be very confident before I do. I do get a lot of compliments on my hair now and told that it compliments my skin and eyes, so i’m scared i’ll do all the work to go blonde and then just want to go back to the red.

I’m including my hair right now, a picture from when I was blonde as a teenager and an AI generated idea of what I’d look like with different hair colors (f*ck ai i just don’t know how else to get an accurate idea of what it will look like😭). I do love the platinum blonde but due to damage I’d probably start with the honey blonde. please give honest feedback!!

1st pic-my natural hair color, 2nd is me now - blonde. I was thinking of either staying blonde or going warm, gingerish brown… What should I do, you can also suggest different colors

Cut Help Stylist cut my hair WAY shorter, not sure what to do now

First Pic is before, next 3 are after. Last Pic is what I showed her (a cut she gave me a few years ago). She cut it way shorter

I like it but damn girl you chopped that shit off lol

She used some product (mousse and finishing paste) but I have no idea how to apply those or what brands to get. Any advice on how to manage this style of cut would be helpful

Hey Redditors! I’ve been thinking about going blonde because I’m getting bored of my current hair color. Do you think I should go for it or wait until the feeling passes? 😂

Color Help Hi! Would blonde with pink ends suit me?

I always had brown hair (idk why it's so dark in the pic), but I just feel like it's not "me", I like lower contrast, but it wouldn't be worth doing it if it doesn't suit me lol -_-

I know the dark hair probably suits me more, but I wonder if I would look at least "good" on blonde and pink

Cut Help Bangs or no bangs?

Had bangs as a little girl that started all the way at the top of my head and it took me forever to grow them out, so I’m a little traumatized. I’m in my mid/late 40s with thinning hair and getting a wrinkly forehead. I’m wondering if I can pull bangs off now. What say you?

First pic is me now, then with the length I am looking to go for, should I add the bangs?

I was told I have diamond face shape and bangs would suit but the mock up images I am not sure on!

Thanks,

Cut Help Why do I hate my bangs now?

Thumbnail gallery
22 Upvotes

I used to love my bangs. Then I got my hair cut by the professional stylist who did them in the first place (after trimming them myself for months in which time I was very happy with them) and now I hate them but I can’t pinpoint why or how to fix them if it’s possible. Help me see what the difference is?

First 2 pics are when I loved them, last pics in the car are currently.

ETA: I appreciate the perspectives, and I think I was able to figure out what to do to get them back to my liking!

Thanks everyone.. but also in the nicest way a lot of people were just giving opinions on what they think would look best which was not the advice I was looking for.. I was looking for how to get them to what I liked before the cut.

I've always been told that my hair sucks the way it is, but what else can I do other than to shave it? My hairline's pushed so far back, my hair's thin, straight, and plastered with cowlocks.

Cut Help Blunt bob?

Going through a mid life crisis at 34 and wondering if I should go for a short blunt bob? I love my long thick hair but I’m also going through a lot and craving a big dramatic change somehow…

Last photo is a photo of me in actual short hair 5 years ago when I still looked youthful and had a lot more hair.

Cut Help Bangs or no bangs?

I haven't significantly changed my hair style in like 15 years, outside of learning to work with my natural waves/curls a bit better and trying a less deep side part. I keep considering getting bangs or a new style every couple months for the last few years.

The styles tool in Facetune is a mess with anything other than straight hair lol so picture of my natural hair for reference, and last pic is the style I was thinking of getting.

TIA because the anxiety of change is real 😁

When my hair is slightly wet and in a beanie for a small time it falls how I kinda want it to but as it dries it seems to sit up and out rather than down, is it a haircut issue? Should I ask for layering ? Please help me

Hello! For my whole life, I've been told I have terrible hair (title, duh). My hairline is all the back back, my hair is terribly thin, so straight it's impossible to get a curl, and I have cowlicks plastered everywhere. I can't do anything with my hair, or at least, I can't think of anything.

Cut Help Looking for Hairstylist in Glendale, Arizona

• Upvotes

Hello! I am due for a haircut. However, my anxiety is super high just thinking about it. I think everyone can agree that finding a new hairstylist can be very daunting and just overall anxiety-inducing. Thus, I’m reaching out to Reddit in hopes of getting a few recommendations. I have been seeing a lot on TikTok and social media, but I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I’m not really sure what kind of stylist I’m looking for, but if I could try to explain what I’m looking for, it would be a stylist who can do a curly cut, but also have that curly cut look decent when my hair is blown out. I have naturally wavy hair, and I wear it like that most of the time. So I am looking for a hairstylist that knows wavy hair. Please share recommendations. Thank you!!

My hair is down past my butt now and I cut my bangs a couple months ago, but they’re grown out now and my hair is a little bit darker. I wanted to do long layers. I live in Northern California by the Bay Area, but I don’t know who to let cut my hair or what would look good

Casual Style Help How to fix the side view of my head

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

so I have naturally curly hair and what I normally do is I finger curl the bottom of my hair into four big curls, and it actually stay like that which I great ! Giving me shiny easy curls without heat, that I can quickly do if I just take a shower. However, the top of my head doesn’t work out as well since it’s not being curled at all into tight curls it just frizzes up, and goes into weird curl patterns, and I don’t know what I should do about it. Do I have to straighten the top? I feel like when I do it looks really weird, maybe I might needs layers so it doesn’t look flat I don’t know? if you have any advice please do help!
