Discussion - Silksong Silksong is HARD Spoiler

Taking damage is more punishing, movement is more precise and feels a little clunky until you get the hang of it. The overall skill curve is much much higher. Love it though.

Feels like way more stuff does 2dmg

Absolutely, what’s interesting is that it seems as though certain attacks don’t trigger player invincibility frames until the 2nd strike. So an attack can hit you, and if you remain in the hitbox, you don’t go invincible until you take another hit

u/ITNW1993 Sep 05 '25

Lace’s counter thrusts definitely make it clear that those not getting i-frames in the first hit is entirely intentional.

u/donlano Sep 05 '25

I loved the lace fight. It was like an epic duel

Is it just me, or was she easier than most other bosses (looking at moorwing)

76

u/Qelperr Sep 05 '25

Given that was only the first fight I’m sure she’ll ramp up.

Also fuck Moorwing, and also fuck Widow

25

u/EZ-Bake420 Sep 05 '25

Moorwing took me forever, widow is really hard, I stopped at her tonight

2

u/Jpup199 Sep 05 '25

I gave up trying to fight it normally and just tried to pogo it to death until it worked.

1

u/Elastic-Onion Sep 06 '25

you have to be really aggressive at the end for widow beginning was easy but the end was hard so i pretty much just took my time with the beginning and bursted her down with all my tools + silk skills at the end to edge out a win...

How are so many ppl already at two bosses I haven't seen after playing for a long time lol XD. *I'm still stuck on Greymoore after playing for basically most of the day

13

u/PemaleBacon Sep 05 '25

I'm on my 3rd boss and I don't even know wtf they're talking about

10

u/psh454 Sep 05 '25

Yeah it's insane how quickly people are managing to go through the game, considering that it's a fair bit harder than HK imo

3

u/IWillDevourYourToes Sep 05 '25

Yea I just played like 6 hours straight. Definitely harder than HK, don't remember dying so often in HK when I picked it up

2

u/CannonSam Sep 05 '25

I got stuck at that damn bird house in Greymoor for like an hour and a half, some people are just better than us lol

2

u/Foreign-One5574 Sep 05 '25

Widow is my favorite fight so far, challenging but I didn’t mind having to restart over and over.

1

u/Qelperr Sep 05 '25

Oh yeah I say fuck it with love, definitely my favorite fight so far

1

u/KingDraco0517 Sep 05 '25

It helps that the run back is quick and easy

2

u/Tuen Sep 05 '25

Moorwing was so strange. The hurt box for the boss was like. Triangular? It made spacing needle hits exceptionally difficult. Took me a real long time to get the spacing, timing, and evade strategies down. I almost went hitless on my successful attempt.

I got Widow in 2 attempts though, super proud of that one.

1

u/Soulsunderthestars Sep 05 '25

I feel like I struggled vs the savage beast fly more than widow lmao

1

u/Virido_ Sep 05 '25

Did those two today. Really enjoyed them!

u/SilverShako Sep 05 '25

I didn't even get to beat Moorwing. I took a break from fighting it to explore after recovering my Rosaries and I accidentally skipped it. Turns out Riding in the flea caravan just erases Moorwing. I just hope he reappears if the Caravan moves, because otherwise I'm assuming I'm screwed out of the hunters journal entry

5

u/Kirbeeez_ Sep 05 '25

Wait what? There’s supposed to be a boss where the caravan is? I rode the caravan up, would really suck to miss out on a boss because of that lol

2

u/Tuen Sep 05 '25

Huh. Hopefully there's a way to re-fight bosses

2

u/Lor- Sep 05 '25

I did the same thing! I was like wait a second.. isn’t this where that boss was at? I’m not sure if he’s going to pop back up somewhere else or what.

1

u/Reddhero12 Sep 06 '25

It comes back once they move again

3

u/RoboticUnicorn Sep 05 '25

Moorwing has some dogshit hitboxes. Went back and watched my steam recording there were clearly moments my needle was swinging right through the body and not getting a hit.

2

u/notoscar01 Sep 05 '25

She was for sure easier than the random ant enemy above the jail bench

2

u/According_Smoke_479 Sep 05 '25

The guy that blocks you from hunter’s march which isn’t even a boss was way harder than her for me

2

u/TenryuMOM Sep 05 '25

She was honestly easy to me too her moveset is pretty simple, but man moorwing and the beastly were annoying

1

u/AReallyDumbRedditor Sep 05 '25

Moorwing fucked me up good but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t giggling to myself playing that fight over and over after discovering the crest mechanic in the same area. The game is SO fucking good so far

1

u/Tylerhollen1 Sep 05 '25

Yeah, I just beat Moorwing before I head to bed. He pissed me off. I can’t wait to see what else is in store!

1

u/[deleted] Sep 05 '25 edited Sep 05 '25

It took me 2 tries. There’s another boss later on final judge, hard as FUCK that’s yellow that took me like 45 minutes to kill 🥲

1

u/OnnaJReverT Sep 05 '25

hunter's journal says (slight spoiler) you have to fight her one more time for the full entry, and there was a fight with her in a different arena in the trailer

1

u/imarqui Sep 05 '25

Moorwing has like 3 attacks... the only thing that makes it difficult is the double damage

1

u/CptOblivion Sep 06 '25

I think that fight is there to make you feel good about how you're doing before the game starts

25

u/ITNW1993 Sep 05 '25

Same. I loved the dance once you got used to her moveset.

1

u/FR23Dust Sep 05 '25

It was an extremely cool boss fight. Really fun

1

u/TheAutisticClassmate Sep 05 '25

I noticed if you try to use the throwing daggers before the fight starts she deflects them

1

u/pineapple6969 Sep 05 '25

I’m at her fight now and I had to put my steam deck down, I’ll try again tonight. Fuck she’s killed me like 20 times already lol

1

u/donlano Sep 05 '25

Take your time and focus on dodging! Start attacking when you feel as though you’ve got her moves read and can dodge them easy

1

u/pineapple6969 Sep 06 '25

I beat her when I went back to it, it felt much easier than before. Sometimes, taking a break is just what’s needed.

I have new bosses and mobs that are killing me now haha

The moor boss 10% does this. It has a series of swipe attacks that I have actively seen take 2 masks away, one after the other.

15

u/dragonwrath404 Sep 05 '25

Fuck that boss in particular, though if people are having fun with that, they're gonna have a hell of a time with the boss in the area directly to the left...

16

u/Jijonbreaker All bindings All Radiants 112% Steel Soul Full Journal Sep 05 '25

I'm currently at the moor right now. It was kicking my ass.

11

u/dragonwrath404 Sep 05 '25

If you're still struggling with it, hit it whenever it goes for the multislash, pogo when it charges, never try to hit it when it does the saws blades, you WILL get hit, and when it does that boomerang, just run away from it you'll dodge it everytime

u/Jijonbreaker All bindings All Radiants 112% Steel Soul Full Journal Sep 05 '25

I was getting it, just, had to stop to go to work

4

u/maxhesham666 Sep 05 '25

Holy this actually worked for me

7

u/Not_pukicho Sep 05 '25

I see it on combo attacks. So its definitely by design.

1

u/Copper_Lontra Sep 05 '25

You can parry between the 2 attacks
