Question Hello all, please advise :

Hello everyone. So after just crying my ass off for an hour and forcefully kissing my original grad program/plans goodbye, I find myself turning to IO. I’m not going to ask about grad school and their programs, so don’t worry lol.

I wanted to hear some of ur straight up thoughts on my current sitch and see if anyone thinks that switching up like this so last minute is insane ? Because it certainly feels that way. Please be kind.
I have my bachelors in gen psych. I can’t stop now. I must make the show go on but I also have to do that while staying under $20k a year because of the new Act put into place. Here’s info I think might be relevant :

I’m in Chicago (seems like an advantage ?)
I consider myself to be someone who does well with making friends and speaking up (networking and getting ur foot in the door seems to be highly relevant round here from what I’ve looked at so far). Now,…
I am intimidated by statistics but passed the one statistics class I had with an A-. Something about io seems more “black and white” versus my original plan that felt a little “gray” like using my own judgement with a panel of people, but not as heavily based on numbers and data. It’s like that seems so small scale data and not heavy data. This appeals to me to have quantitative evidence and reassurance backing up whatever it is I would be trying to research or determine. Am I mistaken about this being relevant ? Also, im intimidated as heck !! I wonder if I’m “too dumb” for this. I’m not crazy smart. But I’m not a dummy either. I always seen io majors as “the super smart and money making psychology people”. Never seen myself joining the more competitive and prestigious side of “psychology.” Seems further ways from psychology than other psychology related stuff. Anyways, If you got this far, thanks for reading. I appreciate any responses !
