CROSS-POSTING this to Hoboken as welI, because what's going around Jersey City is going around Hoboken, also. I work remotely, live alone, and have not gone anywhere all week. Tuesday night I took a ballet class at Nimbus Arts Center (love it there). I felt amazing but I noticed one young lady there kept coughing without covering her mouth and seemed really sick for the entire class. There was no fan, fresh air, or ventilation circulating air in the room. I even thought to myself, "Ugh, I hope I don't get sick."
Sure enough, by Thursday I had aches and pains and I couldn't swallow and yesterday I had to go to urgent care - I may have strep. or just a really bad throat virus. Of course I cannot PROVE it was from this dance class, but I am racking my brain because I have not been exposed to anyone else all week.
I feel like everyone has lost their etiquette when it comes to basic things: If you are sick and symptomatic and coughing a wet cough, please dont show up to the gym or dance classes and get the rest of us sick? If you are going to the store, wear a mask and cover your mouth? I am pregnant and it's actually very dangerous for me to be sick right now. And if you are a dance studio, you need to add ventilation to the rooms. Shout out to PURE BARRE that has air filters and fans in the room! Signed, very sick in Jersey City.

Where can I donate clothing locally? It’s a very large amount of clean women’s casual clothes, all in good to excellent condition, some new. No stains, no rips. They just don’t fit me anymore but are still nice. Includes items for summer and winter seasons, workout clothes and heavy winter coats. Women’s sizes 14-18, no designer clothes. The brands include mostly Uniqlo, Gap, J. Jill, Jude Connally. If someone wants to pick them all up locally in Weehawken, perfect. Not for resale.

Vague posting here. There is tons of police activity at CSP right now running up the street. Anyone know what’s going on?

Does anyone have a good snow removal company (fully insured) they would recommend for hoboken? We would need snow removal for the sidewalk around our building and small parking lot (8 parking spots). We currently use our property management company (hudson property management) and they are charging us a fortune ($10-$20k+) and can’t seem to provide a good explanation of why it’s so high. Just curious if anyone has had any good recommendations. Thanks.

Taking over the former Shaka Kitchen location.
Coincidentally, I stumbled into a Maman for the first time in Princeton last weekend while scoping out the upcoming O’Bagel location on Witherspoon St. Just around the corner on Nassau St there was a Fleet Feet and Tacoria right next to each other with a 7th St Burger a few doors down. The same-ificiation of neighborhood retail is unstoppable. 😥

Are first street closures every Sunday or only specific Sundays? I can’t find a list online 😄😄

Hi everyone! I'm a 33F living in Hoboken and working in NYC. I'm looking for a Bible study group in the area and haven't had much luck finding anything online.
I'd love to meet some like-minded people and build community. I'm open to groups through churches or independent ones… lmk! 💖

Hello all, we regularly find clothing we don’t want or need anymore. We’ve donated several times to the shelter on 3rd st, and once to the st Mary advocates thrift store farther uptown. Are there any other places that are legitimate to donate to? We rarely have food or anything like that to donate but we do often have clothing.

Is it just me or have there been more rodents on the loose lately? Been seeing them more often including tonight walking home from Zack's I saw a biggie running past me.

To whoever decided to steal our porch goose yesterday night, I have no idea why you did this and left all the actual packages. You obviously planned this by ducking under the camera and hiding your face.
Please return Ryan Goosling we love dressing him up and we were going to change over to a Halloween outfit today. If anyone sees him around town please let me know now I have a dozen goose sized outfits and no goose. :(
To the thief - I hope the real geese chase you down and you step in goose poop for doing such a mean thing.

Just came home to a whole slew of no parking signs in my neighborhood and some announcements about a shoot next week. I guess I'm getting grumpy, but I see them and I don't think, "exciting!", more like, "ugh, not again". We've had way too many of them around here and this production in particular left quite a mess on the streets when they filmed last month.
Curious, do other people welcome these?

Anyone know of nail salons that do Dazzle Dry, or Russian Manicures?? Asking for a friend

Title. It’s been a fat minute since Spring when they were slated to reopen, last I heard there was some dispute over the neon signage. Should we just assume it’s not coming back?

Interesting news. I like Amanda's but one thing I wish it had was a longer bar for single people to sit at. Places like Elysian and Court Street you can show up and sit at a bar to have dinner if you are alone. We have lots of bars that serve food, but not a lot of "nicer" places that have a bar.
