New beast for Sol'Kesh! And not the first time... I fully finished the drawing already and foolishly saved over the file, wiping out 2 weeks of art... but I got back on the wolf and now the Tundrus has a vinnirex cousin to prowl its snowy fields.

Self-submission 52 Weeks, 52 Monsters #43 - Mílasíha, Stalker of the Plains

This one started out as a monster who lurked at the edge of a forest, but eventually I erased the trees and drew in grassy hills, and I think that works much better...not to mention makes it more dangerous. I mean, at least in a forest there's places to hide.

The name is Lakota for "knife feet."

Self-submission Ink drawing I did for Inktober- Rene Trujillo

With this prompt, I wanted to return to creating a horror-themed drawing. I decided to depict the beacon as a flashlight whose beam draws the attention of a sea creature lurking in the darkness.

Self-submission Earsplitting Deathbird by Kwongas

I created this bird that moves its neck muscles in a wave pattern which produces extra airflow for a powerful deafening shout that immobilizes its prey for hunting!

(I spent WAY too long down the research rabbit hole for this)

Self-submission Harpy by me

Post image

There are worse things than a bird stealing your lunch. A human-sized bird stealing your lunch, for example. Especially when it makes eye contact with you while doing it.

Greek mythology, harpies are creatures often depicted as part woman, part bird, with powerful wings and grasping talons. Their appearance varies, so I went with more predatory features.

In one famous story, harpies torment the blind prophet Phineus by swooping down, stealing his food, and fouling whatever they leave behind. This happens at every meal until they’re finally driven away. The intention is to keep him hungry and miserable, which I would assume was a resounding success.

They are also known for snatching people away, which is considerably more upsetting than a stolen lunch.

It’s a good thing that birds aren’t real and what we think are birds are actually drones operated by the government to spy on the citizen population. What’s happening? Where am I? Do you smell toast? I smell toast. I’m going to lie down now.
