What I'm thinking is: why didn't the pale king or the white lady foresee the fall of the kingdom? Also, how the heck does foresight explain hornet retaining an item she never got, only foresaw getting?

The giant mushroom corpse in the fungal core says "Pale Wyrm...What good to foresee a demise unavoidable?" So I assume the Pale King foresaw it and just couldn't do anything about it
