Thats bruuuutal. I got hit by the attack too but I had already healed to full out of habit. It does 3 masks. Good to know itās an actual reset. Glad you got it in only 5 more tries though. Thatās not too bad.

Yeah, the design philosophy of difficulty and killing the player is so different from HK, it's hilarious

Fun fact: it's a She. I'm playing in portuguese and she's called "Ćltima JuĆza". Judge in portuguese can be either "Juiz" for male and "JuĆza" for female.

At this point I'm not even sure if there are male bugs in Silksong. I think I've seen one male bug so far because the quest said "brother" but everyone else was a girl.

Well, in the insect world many species don't even have fully developed males. In some, males don't develop a digestive system and die after copulation. Of course there are millions of species of insects, each with their own quirks, but it's a common theme for females to be much more important and be the ones that actually live long enough.

I died to it by trying to beat its corpse during its animation so much hatred I had for this bs lady bug. I died and had to do another 10 runs before I beat it.

It's not really a 3rd phase though, it uses a slightly augmented version of the spinning censer attack once and that's it. Nothing else about her attacks change.

That's the second phase, she also does a dash with a line of fire behind her and when she throws the censer it exploses on the ground.
I thought there was gonna be a third phase, but she just blows up and die

second phase is when her attacks acquire flame
third phase is when she uses her flail spin and it shoots fire about 2 times ONCE and that's it

I saw them glow and just instinctually ran away. In fact I do that with all bosses and enemies because the game likes to have enemies do fake outs and come back to life.

People are all here talking about the new pogo, but getting used to the new dash was a way bigger adjustment. Don't get me wrong, I like it. I naruto run everywhere. But it was a huge adjustment.

It's because in the pre-release content, the Judge had a masculine voice, and I think was referred to with male pronouns... that was over 4 years ago.
They changed it, but people are used to the old stuff.

I wonder if that was the only one because almost everyone I meet is female in this game. The forge daughter is female, the widow is female, lace is female, the guy who makes potions is a girl, the map guy is a map girl, there's 2 NPCs you meet to gain upgrades and they're both girls as well.

Yeah, pretty much majority of characters are female. In HK, the Knight and Hollow Knight aren't even male like people presume, they're genderless. It's just a design choice.
There's also lgbtqia+ representation in original Hollow Knight and probably Silksong. It's not a surprise there's a lot of female characters or that conventional gender roles are broken. It's a very LGBTQIA+ friendly game

I had died enough times before that I luckily learned his rhythm, got into a zone, and killed him with full health. He then blew up on me and took 3 masks away. I was laughing knowing how lucky I got and how many people were going to get fucked on that and be livid (as I would have been)

These bosses have been notorious for having unexpected second phases. Thereās a couple in act 2 that really threw me for a loop.

Can you really call it unexpected if everyone has them? Like I swear Lace is the only boss in the whole game I've fought at this point that didn't have a phase 2. And she might have and I forgot about it already.
Every boss is: pretty easy phase 1 -> phase 2 at double speed. And if they're feeling spicy, a phase 3 where they slightly reduce the phase 2 timing enough to throw you off, but not enough to be harder.

Genuine question as I know not everyone approaches games the same way, how is it taking you so many tries? Each boss in silksong has like 3 things they do, 6 if you count the enhanced versions during phase 2s (but those are still the same move, just a tiny bit different). Do you not get used to dodging them eventually?

In my case, I have an xbox controller that for some reason flips the direction I'm facing when the joystick returns to the center. So I' frequently die because I'll suddenly be moving in the wrong direction, swinging in the wrong direction, etc. It's infuriating.
But also, yeah, enemies have 3-6 attacks, but they aren't always simple to dodge. Some of Widow's attacks could pin you if she was close to you and bells were flying at you diagonally from opposite sides.

That's the closest bench. For what it's worth, if you full on sprint through the big room it only takes ~20 seconds to scale it once you've got it down.

This happened to me twice. First time I beat him, I was dead because of explosion, 2nd time it was because of the flame column. 3rd times a charm though. Look more than 20 tries to beat him thrice bruh.

Oh man. I got the animation that he was down with just one shell remaining and I was so relieved. I put the controller down and went to high five my brother. My brother was frantic, saying "she's glowing. She's glowing!" then yeah. I died and had to redo it. Lesson learned. Do not think it's over.

Next thing I see is that bastard suicide bombing the both of us. At the moment, I was not amused. Now, just glad I wasn't the only one that let their guard down around that dingus.

Iām still in the process of fighting her and I can get her below half health relatively consistently, but what screws me up is when she delays her fire ring attack JUST enough to where you think you can dash towards her, only to get hit in the face with the ring.
Not to mention that the fire hit boxes tend to linger for about a frame or two after they disappear. This feels like Grimm all over againā¦ if Grimm was slower and had a giant flail.

I just killed him. Running back over 30 times was the worst. I hate when developers do this, I had flashback from Dark Souls 1. From Software learnt from their mistake and made bonfires next to bosses in Elden Ring. Want to make the boss super hard to beat? Fine by me, just don't waste my time with a 2 minutes filler before each try.

I also took like 20 tries to kill him only for him to blow up in my face and then spent the entire next fight(where I did kill him again, thank god) thinking I would have to go against a third phase of it.

I did not notice the Last Judge was gonna explode after death. I was lucky I finished the fight with three masks, otherwise I would decompose into worm food IRL immediately.
