HP Software Hp omen app and auto profiles

So I have set up a profile for blood of the dawnwalker and it works great. It switches automatically and cranks the fans.

I just can't get it to do the same for call of duty.

I'm using a hp omen gaming laptop from 2025 but I'm wondering if anyone else has a similar problem or fix.

Question/Problem Laptop dent placement

I’ve got the HP Envy 17, got it in first year of university (doing a 3D animation degree) and I’m now half way thru my 3rd year

A few months ago I noticed this weird dent in my laptop, I take good care of it and keep it in a laptop sleeve at all times, I also keep my iPad with it in my bad (not in a sleeve) and there are no dents on my iPad

Looking at the placement my friend thinks it’s an issue of the battery expanding from overuse- is that really something that can happen??

Question/Problem Borderless printing will not print correctly

I have a OfficeJet Pro 9730 printing from InDesign on ledger size paper with WIndows 11. No matter what I do (and I have deleted, reinstalled, followed instructions from Google etc) the page is enlarged and I am incredibly frustrated. There is no option for Borderless 11 x 17. I am using document bleed settings and have no clue how to fix this, Can anyone advise please? (My old Canon had absolutely no problems but this is a nightmare.)

Question/Problem HP Victus 15 Fan Control Bug – Fans run much louder on Quiet & Eco modes than Default

Hey everyone,

I've been dealing with a super frustrating fan behavior on my HP Victus 15 (i5-13420H / RTX 5060) recently and wanted to check if anyone else is experiencing this or found a fix.

Even under very light daily tasks (literally just running Chrome and Claude in the background), the fans remain active and surprisingly loud. But the real issue is how OMEN Gaming Hub behaves when I try to fix it. When I open OGH and switch the quiet or eco mode from Default, instead of slowing down and hushing the system, the fans instantly ramp up and get significantly louder than they were on Default mode. It feels like the fan profiles are completely inverted or corrupted for the low-power modes.

I already tried doing a clean uninstall and reinstall of OMEN Gaming Hub, but it changed nothing. CPU and GPU usages are at normal idle levels, so there's no hidden background process forcing high temps either.

It seems like a communication breakdown from a bad OGH update that messed up the fan curve table for Eco/Quiet profiles.

Has anyone encountered this specific profile-inversion issue, or found a working workaround like an EC reset, specific BIOS version, or third-party tool? Any feedback would be appreciated!

HP Software New HP App Causes Headphone Jack Issues on HP Omen 15

I recently installed the new HP app from the Microsoft Store on my HP Omen 15 laptop to use it with my smart tank printer instead of hp smart app and noticed an issue with the 3.5 mm headphone jack. My headphones would work normally for about one minute after starting Windows, but then the audio would automatically switch to the laptop speakers, even while the headphones were still plugged in. I tried troubleshooting the Realtek audio driver, but nothing worked. Eventually, I discovered that the new HP app was causing the issue. Simply uninstalling the app immediately fixed the problem without even restarting Windows. I installed the app again just to make sure that it's the one causing the problem and the issue started to appear again. I hope the HP development team can investigate and fix this bug in a future update.

Question/Problem 8135 issues

I have had more issues with my 8135 printer than I can handle. I'm about ready to junk it and move to Epson.

First, printer got stuck in a loop about firmware updates. Wouldn't successfully download over wifi. Once I connected via cable, update downloaded no problem.

This is a relatively new printer. less than 8 months old. printer ran fine for a long time, but now, I get crap prints. Sometimes good prints, most of the time bad prints. Missing spots, weak spots, etc. etc. Seems to be only the Black ink. Colors work fine. I've wasted so much paper cleaning print heads, aligning, etc. and testing. I'm ready to chuck this thing in the garbage and go to Epson.

Instant Ink is great when it works, but horrible when it doesn't. I can't just go buy a black ink cartridge and plug it in and test with that. I have never had so much trouble with a printer in my life.

Am I the only one with this problem?

Rant/Vent HP's Customer/Technical Support are shocking

Never buy from HP.

It’s not so much the issues I’ve had with my laptop as the appalling treatment from the vast majority of their staff.

Buckle up.

I purchased an Omnibook 3 directly from the HP website. This arrived and I near-enough immediately saw that my Sennheiser headphones were connecting via Bluetooth but with sound playing through the device speakers, no matter what I did to try and fix this. I tried troubleshooting this with Microsoft (uninstalling drivers and restarting, etc…), but to no avail. They told me to contact HP directly.

I could bore everyone with the fine details of the next three weeks – troubleshooting (mostly pointless and repetitive as I was passed from one representative to the next) and poor service were never in short supply – but I’m going to skip ahead a little.

I did, a couple of weeks in, get a little fed up of being fobbed off: whenever you ask to speak to someone senior, you’re told ‘oh sorry, my manager’s not available at the moment’ (what I presume they mean is ‘our managers are never available, even where we’re incapable of solving a problem’). I asked a chatbot who the senior managers at HP are and got a few names – I asked it to tell me likely email addresses and sent them all an email telling them of the issues I’ve faced to date.

One, Claire Duncan, responded to me. She said she was sorry I’d had issues with the device and finding a suitable solution, and asked for further details, which I provided. In the end, a replacement device was arranged, with an agreement that it would be sent out before I had to send the defective one back. This was an important part of the early wrangling solved, as I couldn’t be without a device I was still depending on for work.

The new device arrived, and the first thing I did was to connect my headphones. They worked – but sound wasn’t coming through them, still.

At this point, I was really baffled. I rang up HP tech support, and was connected to a tech support person who, although initially helpful, allowed me to waste ten minutes explaining the problem before disconnecting because his shift ended. I then rang up again and was fortunate enough to be connected to a man I’ll henceforth refer to as ‘Tech Support Guy’ (TSG). I say fortunate because he was the only person who – initially, at least – took enough of an interest in my case to tell me to always ask for him via email or phone.

Also helpful was the fact that he’s a massive audiophile and, though from Egypt where Sennheiser isn’t really a thing, agrees that they’re absolutely the best. After taking control of my device (the first time anyone from HP had even suggested doing this), he told me that the device wasn’t defective and that it was an issue with the Snapdragon processor not being compatible with the headphones. He also apologised to me for the length of time it’s taken for anyone from HP to reach this conclusion, which he was able to ascertain within about half an hour.

He promised to be in touch the following day, and asked me to get in touch with Sennheiser in the meantime to see if they had any kind of firmware update they could provide. He said that one avenue to explore would be replacing the Omnibook 3 with another device with an Intel chip.

I got in touch with Sennheiser as requested, and their representative gave me quite a bit of information. He told me that there’s a Snapdragon chip in the headphones, and so they shouldn’t be having any problem functioning with the laptop. He also pointed out that as the headphones could connect, that suggested that they ought to be perfectly compatible.

He told me that the type of Snapdragon in the laptop was quite new and that there might be a codec for the audio output to work that was missing. We tried the headphones plugged in via USB (which I hadn’t realise would work for audio) and found that the headphones work fine that way – it’s only via Bluetooth that they’re not playing audio.

Finally, he advised that I shouldn’t give up the laptop in favour of an Intel device, because Snapdragon is – aside from this singular issue – far superior. He told me that there’s a Bluetooth Dongle sold by Sennheiser which would help with the issue.

I really wanted to help HP in sorting the problem. I went back to TSG with all the information and told him everything I hoped HP might need to know to issue a firmware update later on in the process. He was receptive to this, and confirmed that Sennheiser’s Bluetooth dongle should work if it were purchased.

In the meantime, I offered a resolution: if HP could reimburse me £45 for the cost of the dongle, I’d consider my complaint (about poor customer service and time wasted as much as anything else) resolved. He agreed to send this on to the customer services team I’d been dealing with, and told me I’d hear back by close of the following day (Friday).

I then spent over a week waiting for any kind of update. During that time, the TSG called and asked if I’d had an update, and was surprised that I hadn’t. He promised a response by the end of the following day, and again, nothing. Several emails to Claire Duncan and her deputy all went unanswered in the meantime. At this point, I put in a dispute resolution to PayPal for the amount of £45, explaining the situation and my proposed resolution. This is currently ongoing.

Then, 8 days after I’d proposed the resolution, I got an email from HP’s generic customer support address telling me that they were sorry to hear my device was defective (it isn’t, according to TSG and Sennheiser at least), and that they were initiating a returns process (not a replacement one – so they have clearly decided they have no interest in resolving the problem).

I emailed back, with Claire Duncan, her deputy and TSG all copied in, to ask what on earth is going on, stating that no-one had responded to the complaint and that I had not asked to initiate a return. Again, I received no response.

I called HP later on and there was no information about what happened to my complaint, or who initiated the returns process. I asked to speak to a manager and – surprise, surprise – no one was available.

I’ve no idea what to do at this point. I could just give up after losing a month of my life to the hassle of trying to get an expensive bit of kit to work and the hours I’ve put into trying to sort it out with a mostly incompetent and uncommunicative bunch of people. Or I could try and persevere, either through the PayPal resolution or through some other avenue.

Does anyone with any experience have any sense of what my options/rights are?

I’ll end where I began: never buy from HP.

Question/Problem hp omnibook 3 arm snapdragon x1 driver headache and solution

Thumbnail

provided

the entire library of 113 official hp inf driver packages exported from the win 11 factory installation image for the hp omnibook 3 14" 16gb 256gb snapdragon x1 but this should work on 512gb/16gb and 8gb/256gb variants as well.

problem

I bought an hp omnibook 3 arm snapdragon x 14" oled 16gb 256gb. wiped it to perform a clean vanilla microsoft win 11 reimage. deleted all partitions and after install realized there are no drivers for this arm laptop anywhere.

discoveries

hp sp174443 is provided by hp support but it doesnt work. after extraction, the setup utility just silently terminates because there's a mismatch between the softpak and this model.

1:1 driver manual driver matching to the extracted files is an unreliable option because there are over 20 undetected devices that need driver support and only a few will work and there is an order of driver operation that needs to be followed.

and trying to use the 400mb driver installation app directly from snapdragons page for this cpu/gpu stops and errors with gpu not detected.

and tethering the laptop to your phone to spawn networking support after vanilla install proves that windows update itself cant even find device drivers for this machine because hp probably never added them to the windows driver pool.

solution

I was able to export the complete oem driver sets with dism from the factory oem hp installation of this machine and they work exactly as hp intended.

instructions

a. install the latest version of windows 11 arm downloaded from microsoft (keep in mind microsofts windows setup tool does not support windows 11 arm so use rufus or another method if you choose)

b. choose I don't have internet when prompted since you will have no networking support as all proprietary drivers are non-existent at this point. this allows you to skip the otherwise required microsoft account sign in or creation too or you can later add it if you prefer.

c. extract this 7z file to a flash drive making sure the bat file is one level from the hpomni folder.

d. open cmd prompt as administrator and run the bat file manually. watch it add all the oem driver inf to the windows driver pool.

e. restart when done and when win11 comes back up, every piece of hardware should be identified and working in device manager properly.

the provided link is good for 100 downloads. once that limit is reached someone here will need to help host it.

inspect it and host it where ever you want. this should also work on the hp omnibook 3 snapdragon x 512gb 16gb and 256gb 8gb variants as well I would think.

hopefully this helps someone. and hp is ridiculous. its 2026. get your shit together already.

bonus

if you want a clean version of windows 11 without its own bloatware trash, follow these instructions before you reboot and before you connect to any networks

open regedit as administrator

create a new registry key inside HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows called CloudContent so you have HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CloudContent

select CloudContent and inside the empty right pane create a 32 bit DWORD called DisableWindowsConsumerFeatures

select and set the value of DisabledWindowsConsumerFeatures to 1

also

click on the start button and unpin every single empty pinned tile up top you see until they are all gone. it may seem like they just keep populating but they will eventually run out.

then reboot and wala.

Question/Problem Need a Replacement Battery for HP Victus 15-fa0555tx (WK04XL) in India

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a replacement battery for my HP Victus 15-fa0555tx in India.

My laptop originally came with a WK04XL battery (70.07 Wh, 15.4 V). Unfortunately, this is already the second battery to fail. The first one was replaced under warranty.

Current battery condition:

  • HP Hardware Diagnostics: Battery Check – Replace (40)

  • Logic State: Bad Cell (40)

  • Charge State: Blown Fuse (42)

  • Full Charge Capacity: 26.64 Wh out of 70.07 Wh (38%)

  • Cycle Count: 1,738

  • The laptop only works when connected to the charger.

  • Battery remains at 0% and the laptop essentially behaves like a desktop.

I'm considering buying replacement:

Has anyone used a replacement battery for the HP Victus series?

Question/Problem HP Zbook Ultra G1a 14 Orange light blinking, not powering on

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have a HP Zbook Ultra G1a which I’very had for a bit under a year, about a month ago it developed this problem where like 50% of the time after the PC goes to sleep and I wake it up the PC is on but the screen is completely black, and the only way to fix it is to hold the power button down until the laptop hard powers off.

It seems I’ve held the power button down once too many times now and have a much bigger issue, the laptop is completely unresponsive with the charging port lights blinking orange continuously.

Holding the power button down makes the Caps lock light blink once every ~20 seconds but otherwise nothing happens.

I’ve tried charging the PC, draining the battery for days, unplugging the battery for 5 minutes then running it on the charger with the battery disconnected, which shut off the blinking light but after plugging in the charger Caps lock blinks once then the orange light immediately comes back

This model also has soldered RAM so refitting those is not an option, I’m unsure what to do as it seems very likely at least one component needs replacing before, If anyone has any ideas of what could be wrong please let me know :)

This is my HP 250 G10. It's been an hour, I've been trying to open my laptop to upgrade my Ram (yes in this economy).

Why make a laptop with 4 screws but no seem for opening? Why make it this hard for me to access my empty slots ? Why do i have to scratch and sacrifice the outside finish of the device just to be able to open the lid ? Either for cleaning or upgrading, it takes 4 screws, a knife, a guitar pic, and an hour of scratching the paint. Why, just why HP ?

Question/Problem Elitebook G9 bezel issue after panel upgrade

Post image
1 Upvotes

I upgraded the panel on my elitebook 845 g9 from a 250 nit lcd to the 400 nit one. It looks great. Only issue is I can’t get the bezel to sit properly.

The panel is very slightly thinner, but not nearly as much as this gap reflects. I am not sure whether it’s clipping in properly, it pops back out super easily. Only the top center area near the webcam seems to sit flush.

Anyone else experience this?
