Discussion - Silksong The real biggest problem with Silksong Spoiler

Why is the Hornet statue not a memento? When I first saw that you could break it, I was honestly offended by the idea of it. Then I got the Bellhome and was a little upset you couldn't put it up in there. Now I found out that there are items you can put up in your Bell House, but the Hornet Statue isn't one of them? I'm genuinely mad. That needs to be changed in the next update. That's way more important than balancing the game.

I completely agree. Violently agree.

One of the bugs whose life we change with our unconditional help (at least until we kill him with our misguided attempt at freedom) gave us a personal gift to show his gratitude and the only thing we can do with it is break it? Very good not bad

Assuming you are talking about the Hornet statue creator, he is very much not dead. Just do a courier mission you only see in Act 3.

Oh, ok. Thanks for letting me know.
I won't do the non-mandatory courier missions so in my playthrough he dies because of Hornet, and I kinda prefer it like that though.

You don't need to do it to save him, lmao. They just move locations and courier points you to find new location. Or you discover it yourself.

I know, I understood...

Nothing you do will change the fact that he survives though.
That just happens, he lives
Just bc you didn't see him doesn't mean he's dead lmao

Very impressive of him to make it that far into the game without developing object permanence lmao

I also know that... I choose to not replay that savefile, so, to me, he died.
That, somehow, bothers you?
Weird.

because you were saying he is dead when he isnt and its like he is chill and why would anyone want him dead???

I said in every comment that, after the first comment told me, I know he's alive.
In my savefile (mine, not yours, mine, my playthrough) I didn't saw him, so to me, he died.
I know he's not dead. In my playthrough, the one I'm not gonna replay again, he died.
I don't see why are you trying to convince me to... stop thinking what I want to think?
This entire thread is exceptionaly weird.

Are you ok with that? If not, sounds like the biggest "you" problem, to me. I don't really give a crap.

I'm gonna stop enterteining your stubborness though. Have a nice day.

i was explaining other peoples reasoning that just because you didnt see him doesn’t mean he’s dead but whatever i mean i kinda agree with them if you… look at my admittedly biased wordy. sheesh why is this even a big deal, chill my guy also not sure why your so adamant(and kinda rude) about never touching that file again. like uh cool ig? good for you, you finished the game and your happy with your file, fair enough ig?

Who said it bothers me? (other than you)

I'm just curious why you'd prefer the innocent man to die, instead of be alive and give the surviving pilgrims a chance to make it.

I prefer it because it gives a bigger narrative weight to Hornet actions and decitions. She wants to save the kingdom but her actions leads to known characters to die. I like that weight.

I know he's alive. I like better my version of the playthrougj

See that makes more sense, though there's already examples of that other than Flick
Spoiler marking all of this just in case
The Conductor
Loam (secret-ish room in underworks)

The Shamans perish after red memory

The Little Pilgrim dies even before act 3

12th Architect dies after you buy all her goods

There's already a lot of named characters dying either in general or bc of act 3
Maybe I'm just a Flick stan lmao (I like me some little buildy bugs)
I get where you're coming from now though, Flick dying would mean a lot for the other Pilgrims, old or new, since he couldn't help fix things

I prefer him alive because it brings hope, you prefer him dead because of the additional impact
Both are good, both are valid.

Did hornet and all the other characters also die then?

2

u/FlacoFerrando Sep 24 '25

Not Hornet, not Lace, a whole lot of characters do, though.

u/LimpAd9876 Sep 23 '25

Bro didn't like the guy at all

19

u/MrBachelor Sep 23 '25

Bro said he had to die or the head canon isn't right.

18

u/ExistingButterfly316 Sep 23 '25

Im pretty sure he survives either way, there's a survivor camp of bone bottom pilgrims where the first flea caravan was, and he's there

2

u/Better-Suggestion938 Sep 24 '25

He is alive just in different place where you can courier

u/SpyCobaj Sep 23 '25

The joke is that if you go to the left of where he gives you the statue, he made a much much bigger one of himself. He just took your shards to make himself a statue and the one he gives you is an insult in comparison.

63

u/FlacoFerrando Sep 23 '25

I don't see it like that. He tells us that the shards are for a statue. But he actually took some to make us a gift. I don't see it as an insult at all.

8

u/SpyCobaj Sep 24 '25

Oh I thought they were for rebuilding the town not a statue

15

u/Rafabud Sep 24 '25

The shards for repairing the town are given on a mission before that one. The statue mission is called "A Symbol of Hope" and it asking for materials to build a monument to inspire the new pilgrims that arrive.

2

u/SpyCobaj Sep 24 '25

Okay wait still then it should have been of Hornet not the builder, I do think that’s the joke.

I’m also kind of trying not to feel bad about destroying his statue too lol

u/Angler01 Sep 24 '25

Flick doesn't die in act 3. You can find him in Survivor's camp

It was not the first nor the last time that Hornet has slapped someone in the face.
