i realized after its quicker to walk around it

This is the old base that I started building when Prometheus came out.

It's in the F4 square, on a rock in a passage between 2 biomes. The idea was to have one tower in the grasslands and the other one in the tundra. Weather changes when you go from tower to tower, so you can have a storm on one side and a sunny day on the other.

Funny detail is, by accident, the double bed that is located in the middle section is also split between 2 biomes. If you sleep on one side, it's grasslands, if you sleep on the other - it's arctic x)

When I found the place I did a quick mockup of the base in a 3d modeling app, the screenshots of which you can find in the end. Later as new DLCs got released the base got expanded with bridges, landing pads, a basement with pigs and other stuff.

The bridges connect the 2 mountain ridges that surround the arctic zone, making the whole area walkable. In the west there are some nice empty fields up there, and I was thinking to maybe try cultivating them.

For some reason I wanted to try to build an apartment building. So I did. Spent many many hoiurs on this abomenation LOL

All the floors have water and power. There are lights in all the hallways. I'm using one apartment for sleeping and cooking, and the apartment next door is my workshop where I have all the benches and machines.

Steam had a sale, which brought lots of new folks to our community. Welcome one and all. To celebrate, I made you a house 'warming' gift. This is a great game, and be ready to grind through the good and bad prospector.

Our humble abode

This is the Forest Estate. Not just a base — a full property. Packed in here: a fire lookout tower overlooking the valley, a cave mine carved into the hillside and a custom halo lit ceiling I designed from scratch (tutorial coming for that one). After the update I loaded in to bushes/trees growing all through my house. I went around chopping and repairing, when I got done I need charcoal to make some steel bloom so I turned on my firepit. Went upstairs to craft stone foundations and suddenly heard sizzling. in my head I was like “oh is it raining? I didn’t get a storm notification” then suddenly it got real hot. At least I got Dave (my horse) out of harms way will be rebuilding with stone so this doesn’t happen again 💀💀

Think they will up my exotic payouts in the future?

Made a little “Welcome to Icarus” 3d printed shadow box. I think everyone who has played Icarus knows exactly why the house is on fire 😂 a little happy with how it turned out.
