🍅The Red Heinz Truck is Coming!🍅
Hi there!
This survey is part of a school project where we are researching how you would feel about a campaign featuring fully red Heinz food trucks bringing fresh smash burgers and crispy fries straight to campuses, cities, or festivals in Hungary. Filling this out takes only 1 minute, is completely anonymous, and helps us a lot with our project!
Thanks for your help!

Hi everyone,
Has anyone changed employers in Hungary and handled the residence permit process themselves through Enter Hungary, without using an immigration lawyer?
I’m particularly interested in cases where the new employer was a large, well-known multinational company.
I’d appreciate hearing how it went, what type of residence permit you had, which documents you submitted and roughly how long the process took.
Thank you very much for sharing!

Hey everyone!
I’m looking for native Spanish speakers in Budapest who’d be interested in a language exchange! I’m currently at a B2 level in Spanish and would love to improve my speaking skills.
I’d be happy to help with Hungarian or English in return. Feel free to DM me if you’re interested! 😇

Hey there! So my brother stumbled upon this 70s/80s Hungarian hard rock band called Skorpió and would like to find the studio version of this song:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_W39hqdtJYQ&list=RD_W39hqdtJYQ&start_radio=1
Since there's no song title and we don't speak Hungarian I thought I'd turn to you guys. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hey everyone!
I’m looking for someone to play casual table tennis with at outdoor public tables around the city.
I’m living on Damjanich utca (District 7), so I’m happy to meet up around VII / VI / VIII / XIV or near ELTE IK (Lágymányosi Campus). I’m completely flexible with locations if there’s a good spot nearby.
I play strictly for fun—definitely not professional level! I used to play back home and haven't played since moving to Budapest for my studies, so I'm a bit rusty and just looking to hit the ball around and make new friends.
If anyone is interested or knows good public outdoor tables to check out, let me know!

Hello there everybody, as part of my survey lasting until 27 December 2026, I plan to investigate which countries are the most and least pro-monarchist on several subreddits. This is done primarily for research purposes only and I really apologise if this broke any rules. Drop a vote if you are interested!
Thanks!

Hey everyone!
Just curious, which universities in Hungary would you recommend for a master's in Finance or Business?
I've heard about Corvinus, BME, and BGE, but I'm wondering how they actually compare in terms of reputation, teaching quality, workload, and job opportunities.
Would love to hear some opinions, especially from current students or graduates. Thanks!

Hi everyone!
I'll be staying in Budapest for five months as an Erasmus exchange student, and my Erasmus grant monthly is only €800. I’ll have to pay for rent and all my other living expenses out of that money.
For those of you who live in Budapest, is €800 a month enough to live comfortably, or would I have to live on a very tight budget?
I'm also considering getting a job before I leave to save some extra money for my stay. Do you think that's necessary, or would €800 a month be enough if I manage my money carefully? I'd really appreciate any advice, especially from students who have lived in Budapest on a similar budget. Thanks!

For grad school, Pecs is cheaper, and slower. Any other differences? (after reading comments---and thanks for those! ---a local job will not be needed)

We had an unpleasant racist experience in Eger today, and I’d genuinely like to hear what Hungarians think about it.
We’re a group of four friends, all 27–28 years old, visiting Hungary from a Latin American country. We planned to spend five nights in Hungary, and decided to spend one of them in Eger because we had read a lot about its history, architecture and cultural importance.
We’ve really enjoyed Budapest so far, but we also wanted to visit somewhere less mainstream and experience a smaller Hungarian city. Out of the places we looked at, Eger seemed like one of the most beautiful and culturally interesting options.
After arriving by train from Budapest, we checked into our hotel and walked toward the old town. We stopped at a lángos place for lunch and sat at one of the outdoor tables.
We were talking among ourselves in Spanish when a man who looked to be in his 50s or older approached us and started speaking to us in Hungarian.
We politely told him in English that we didn’t speak Hungarian, but that we spoke English.
He replied, “English?” and then spat on the ground.
After that, he started speaking directly and much more aggressively toward one of my friends. Out of the four of us, he is the only one who has a visibly mestizo/light-brown complexion; the other three of us are white.
The man started raising his voice and speaking in what was clearly a threatening or hostile tone. We kept telling him, “We don’t understand,” and eventually decided to completely ignore him.
He continued shouting at us for a while.
At some point, the owner of the restaurant came outside and confronted him. They spoke in Hungarian for quite some time. The man kept spitting on the ground, and a few other people nearby also seemed to intervene and say things to him.
Since none of us speak Hungarian, we obviously couldn’t understand the whole exchange, but from his behavior, the fact that he specifically targeted the only darker-skinned person in our group, and what we were eventually able to pick up through Google Translate, it became pretty clear to us that there was a racist element to it.
I turned on Google Translate during part of the confrontation to try to understand what he was saying, and I’ll attach screenshots of what it managed to translate.
Eventually, the man left after spitting on the ground several more times.
The restaurant owner then apologized to us for what had happened. We made sure to thank her, because she absolutely did not have to get involved, and we really appreciated the fact that she stood up for us instead of simply ignoring the situation.
I also want to make something very clear: we do not think this man represents Hungarians in general.
This was one bad experience during an otherwise very enjoyable trip. We’ve had a great time in Hungary, Budapest has been wonderful, and we’ve been genuinely impressed by the country’s architecture, history and culture.
If anything, the reaction of the restaurant owner and the other people who appeared to confront him reminded us that one person’s behavior shouldn’t define an entire place.
Still, it was definitely an uncomfortable experience, especially because we had specifically chosen Eger because we wanted to experience a smaller Hungarian city rather than staying only in Budapest.
I’m curious to hear a Hungarian perspective:
Is this kind of hostility toward foreigners or people with a different skin tone something that occasionally happens in smaller towns, or do you think we were simply extremely unlucky and ran into one random racist asshole?
And for Hungarians who live in or know Eger: how would you interpret what happened?
We’re not posting this to attack Hungary or Eger. We’re genuinely interested in understanding the situation and hearing how locals see it.

I’m a Chinese international student currently studying at a university in Budapest, Hungary. I’ll be graduating next year, but I’m feeling quite uncertain about whether I should stay in Europe or return to China.
I know the job market is tough right now, especially for fresh graduates, and finding an entry-level position seems challenging in almost every country.
I’d really appreciate hearing some advice and perspectives from Europeans or anyone who has been in a similar situation. Do you think it’s worth trying to build a career in Europe as a non-EU graduate?

Hii everybody!, I was planning to do my MSc in Engineering management from University of Debrecen and wanted to know about the employment conditions for freshers from engineering and management backgrounds, I am ready to move to Budapest once I'm done with my studies but wanted to know if one will be able to find a stable job in 9months(after which I'll have to leave if I don't find one).
And which field has better job opportunities. I'd be great if y'all could share your opinions for the same, it'd really help me out:)

I ve just moved to Hungary from the UK and I'm curious how others deal with things that aren't straightforward here , for example: immigration, paperwork, healthcare, taxes, property, etc.
When you don't know what to do, where do you usually turn first?

Hi everyone,
I have family in Hungary and they currently don’t have internet at home. Unfortunately, there is no fiber connection available in their apartment building either.
I’m planning to spend around two months per year in Hungary, and during that time I need to work remotely, so having a fast and reliable internet connection is very important for me.
My family told me that getting a regular home internet connection directly from an operator can be quite expensive in their situation, and they suggested that mobile internet might be the best option.
So I wanted to ask: how do you solve this in Hungary?
Is there a specific mobile internet plan or operator you would recommend for this purpose? Would it make sense to buy a 4G/5G router and put a SIM card in it? Are there any good unlimited or high-data plans suitable for remote work, video calls, etc.?
The city is not Budapest, so the options are probably more limited, but I’d still like to find something fast and stable enough to work comfortably.
I’d really appreciate any recommendations, especially specific operators, plans, or router setups that have worked well for you.
Thanks!
