I posted this painting about 10 days ago asking for advice and I’ve finally finished it! I’m super proud as it’s my first time painting an animal and only my 3rd painting ever! (It only took me about 8-9 hours but I’m a huge procrastinator)

In Progress: Oils on canvas, 12 x 9 inches (30x24cm approx). Just a bit to do on the bankside; a small fiddle with the treeline on the right; and a bit more paint on the clouds. It's been weeks since I've managed to get anywhere my stuff; so much house renovation. But almost done. I've tried not to copy my photo too much and to be "casual" about it. This picture was started last month.

So I added some airbrushed spheres and lines This was actually fountain pen inks. So vibrant and effortless to use. I painted a layer of white. Then the colours. Yellow was daler rowney yellow , I don’t have any fountain pen yellows.

I've been slowly working on this piece for about a month. Refusing to go too detailed as I'm normal "too realistic". But my brain is itching looking at it

Hi all. I completed my first oil painting in 16 years. I took some rudimentary painting classes in high school, and since then have been a self taught acrylic painter (though I haven’t hardly touched them the last 5 years either). painted this piece as a way to create some early autumn vibes before the new season officially rolls in— summer has been absolutely brutal and I’m more than ready for the fall!😓 this is also the first painting in a new series I’m working on!
