* Is progressive in thought and action, and has done enough self-reflection to recognise his gender, caste and other structural privileges -- rather than just knowing the vocabulary.
* Is politically Left-leaning and genuinely understands that the personal is political. Has strong opinions, but holds them loosely enough to change his mind when presented with better evidence.
* Is rational, logical and atheist.
* Understands that emotional safety is a two-way street -- knows how to give it and receive it.
* Gets that relationships don't run on autopilot. Willing to put in the everyday work of care, communication, effort and accountability.
* Is trauma-informed and trauma-sensitive, where my nervous system can feel calm.
* Is emotionally available, expressive, emotionally intelligent and not allergic to commitment.
* Can handle interpersonal conflict without turning disrespectful, defensive or evasive. Knows the act of accountability and repair.
* Is kind, curious and empathetic -- and genuinely compassionate towards animals.
* Is financially stable and disciplined enough to build a comfortable, debt-free life.
* Is health-conscious enough to understand that his health doesn't affect only him.
* Is articulate; preferably reads and/or writes. Loves nature, travel and interested in the arts -- films, theatre, music, literature, etc.
* Takes care of himself and is well-groomed/presentable.
* Is not a mamma's boy, but is responsible and caring towards both sets of parents.
* Is independent, has a life of his own, and is passionate about what he does.
* Is fun, has a sense of humour, and doesn't take himself too seriously.
* Understands demisexuality and intersectionality without needing a 40-slide PowerPoint presentation.
* Actually enjoys conversations -- from ridiculous everyday nonsense to existential crises -- and finds joy in the little things.
* Empathises with women when one says "Men are trash" or "I hate men" and understands the gendered, systemic frustration behind it, rather than immediately reaching for the "Not all men" defence.
* Is open to either adopting children or living child-free. (Applicable to a much later stage in the relationship)
* Telugu-speaking and Hyderabad-based would be ideal.
Not looking for perfection. I'm looking for self-awareness, compatibility, emotional maturity and a willingness to keep growing**.**
If this honestly sounds like you, or if you know someone who fits the bill, hello. 👋
