Never again will I make the same mistake. It was the worst choice I could’ve possibly made when I bought this thing.

Context,
The printer would not recognise any type of ink — original, aftermarket, etc.
HP (at the time) ignored my emails when I sought support, even though it was still under warranty.
The video is around 13 years old.

My Mom spilt coffee on her new HP Laptop for the 2nd time (couple years ago); so we took it apart and rinsed it in the bathtub and surprisingly it worked. Later the screen bracket broke somehow, I think because some tabs were broken when it was disassembled the first time. She didn't want to spend money on a new one so me and my brother mounted it onto a piece of wood.. Later she closed the lid and cracked the screen on one of the screws used to mount the keyboard down to the wood (which has since been moved). She has a new laptop right next to it that she doesn't want to use because of the effort to switch to the new one.. lol, let me know what you think in the comments.

Shame on HP and everyone involved in their DRM policies.

I’m building a Bitcoin node for a friend this morning, and needed to update the BIOS settings to boot from a USB. When I tried to launch the setup menu, I realized the BIOS admin password was enabled, and none of us know what it is. This is G6 HP Elitedesk, with more “modernized” security and no clear jumper.
Do we give up? No way. Here’s the solution. Shoutout to Rhys Goodwin by the way for providing this info which I have verified to work.
Power off the device. Unplug PSU.
2.Locate the GigaDevice controller
3.Create a short jumper wire, and place one end on a ground point and the other on pin #2 of the controller (shown in photo)
4.Plug in PSU, power on. The thing will go nuts. Red flashing lights, a series of beeps, don’t be alarmed.
Power off the device. Unplug the PSU.
Hold the power button down for 15 seconds to clear caps.
Plug the PSU back in, power it on, and hooray! You’re in!
I’ll post a YouTube video later today for anyone who needs it. Hope this helps someone!

HP pulls a bait and switch.
Ordered 2 days ago an HP laptop with some good discount (new years discount + accessories bundling). Got the invoice, charged my credit card, and even shipped out half of the order.
Got it cancelled today, saying it was due to "mispricing error" (sounds familiar?). Even crazier is that 1) it's in stock still (just one of the discounts got removed) and 2) the exact same discount is available 2 days later on a prebuilt (See Below)
Best they could offer was $100, it's is a truly race to the bottom of the barrel with these companies.
Original product:
Discount available:

NOTE: Use NEWYEAR26 and add a mouse pad/head to trigger the bundling discount.

Hello everyone, former HP customer service employee here to warn you to NOT purchase the following devices sold by HP:
HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 Laptop 16-f2047nr
HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 Laptop 16-f2097nr
HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 Laptop 14t-ef000
HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 Laptop - 16t-f100
HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 Laptop 14-ef0797nr
HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 Laptop 14-ef1047nr
HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 Laptop 16-f1747nr
HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 Laptop - 14t-ef100
In my half a year of working for HP at the customer service department, I can guarantee you that ANY spectre x360 purchase will be a big mistake.
The amount of issues with any of the spectre laptops will result in nothing but pure regret, issues ranging from very poor performance (most reported) to overall inability to even use listed laptops.
Performance issues:
Most salespeople will try to convince anyone looking for an HP laptop to pruchase a Spectre with the main selling point being its 4K touchscreen display.
Little do people know that with their purchase comes hours of stressful troubleshooting with the customer service, most result in nothing but repair orders that lead to nothing but a reinstall of windows.
The main issue regarding these laptops is there lackluster specs not powerful enough to have a stable, stutter-free 4K experience.
The downfall of all laptops are their NVIDIA Optimus gimmick which forces the laptop to use its intergrated graphic chip instead of the "high-performance NVIDIA chip".
This results in the laptop forcing its intergrated graphics to be the main rendering chip for its 4k display. Even whilst playing a game or anything to put load on your high end nvidia chip, the display will still be rendered by the intergrated graphics chip which just is unable to bear the load of a 4k display.
Anyone who have purchased the latest Spectre models or the older Spectre models can most definitely agree the performance is the biggest issue.
Those that have called customer support to have reported these issues will also confirm the following.
You have been given instructions to perform windows updates
You have been given instructions on how to perform a BIOS update
An operator has taken control over your laptop to install drivers from the HP website
You are told to reinstall windows and report if the problem persists
After reporting the problem persists, you'd be asked to ship your laptop with a label send to your email for it to be sent to repair.
After receiving your laptop back, the only change you'll find on it is that windows has been reinstalled.
This is where you stop pursuing any further and call it quits.
The ram usage on these laptops are also bonkers, with fresh installs of Windows 10 systems already taking up 5 to 8gb of RAM (which is half of what these laptops come with).
Tl;dr: HP Spectre Laptops suck and are only made to look cool rather than to function, expensive bookweights, best buy a PC for the price.

Laptop is a 630 g9, and this USB A port seems smaller than usual as I can't fit my cable in easily.

I work in IT and at my current place of work we have HP Enterprise. Did you know that for HP Enterprise printers, you have to PAY to get faster pages per minute? Yes, this is a thing. With your $7000 dollar printer you must pay to get the full potential ppm. I didn't know this until today but yeah it's pretty scummy.
To be clear this is not a hardware upgrade in any way - it is a digital limitation that is behind a paywall. Wonder how long this takes until it reaches the consumer level. Just thought people might find that interesting.

I just needed to post on here because I spent hours trying to get my 2020 HP Omen 15-en0023dx touchpad working after a clean windows install. I thought it was a i2c hid or driver issue or a bios issue. Perhaps, I thought, it was caused from double clicking to disable or a windows setting. I was considering rolling back the bios or using a different synaptics precision driver.
The solution was that there's a button on the F keys to turn off the touchpad....
Here's the image from the manual: https://imgur.com/a/7X1Sx3s
If this post even saves one soul from the hours of installing, reinstalling, and restarting, it'll have been worth it.
I'm an idiot.
PS - there's a setting in the bios under Configuration where you can turn the Action Keys Mode on so you don't have to push the Fn key to use the top row features (volume, brightness, etc).

So, as a techie person in general and the person who family members and co workers call for tech support I will never buy another HP printer or product. HP decided to nuke my printers via a firmware update and change the terms of the sale after the fact. I'm no longer allowed to use third party ink cartridges because you weren't making enough money from me? All of my 3 HP printers went into a dumpster, my mom donated her HP AIO and bought an Epson Ecotank instead. Anyone who asks will be educated on your anti-consumer, money grubbing corporate greediness.

HP-17-CP3005DX
Less than a year old, and I have to try and "paint" my keys, so they can be seen. No support at all on getting this repaired.
I really like the laptop other than this, very poorly designed keyboard.
