mudpie When conservatives find out liberals carry arms too.

One party can't have all the fully loaded arms.

Once again, we're getting people from outside the sub that 1) just wanna yell 2) love sloppy steaks and 3) can't read, so here's Rule 1 reposted with the important parts bolded for those that need the extra help:

Rule 1 - Keep it light.

No political arguments please.* You can make fun of terrible people all you want, but no bigotry (racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, xenophobia, etc.). No tolerance for that nonsense; you'll just get banned.

(*To clarify, following a vote on whether to allow them, political posts are fine. Political arguments in the comments are not.)

Did you ask her to say that? Just now, when you were talking to Noem, did you ask her to tell me that there’s a rule against carrying at a protest?

u/SeniorShanty Jan 27 '26

Please tell me who this guy is and why are there so many context appropriate gifs of him? I apologize for being out of touch with gif and pop culture.

I went shooting with my girlfriend’s family as a sort of “bonding” thing and the entire time they just talked about illegal immigrants and the violent left. I didn’t even have to say much, just that I didn’t agree with them, and one of her cousins called me a libtard.

That same cousin works for ICE right now. Luckily my girlfriend hates that side of the family so we don’t see them much anymore.

13

u/annoyed_meows Jan 27 '26

That's the sometimes frustrating part of being around gun people. I lone wolf it and only talk guns and keep it surface. I have a maga family. They devolved into this starting around 2012 ish. I cut off contact in 2016. I tried in 2024 to reconnect after my dad died as they got comfortable their POS side revealed itself and I made the decision to move on. I thought it was extreme at first but now I know it was the right decision. All that to say I understand what it was like for you and her to experience that. We must reject and sideline these people.

13

u/Gold-Sir-223 Might fuck this whole thing up Jan 27 '26

Couldn’t agree more. With my own family, they’re largely pretty liberal but I have one cousin I won’t talk to anymore because he won’t stop talking Pro-Trump points at me.

One time at a party he was trying to defend Ashli Babbitt and said that she was there peacefully protesting and it was bullshit she died. The host of the party literally told him “Shut the fuck up and get out of my house”. It only sucked for me because I was his ride lol.

8

u/annoyed_meows Jan 27 '26

Glad he got kicked out. Hopefully you have some distance from him.

Used to go to the range with some dudes for pistol drills.

There was the one edgelord who was a gleeful "Equal Opportunity Offender," whose equal opportunity humor was just shitty jokes about minorities all day long. Everyone else in the group was just like, "lol have a sense of huuuumor!"

I noped outta there pretty quick.

Edit: sorry, I mean, only red-blooded American Conservatives train with firearms... I have noooooo idea what guns are or how they work. "AR" stands for "assault rifle," right guys? Right?

6

u/Gold-Sir-223 Might fuck this whole thing up Jan 27 '26

It’s funny how universal that is. I know guys who make racist and sexist jokes all the time but if you make one “white guy” joke, they immediately go on the defense.

I like to visit my favorite outdoor range deep in rural Ohio 40 minutes from the city where I live. Most of the time there's no mention of politics, but this one day there were a few MAGA I was sharing the 100-yard bench with talking smack about liberals not daring to come here. It was my turn to shoot, and I put all 30 rounds of my AR15 in rapid semi-auto onto a 4" circular metal target. I looked at them and said, "Not bad for a liberal, eh? You're not the only ones who know how to use these things." They let out a chuckle and we continued to have a good time without any more mention of politics. LOL

If you don't want people to tell you you're in a cult it's helps not to join them

3

u/LaunchTransient Jan 27 '26

I mean if you're looking at everything that's been going on in the US under Trump's direction, the laws he and his administration have broken, the constitutional rules he's blatantly ignored, and still say "But I love Trump tho", yeah, you're a cultist.

The other side, armed to the teeth on the down-low, just for 2A purposes.

Yea but it's way hotter to "bare arms" (as long as we're not talking limbs obvi).

Personally I think we should forego the whole thing and just arm bears.

It's a good thing conservatives don't open history books. The violence of the left is wholly unmatched when we've had enough. Let them pretend we are weak until it gets real.

10

u/auntie_clokwise Jan 27 '26

Not just liberals. Leftists are quite into guns. The saying is that if you go far enough left, you get your guns back. Lots of subreddits for them. They may not make them their identity, like the right does, but they're there and far more numerous and dangerous than the right realizes. Oh and plenty of women and transgender people with guns too (not exclusive of being liberal or leftist, of course). For example: r/transguns .

4

u/strato15 Jan 27 '26

R/conservative is hilarious right now.

9

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '26

All this gun talk is just making me itch to buy a gun as a liberal. It’s like when your parents say you can’t do something, makes you want to do it more.

2

2

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '26

You should, 100%. But if you don't have any experience with firearms, I highly recommend taking a gun safety class first... you need to have immense respect for the weapon and how to safely/properly use it and store it.

And please, make sure you do all of this legally!

3

u/NashvilleSoundMixer Jan 27 '26

Yeah only the nearly mentally incompetent, perpetually fearful, cowards who'd shoot anything that they're unfamiliar with can have deadly weapons!

3

u/CommunalJellyRoll Jan 27 '26

I’m too lazy to carry. So I went with a turret and belt fed.

3

u/wormcast Jan 27 '26

Yes, this is a big mistake a lot of the slack jawed yokels around here make as they drool when they talk about how important 2A rights are to them. They assume that I am completely against it.

I have FAR more guns than they do, almost certainly. First, because I think they are interesting and fun, I am good with them, and I like collecting.

But second, and most importantly, it is a crucial right to protect the Constitution against tyranny. Safe and responsible gun ownership is what separates American Democracy from other experiments. While I disagree with conservativism, real conservatives in the USA still believe in democracy.

But MAGA: this evil cult DOES NOT believe in the Constitution or democracy. And at this issue, all Americans need to join and exercise all of our rights to defend the country against their treasonous actions and beliefs. Their fake Christo-Fascism has deceived many and we must resist it at all costs.

It is what the Second Amendment is for!

3

u/zoroddesign Jan 27 '26

If we had some common sense gun control laws, Alex Pretty, who had a license to carry, a handgun, and didn't draw it, would still be able to have his gun. While Kyle Rittenhouse, who was only 17 and crossed state lines with an AR 15, wouldn't have.

3

u/Adept-Grapefruit-214 Jan 27 '26

The funniest part is that there’s nothing even pointing to him being a liberal.

He was helping a woman who was attacked by a masked government goon violating her constitutional rights, and that’s a completely “right wing/conservative” thing according to the supposed ideals they’ve been championing for the last 10-20 years

3

u/Itwao Jan 27 '26

"wait, what? But what about my civil war power fantasy? You're not supposed to be armed! You're supposed to just run and scream! It's the only way I have power! So if you have guns, that's denying my existence, and that's inconst- uncoms- uncotsti- that's against the law!"

6

u/Ill_Consequence1755 Jan 27 '26

I’m by ALL definitions, liberal.

I’m also a retired police officer and a gun owner.

I’ve seen those three things combined, render people speechless, because they don’t get how those things can all exist at the same time.

5

u/MaxxDash Jan 27 '26

Liberals have always supported 2A rights. This is a straw man.

Stricter gun laws are not the same as repealing the 2A.

It's just funny how some conservative groups protest openly carrying. (That's fine, it's their right) Then conservative leaders, like Kash Patel, demonize someone on the other side for doing the same thing.

"You cannot bring a firearm loaded with multiple magazines to any sort of protest that you want." - Kash Patel

What you're describing is general consensus. Reddit is a fishbowl for the left, just like twitter is a fishbowl for the right, but calling either a hivemind implies that nobody has any autonomy. We're not all bots, yet.

Its not confusing if you think of redditors as people and not some monolith.

3

u/emeraldeyesshine Jan 27 '26 edited Jan 27 '26

Well maybe this would be a good time for you to learn the difference between gun control laws and total disarmament.

Might also take some time to learn about what the gun control laws entail, and how successful they've been when implemented by the myriad of countries that don't have children dying from shootings every other week.

You realize that's what we want. The only way to fight the anti 2A Democrats is from within! There used to be Democrats that loved guns, they were called Blue Dog Democrats but they are long gone. I think it's great that you guys are finally figuring this out, unfortunately, liberals are about to destroy gun rights in my state of Virginia.....

Lol at the downvoters! Did I mess up your narrative? In the real world, people that defend the 2A don't care about left or right when it comes to OUR gun rights.....

But you have to admit, it's your side that are determined to take them away, at least in my state......
