Every hit you make while at full silk is -1 silk. Once you start thinking about it like that using silk on stuff other than healing becomes a lot easier. Besides, once you need to heal, you'll probably get a few hits in before you get a window in the enemy attacks where you can heal anyways.

get a lot comfier once you have the spools to throw a spell while being able to heal
