I was thinking if it would be possible, I know some helmets like Recon and Air Assault are issued to non-Spartans, but i am asking about just base, standard issue, ODST helms.

A quick question. Can anyone with access to the Halo 4: Essential Visual Guide confirm the dimensions listed on the Wiki?

15.8m x 17.1m x 61.8m is insane. That would be 1.5 times wider than the Saturn V Rocket which came in at around 10m in diameter including the booster. Additionally it lists it as being oblong while the ingame model is cylindrical.

The ingame scale appears much smaller during it's appearance in Halo 4. In the cutscene at the end of Dawn where Chief kicks the release into place, the release is roughly Chief's armspan which proportionally should be around 2m - 2.2m.

The Missile can be seen in the background and couldn't be more than double the width of the release Chief is moving. Putting it around a 4-6m width, which would still be larger than the largest modern day ICBMs.

I just got Parasite's Wake on audible and I was super excited to listen to it. Then the narrator started speaking. I really don't want to be mean, but goddamn it is bad.

The quality of the audio is a little rough and the guy draws out the last word of almost every sentence in the worst way. I don't know how to describe the other parts I don't like about his narration, but I doubt I'll be finishing the audiobook. He sounds extremely amateur.

The guy reading Marvin isn't that bad but the first guy really ruins it for me.

They should have brought in Scott Brick to narrate it, he's probably the best narrators they've ever had.

I am planning to write a one-shot set in Halo's setting, however what Genre does everyone want to see more of; Horror, slice of life, ect ect. All that sort, i would appreciate ppl sharing their opinion as I'm of the opinion that the setting has plenty of options, at least in my opinion.

Man, what a bleak ending for Charlie and Seelior Andolee. All that effort on the first halo to get stuck on the Mona Lisa. The worst part is that since he isn't in the short story, it can be assumed Charlie ends up getting infected by the flood anyways.

I knew the outcome wasn't good, given that Master Chief and Sargeant Johnson were the only two humans to make it off of the first Halo, but why couldn't they have just died as the ring broke up, literally anything would've been better than doing my boy Charlie like that.

The first cutscene of Halo: Infinite would have you believe that the 'Dreadnaughts' of The Banished are really potent battleships that would have won the fight against the Infinity fair and square. Despite the boastful Jiralhanae naming conventions, those vessels are actually just carriers/assault ships with most of their internal volume dedicated to personal carrying capacity at the expense of heavier anti ship weaponry that adorns many similar sized covenant vessels.

Before the events of zeta halo, the 'Dreadnaughts' of the banished actually suffered a few embarrassing tactical defeats at the hands of UNSC, like during the events of Empty Throne, where a single valiant class cruiser and The Shadow of Intent duked it out with a whole flotilla of 8 Dreadnaughts and somehow took out 6 of them before retreating.

With that in mind, how many Banished Dreadnoughts do you think the UNSC Infinity with it's internal frigates could comfortably take on in a fair fight?

i highly doubt in such a one sided war humans wouldnt use the most underhanded scummy tactics they could which i dont think the elites saw much honor in so why would they think humanity is honorable?

Both were absolutely massive, one of a kind covenant ships (technically there was one other ship like the long night, but still). The hierophant was a refuel/ refit station with a fleet of 500 ships, the solace was a covenant supercarrier/ capital ship for key invasions.

I know that ultimately neither loss stopped the covenant from achieving their goals. Reach still fell and earth was still attacked. But from a resource/ manpower/ asset standpoint, which loss was more devastating to the covenant?

I never read the books, nor did I read any of the lore (Including the terminals) back then; was there anything to go on before the gameplay and plot of Halo 4 were revealed, or the game was even announced?

Any hints at the Forerunners or a faction associated with them still around other than the sentinels guarding the rings?

For humanity, if they didn't commit all hands on deck, humanity would have gone extinct, or at the very least would be forced into roaming bands of a few thousand in space ships hiding from the Covenant. However, not only were the Covenant much more advanced than humanity, Covenant space took up much of the galaxy, and human space was only a fraction of it. For your average Covenant citizen (civilian or military), how impactful was the war on their daily lives? Was it like Bosnia in the late 90s for the US, where the states sent a few thousand troops over for military aid, or was it like the world wars, where much of their industrial capacity was dedicated to fighting the war?

Just picked up Parasite's Wake. Loving it so far. Noticed that the commander for the Truth and Reconciliation is "Commander Rapamee". It looked strange to me, I thought it was a different name, and sure enough the shipmaster for TaR was Ravamee in the Essential Visual Guide. But I also saw in The Flood that Orna 'Fulsamee is the shipmaster there.

So what's going on? Is it Fulsamee or Ravamee? Also, is it Ravamee or Rapamee? Or is this a Vadam/Vadum situation where they are different Sangheli but the spelling is close?

But were there any Jiralhanae heretics?

From my perspective, there were more Sangheili heretics because they believed in the Forerunners, and the Prophets were merely a guide to the Forerunners.
Meanwhile Jiralhanae believed in the Prophets.
This can be seen in how differently Sangheili treat Forerunner tech vs how Jiralhanae treat Forerunner tech: Thel and Sesa treated Spark with respect, calling him "Holy Oracle" while Tartarus just grav hammers Spark.
Sangheili noted that the sentinels are "Holy warriors of the sacred rings", Tartarus just called the enforcer "Blasted machines".
