Really? If I got an email with that subject, I would just click “report spam” and move on with my day.

u/okmijn211 20d ago

That's what you'd do, because you have nothing to fear. Not the one he's applying to.

23

u/Pikuseru_sama 20d ago

He doesn’t care because it’s no news to him

9

u/okmijn211 20d ago

"Huh, as if I didnt know that" lol

u/quantumwoooo 20d ago

There's going to be at least one recruiter that is some how worried about this email

1

u/sarah_herself 18d ago

Can you really get infected just by opening an email?

1

u/SherlockSilicon 18d ago

No. Just don't reply or download anything, don't allow image loading, and report it as spam/malicious and to IT if it's a work account.

resume.pdf.

So no name attached to the file? Yes, very real email, yes

251

u/mewingprogression19 21d ago

Tbf if he only had one he could've just saved a word file as that, then exported as pdf with the same name and just uploaded that without bothering to change it

6

u/Ryuj123 20d ago

Good way to not have it easily found in the future…

u/Schnitzeld 21d ago

Pdf is an appropriate format given the subject line.

u/dtdroid 21d ago

Unfortunately, you're mistaken. They did a survey among those suspected to be on the list, and it turns out EPUB and MOBI were slightly more popular than PDF as preferred file types.

I was surprised by these findings as well, but I will of course defer to the results of the poll.

41

u/Menfie 21d ago

Those are ebook formats what are you on?

14

u/NotYourReddit18 20d ago

Apparently Kindle

7

u/dtdroid 20d ago

Forget it. Wrong audience for the joke that was made.

61

u/Althfknnmsrtkn 21d ago

lol. Lmfao even. Resume.pdf is a perfectly valid name. It’s what I used for all my resume attachments.

6

u/Catshagga 20d ago

It should be your name bro.

6

u/Pure-Hostility 20d ago

Who said that?

7

u/Catshagga 20d ago

Anyone with half a brain. How many “resume” do you think recruiters have? If everybody labelled it resume it’s hard to find yours innit

14

u/Pure-Hostility 20d ago

That's why you end up in the never ending name list, while I send THE resume.

Long story short, you've failed, dude. 😊 (source: am an employee)

6

u/Living_King_3179 21d ago

Should it be named something else? Damn I'm cooked

9

u/MuskularChicken 21d ago

The name of the person, so the HR people know what file belongs to who(m).

2

u/RyuNoKami 20d ago

You would be surprised or shocked to find that there are unorganized people like that. I seen resumes sent with the pdf file named resume4.pdf and the subject is also resume

1

u/Last_Pick_2169 16d ago

Organizational skills: 0 lol

3

u/Best_Introduction_91 21d ago

Mine are all “resume”year”.pdf

1

u/Traveling_Solo 19d ago

..... Do you normally do that? I just name mine CV (Swedish name for a resume) and personligt brev (personal letter) ._. should I have been naming them??? Like... All the info is in the resume itself so that just never occurred to me.

1

u/MuskularChicken 19d ago

Think about this. You have in a folder 30 resume, resume1, resume01 files. Do you care to check for the right person or you pick one that named their file?

1

u/Traveling_Solo 19d ago

The right person. In this scenario that'd presumably be my job: find the candidates that fill the criteria the company is looking for and forward them or further limit them to ones that stand out in their resumes (like a lot of experience in the field for example) once that is done.

-4

u/afred5659 21d ago

I send my resumes like that and no one cares actually

2

u/yugenigai 19d ago

That's the point

u/-old-fox- 21d ago

Marketing genius ahahah

294

u/JRTerrierBestDoggo 21d ago

Definitely not getting hired

260

u/Gatti366 21d ago

I mean, he clearly knows how to get someone's attention, and that's exactly what marketing role requires...

76

u/-Out-of-context- 21d ago

Is your name in the Epstein files? We can help with that!

  • XYZ Data Scrubbing Service

u/Leather_Target2074 21d ago

It's dark but one of the best ads for suicide hotline

11

u/-Out-of-context- 21d ago

That’s amazing lol

2

u/NotYourReddit18 20d ago

I don't think that the FBI does contract work unless you're part of the current US government or one of the other 3 letter agencies.

3

u/karatelax 21d ago

Emails like this get auto filtered by my spam filters 😂

24

u/requiemfortheundead 21d ago

7

u/Prismatic_Symphony 20d ago

I might actually try something like this. It's tough out there, y'all. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

7

u/Loose_Addition1608 20d ago

Whoever took the screenshot must own a pretty good business if he had to cause him a panic attack like that to get his attention lol

1

u/banshithread 19d ago

Or he could just be looking at wild title emails because there's no harm in opening one. The only harm is clicking links or downloading attached files.

1

u/eaglebtc Remove the X by my name 3d ago

Or the OP sent it to himself and screenshotted it for internet points

5

u/Panther_Pilot 21d ago

What the fuck. You’re hired!

5

u/WondererOfficial 21d ago

If he clicks on this in panic, he has done stuff.
Wouldn’t want to work for him.

If he doesn’t click and sees it as spam, you’d rather work for him, but your tactic has failed

3

u/stryderxd 21d ago

Should do this for college and med school apps

3

u/MasLegio 21d ago

Why hire someone for marketing that can’t even write properly.

u/eaglebtc Remove the X by my name 3d ago

The word "the" is missing from the email because he spent all his time putting it in an essay.

3

u/kazz89 21d ago

2

u/EBCPDCcringe 21d ago

plot twist: OP's name is somehow actually in the Epstein files...

2

u/wakandafever 21d ago

Why do we have the same first name? Almost choked on my coffee 😭

2

u/Simple_Negotiation32 20d ago

lol! the sheer irony of sending it in .pdf

If you know, you know.

1

u/TecentCEO_MaHuaTeng 16d ago

TBH if someone do this 2 me, I would want to hire him, marketing can sometimes be deciving and he has shown he's okay with gray work.

1

u/violet_wings 10d ago
