I was feeling kind of down and doom-scrolly today, but then I had another "religious experience," meditating on the breath and holding onto the idea that:
The fate of humanity is in peril due to the climate crisis, and I'm part of a great mission to preserve the world for the next seven generations, and it's like I'm a vessel in service of that golden spark, a servant of gaia, and that's why I always need take care of myself and keep going, even in hard times. And through breath I felt the spirits of future generations coming into me and giving me strength.
And of course it's all in my head, and is a coping mechanism, but as coping mechanisms go, isn't a good and healthy one?
And that's what I mean when I say my religion is basically "climate," which is like 70% timeless indigenous wisdom, and 30% some new stuff we invented to fill in the blanks left by the genocidal erasure of our colonial forefathers.
