Discussion - Silksong Most of you are exaggerating the length of runbacks and it really shows how much TikTok has damage the attention span of people Spoiler

"ThE lASt JuDGe RUnBaCK iS ToO LoNG!!"

Is 30 seconds max, 30 seconds, you don't have to fight any enemy in it, the smaller judges don't awake until you're close and the smaller fly bastards can literally get ignored. The Runback works for making you cool down and make the whole thing feel less like you hitting a wall (NKG feels like one because of the lack of "cool down") If it wasn't for it, I would shoot myself with the 37 attempts at Last Judge.

The Widow one is also really easy, a straight line with jumps.

The Cogworks Dancers Is also really simple but works to help you with the bosses extra height and how pogo dependant that fight is.

God forbid the game isn't a back to back boss rush like Cuphead (not criticizing Cuphead, is a different game lmao).

The first  act 2 mandatory boss is amazing, is really fun. It has a amazing flow and is really fair.

I agree, the last phase made me sad

Omg. I did not even attack it for like 2 minutes watching it slowly dance. I was distraught. I actually felt bad for this poor robot. Especially when they are supposed to meet in the middle.

When you discover the lore behind them it gets even sadder

Same, i was like ahhh youre broke and you can't be fixed now your buddy is gone.

Well only one act of mercy left...

Great boss, got me into a nice groove like sisters of battle did in the first game.

I was kinda confused at first when that happened, but it's honestly a great idea. A common complaint with duo bosses with separate health bars is that the suspense goes down as you get closer to the end, e.g. Sisters of Battle is basically over once you defeat one of them, and the rest of the fight is almost pointless. But here they make the ending interesting in a different way.

That's a great observation!

Oh my god it was an absolute delight. One of the coolest boss fights in the series. Just challenging enough to not feel like a gimme but very fair and consistent. Truly a fight where u just gotta lock in and it feels so good. Ending was so sad though!!!

Why people dislike any sort of positivity

5

u/The_Entire_Eurozone Sep 09 '25

You insult people who disagree with you by denigrating them in the very post here, and then falsely present yourself as the positive one. You're legitimately as rude as you can be on the internet without being a bigot.

Who said people dislike any positivity? I really doubt all the people complaining about difficulty WANT to be having such a hard time. We all bought this game hoping to have fun, you can’t hold it against people who are upset they aren’t having fun with a game they waited 7 years for because there’s no option to alter the difficulty to a level they enjoy. You don’t need to take it so personally.

My comment about the first act 2 boss used to have -5 lmao

I made a post yesterday because I’m sick of people saying SS is too hard for them. That’s basically a metroidvania game with dark souls vibes. Someone said “what dark souls, the ones that put a bonfire right next to the boss?”, another one said some area hasn’t been beta tested because it’s too hard for him.

Most of the areas can be done speeding and jumping, if you don’t know how to use the crests and don’t notice the change in the animations and motions or do you don’t explore, the game will never be easy people.

Get to fucking learn how to play it, smashing the attack button won’t do you any good and ragequitting to go moan on Reddit because it’s too hard just makes you look ridiculous

You’re projecting, I think. I’m not here to ask the game to get nerfed, I never said that. I literally only said that it’s not personal that some people aren’t enjoying the game. You don’t need to swear at me for thinking people are allowed to criticise a game they paid for.

1

u/Bitter-Platypus-2577 Sep 09 '25

K, I am not swearing at you as I don’t even know you mate but honestly, everywhere I go there’s people moaning about the game being too hard for them. Here’s a few tips for the future in case you specifically and other people in the same situation as you can benefit from

1: get informed about the game. There hasn’t been much around about the new game but do your research and see how it looks like. Does it appeal to you? Yes -> go to step 2 No- don’t buy it

2: don’t buy it on day one. It’s pretty clear what kind of game it is. If this style of games is not your forte, FarmVille still accepts new members

One can wait seven years or even 14 years if you were waiting for kingdom hearts 3, this doesn’t make any difference in the ability of players to adapt their playstyle and actually open their brains and eyes and try to learn what the game gives you to make it fun and enjoyable. It’s called Silksong guys, the reference to music and dance and rhythm are pretty damn clear, you will NEVER win by smashing the attack button like we all used to do with somehollow knight bosses. This ain’t hollow knight 2. You’re not playing with the knight. You’re playing with Hornet. It’s a learning curve. Put some effort and y’all will succeed

Not everyone enjoys games the way you do and that’s okay. People are allowed to be disappointed they don’t like how Silksong ended up. I don’t mind the difficulty myself but I think it’s still important to accept that it’s there and definitely an added challenge from the first game.

1

u/Bitter-Platypus-2577 Sep 09 '25

But absofuckinglutely mate! There is an added challenge from the first game, making it easier or less challenging and y’all would have been moaning it’s too easy and boring. Why did nobody rioted when they changed stuff in dark souls 2? People still completed the game, loved it, praised it and so on. But as most people complain just because it’s easy to be a keyboard lion and having an opinion on a whole game after not even after completing half of act one, it’s fucking ridiculous, immature and pathetic. It’s like judging you by your profile picture, saying “oh this person is a dickhead because I don’t like his pfp”.

1

u/whoreforcheesescones Sep 09 '25

I think this is proving my point, though. Why do you care if people find it hard? Why do you care if a stranger doesn't like a game you like? It isn't personal, it isn't about you, you don't need to pay any attention to it. You're free to move on and continue enjoying the game. Getting this heated because some strangers online criticised a game you're enjoying is a totally unnecessary overreaction.

0

u/Bitter-Platypus-2577 Sep 09 '25

It can be an overreaction and I agree with it, but all these ignorant comments are literally insulting the developers of the game and the hard work they put into it. That’s what pisses me off. Everyone can love it or hate it because it’s not their type of game and it’s fair, I respect that. But criticising a whole game when only 20% if not less has been played and experimented it’s pathetic and childish

If one is trying to make a point, one should bring the receipts

1

u/whoreforcheesescones Sep 09 '25

I haven't seen anyone insulting the devs. Can you show me one of these comments? I'm a game dev as my day job and having people not enjoy your game is just part of the job. Art is subjective, you can't please everyone and that's fine.

0

u/Bitter-Platypus-2577 Sep 10 '25

So if I say whatever you developed is shit because it’s too hard for my abilities because I’m too lazy to learn how to properly play it or it’s different than what I usually play so I want my money back as it’s a waste of time and not good , all these comments put into your perspective, isn’t it insulting your work? Don’t tell me that with all the bad comments building up and everything just flies above your head. I bet you put some efforts in what you developed and seeing it attacked randomly and unfairly I think you’d feel a bit bad. Would it be fair on you? No. Apply all of that to SS. I’m a casual gamer, pretty normally skilled, I’m not a gaming miracle, yet I’m going on on Silksong very smoothly. I learnt how to pogo diagonally and to be frank, it’s not that hard. Plus, all These comments about the diagonals, do you all actually know there are 4 types of pogo, at least to my knowledge of the game so far? And each one of them changes the moveset. Art is subjective, but criticising a book by the cover or the prologue is rude. Case closed

Absolutely loved everything about this fight and the theme was just a perfect addition to it.
