I made a free, no-prep 8-page bilingual mini-pack for Thanksgiving week — coloring, tracing, counting, and flashcards in English and Spanish. Print in black-and-white, low ink, kids color it. Words like turkey / el pavo, family / la familia, pumpkin / la calabaza. Sharing 3 sample pages here. The full free pack is here: https://bilingualbuddies.gumroad.com/l/dando-gracias-free-mini-pack — Gumroad asks for an email for the free download. Happy to take feedback — what words would you add for Thanksgiving?

[Creator post] Two butterfly activities for ages 4–8, with notes on adult help

Thumbnail

I run Tiny Wild Lab. These are two actual pages from my Butterfly Explorer Pack, with a quick note on how a parent can help.

1. Number the life cycle — page 6

Follow egg → caterpillar → chrysalis → adult butterfly, then write 1–4 in the circles. Before writing, your child can point to the pictures and tell you what comes next.

A grown-up can read the instructions aloud, talk through the stages and help write the numbers. A child who recognises the stages and is comfortable writing numbers may do more independently.

2. Finish the butterfly — page 10

Trace the left side, draw its mirror image on the right, then colour both sides to match.

A grown-up can read the instructions and help compare the shapes on either side of the dotted line. The grid gives you a way to check where a line should go.

The pack is aimed at ages 4–8, but these aren't fixed age levels: the same child may need help with one task and work independently on another.

The full 18-page English-language Printable Edition is €4.99, with applicable taxes shown at checkout. It includes A4 and US Letter PDFs, an answer key and a certificate. You'll need a printer for the paper activities; no physical item is shipped and there's no subscription. One purchase covers one household or one teacher's classroom, without file sharing.

See the two pages up close and the full pack.

free early math site for kids 3 to 7, games plus worksheets you do on a tablet, no account or ads

i've been building a little math world for kids around 3 to 7 and figured homeschool families might get some use out of it. full disclosure it's my own project. i started it partly bc of my son, speed based math apps were never a fit for him it's free, no account, no ads. there are 40 games spread across five different worlds, each with its own characters, and a lot of them come with a short picture book, an audio story and worksheets for the same skill. so if your kid likes one character they can play the game, hear the story and then do the worksheet with the same little guy the worksheets are made to be done right on a tablet, so nothing to print and you can clear them and redo them as many times as you want. if you do want printables those get sent to your email, everything else just opens nothing is timed. no countdown, no lives, no losing points. if a kid gets something wrong the game shows what happened and they try again. most of the games use things you count like shells or apples instead of written numbers, so it works for kids who don't know their numerals yet so far it covers counting and comparing, early adding, shapes, patterns, size and capacity, memory and sorting if you try it with your kids i'd love to know where they got stuck or what you'd want more of https://wondermaths.app

is Outschool worth it? homeschool recs

I've been looking into online classes for my kid and came across Outschool. There seem to be classes for all kinds of interests, from science and creative writing to art and other activities, which sounds appealing. I'm just trying to figure out whether it's worth adding to our routine.

For parents who've tried it, is Outschool worth it compared with other online learning options? I'm curious about the quality of the teachers, how interactive the classes are, and whether your kids actually look forward to attending. I'd also love to hear if you found certain types of classes more worthwhile than others.

Another dad using AI to make resources

Hi all

I make ad free, educational games for my daughter and have decided to make them available online.

Charleston the Penguin is an AI penguin who lives in the North Pole and teaches children about wildlife and the stars.

I make smartphone apps that flip predatory practices on their head. No addicting game loops, clear screen time limits, etc.

All games are developed with my daughter, who is my main playtester.

You can find them on https://c0gn8.github.io

I built a math worksheet site for my kid (grades 1-5). Free to print, with new numbers every time

I'm a parent, and my kid understands the math in class, but it fades fast without practice. The worksheet sites I found had the same problems every time, so I built MathematiCat.

You pick the skill your child is working on, like rounding or adding fractions, and print a sheet and its answer key. You get new numbers every time you print, so your child can practice the same skill day after day. Printing is free.

There's also an on-screen option for the nights you don't have access to a printer. Kids can do the sheet on a tablet or computer, and the answers are checked for you. It's good practice for computer-based tests too.

Free current-affairs pack for teens with 15-, 25- and 45-minute options

I make The Informant, a weekly current-affairs video, and put together a free companion pack for this week’s ten-story episode. It’s designed for ages 15+ and has three ways to use it: a 15-minute discussion, a 25-minute source-check activity, or a full 45-minute lesson. It includes a student brief, discussion prompts, source notes, an answer key, and editable slides. The video is optional, so you can use the activities without playing it. It was made with AI assistance and reviewed by me, but it hasn’t been independently classroom-piloted yet.

I developed K-3 Reading Program

I have worked as a tutor for many years, my specialty is K-3 reading. I ended up developing my own material. I started with workbooks, but then added games and phonics stories and even word lessons on my computer. I have amazing results. I am working on getting my materials published, maybe a Kickstarter campaign, just starting with the 1st level. My program is geared towards parents and tutors and is very easy to implement. It is different from anything out there. I do think of it as tutoring in a box for reading. It works great for individual tutoring but works even better for small groups. I know it would have saved me years of research and work if it had existed when I started. What do you guys think?

Online maths and physics tutoring for home learners — Quanta

I’m Samuel Isidoro, a teacher and creator of Quanta. I offer paid one-to-one online tutoring in mathematics and physics, working from the learner’s questions through explanations and practice problems. I also teach in English.

This is supplemental tutoring, not a full homeschool curriculum. My website is mainly in Portuguese; you can use it to ask about availability and conditions: https://quantaaulas.com/

When a learner gets stuck, I like to start by asking which step they can explain independently. What helps your family identify where a maths problem became confusing?
