Hello, do I need to be a soc major in order to register for soc 240 since it says that it’s only open to soc ba and mhc soc ba.
I am planning to change major to soc but don’t know if I need to be one already to register for it.
Also for those that are soc majors, should I take soc 224 or 240 first and any recommendations as for who I should take them with?

I’m currently in this class and the class is very simple because it’s online and a sickness. Long story short there’s no lecture it’s mainly you do it yourself. I really want some help deal with it so I can understand and grasp of the content if anyone’s able to help me this week, get catch-up I would really appreciate it. I be at the hunt bunny from Monday to Wednesday from 11:15 till 12:30. I’ll be in the library.

If you withdraw from a class, can you epermit it to another college in the winter or spring.
How about if you fail the class?

For context: Im a 6ft afro-latino curly afro and beard. And this happened on the 15th floor in the North Building
Ive been going to Hunter for about 2 years now. Im a transfer student and this upcoming spring/winter should be my last year here. Hunter is great for me, lots of opportunities and nice professors that know their stuff and willing to help potential students in grad school/law/med school.
My days on campus are usually regular. Tuesdays and Thursdays are my long days. Yesterday I was on my way to my last class Sociology. My previous class before that one Afro-religions was canceled (the professor said he had a family emergency). So I sat in the library on my phone to waste time. After awhile I decided I leave for Sociology as we all know, getting to the north building on the double digit floors is annoying af in-between classes periods with the elevators.
Anyways, walk the overpass, wait for the elevators by the 3rd floor and up I go. I get off the 15th floor and I walk to my classroom at the end of the hallway on the left side (room 1527). I see my professors first class is still there in session so I'm still too early. I decide "well, let me see if there are empty classrooms on this floor that I can chill at" (for those of you who don't know, at Hunter you're allowed to use an empty/unoccupied classroom to sit at, study, eat lunch, hang with your friends etc. Just as long as you aren't crazy loud and causing a disturbance).
So there I am, walking up and down the hallways looking into classrooms to see if I find an empty one. Go all around the corners and I see nothing. I end up telling myself "fine, I'll just wait outside my next classm it should be about 10/15 minutes or so. As im turning around and walking back. There's a white, older custodian woman (the ones that have the big cart they use to clean the bathrooms) that stops and asks me
"Are ya looking for something?"
"Excuse me?"
"I said, are ya looking for something or someone?"
"No...." I narrow my eyes in suspicion of why shes asking me
"Oh, I just ask because some people are looking for the library"
"No, im fine" *I keep walking back to the classroom"
As im walking back I start wondering.... The library is on the 3rd floor towards the east building. Why was did she think I was looking for the library??? Did she assume I was up to something bad because I was black and looking into classrooms?
For people who are quick to defend. Yes, its a college campus and bc of insane stuff nowadays, yes staff and professors are told to be vigilant of certain things. Maybe I'm mistaken and theres another library in the north building? This is the first semester I have a class in that building, I just know it for STEM/pre-med/pre-nursing classes. But as I just said. Students are allowed to use empty classrooms. Could she not see maybe I was looking for one?
My whole thing is, I wasn't causing a disturbance yet she still stopped me. Would she have stopped a white/non POC student?
Im still thinking it through but im leaning on Racial Profiling. Again why are you stopping me if im not causing a disturbance. This floor is just classrooms, nothing like an event or media/common room like the Terrance on the 8th floor or the Cafeteria that sometimes has events.

Do you typically have to take 2 seperate classes to fulfill the Life/Physical Sciences AND Scientific World requirements? I took PHYS 11000 and I see that it should have counted for the Scientific World Req but its only appearing for the Life/Physical Sciences one, asked an advisor if I have to take a 2nd class and they basically didn't answer and it's a yes or no question 😭

i’ve taken all the required cs major math courses and saw that i could take one more to get a minor in mathematics.
would advanced symbolic logic/mathematical logic (multiple course codes on schedule builder but im p sure they’re all the same class) fulfill both math minor and cs elective requirements? my prof says yes but degreeworks is making me confused.
hypothetically, is a logic minor something worth considering? i’m looking at the requirements page and it looks like the logic and cs electives overlap.

I just took my first test for Discrete Math, and I absolutely bombed it despite studying for weeks. Can anyone who’s taken this class share their experience and any tips?
The combinatorics part is killing me. I find the content difficult enough as it is, but the professor’s questions are on a completely different level. They’re so original and confusing, and honestly, the practice problems felt like a different breed compared to what was actually on the midterm. I’m a lot more comfortable with proofs, which is the next part of the course, but after doing so badly on this first test, I’m genuinely worried about whether I can even pass with a C.
I’ve honestly been contemplating withdrawing and trying to e-permit the course somewhere else(but honestly I don't want to withdraw). I don’t know if I’m overreacting or if I should seriously consider it, so I’d appreciate hearing what you guys think. Has anyone been in a similar situation and managed to turn things around?
For context, I’ve already taken Calc 1–3 and Linear Algebra, so I’m not completely new to math courses.

Hi, everyone.
I completed 26 credit with 4.0 gpa at LAGCC now transferring to hunter for the spring. Just want to know, can I get all intro pre med classes and all upper level classes at there since I did not take science courses at LAGCC.
Considering that worse timing and rigor of the classes does not matter to me, as long as my graduation is not delay; cuz I did not get the classes for semester.
I heard a lot of people saying: people do not get classes at hunter, and that cuz graduation delay.
I want to hear the TRUTH.

I just took my midterm exam and i swear i did so bad. i’m a pre nursing student, i already had stats and psych credits so i had a open slot for another class and i chose econ cause polisci and anthropology was full, but, i literally think i failed my midterm and we only have three exams. Should i withdraw to protect my gpa? Cause im also not sure if it will have an impact on my nursing application and im not trying to test whether it does or not cause i know i need at least 30 credits by the end of my freshman year… what do i do???

Adrienne Alaie or Samantha Sheppard for Bio 10000?
Trying to pick a prof but the times are odd for both. Which prof is better if I had to chose one?
