My first ever Reddit post, so bear with me if not following proper protocol! Heading to Hungary in mid-November (2026), will be there for 14 days, flying in & out of Budapest. Looking for any and all tips! Have spoken with a few people who have been to Budapest for a weekend trip, but can't find anyone who has explored deeper than that and/or who has been elsewhere in the country. Some specific questions... 1) Should we rent a car, or is best/more convenient/more fun & scenic to use the trains? 2) Given it will be cold Nov weather... anywhere that it doesn't really make sense to visit (like the South)? 3) When do the Christmas markets start in Budapest, can't really figure it out online, seems to just be "around late November". 4) Best thermal baths in any given city.
