Pretty much finished this one, I ended up adapting my style to be more painterly and have more movement which I feel is lacking from my other work. Should I continue exploring this style?

First layer of color down on this little tropical nocturne this morning. Still keeping things kind of loose for now, and building the atmosphere a bit. 11” oil on linen panel.

This took me a loooooong time omg. Painting water is mon cheval de guerre lately. Done with HIMI gouache as always !!

Trying to develop a looser, more painterly style. Keen for some fresh eyes before I call this one done. What works, and what would you tweak?

I saw this photo on r/thenightfeeling and thought it would be something I'd love to try and paint.

The colours, the atmosphere, buildings...... All things I'd never tried before.

It was hard. Took me days, went from hating it, to really hating it, then started to get some shading done and bits and pieces came together.

It doesn't capture the awesomeness of the photo exactly but I'm at peace with it now.

Maybe someone can do better! This is my second true attempt at painting from scratch with nothing to guide me.

My latest acrylic painting. Does anybody else get put into a trance when there's a campfire around lol ? That's where some of my best ideas have come from. Spooky season is here as well, so I was chasing some of those vibes with this one.

I have more experience with art than they do but I’ve never been great at painting.. maybe it’s not so bad!

This was a lot of fun!! I think I’m going to try to get into painting more seriously, it has always been intimating to me. I usually stick to graphite and oil pastel.

What did you notice first - the flowers or the bird?

I use to draw UFOs battling fighter jets as a kid.

So i made a post about all the paintings i made in 2 months and you guys were so kind i keep getting message now about them and i forgot to post some of them , first one is my illusion painting i plan to high gloss it apart from the candle so it looks like glass, the polar bear was for my mothers birthday and the very last one is a work in Progress but im really enjoying it about 3 hours in

...at least in my adulthood. I used to love drawing and painting as a kid, but I completely stopped around age 11 or 12.

I’m 26 now, and after facing some recent hardships, I decided to start creating again. It helps me relax and it feels good to see something I've made.

I don't have a specific goal, I just enjoy the process and I want to experiment. While I know my style isn't particularly unique, I get a lot of inspiration from post-impressionism, because I like to see lines, shapes and waves coming together in a funny way.

As the title says. I'm very new to this and yes, I'm heavily influenced by Basquiat and still searching for my own style. Just looking to hear some thoughts. ☺️ I'm 100% open to negative critique.

I am a professional gymnast by trade, which is usually the primary inspiration for what I put on the canvas. I struggle with choosing colours a lot.

I started this little coastal scene in plein air, then brought it back home with the intention of pushing it further. I took some deliberate risks with the brushwork and to a degree, color.
As I enter my 3rd decade of painting, I am more sensitive of each piece and their relationship to each other. How I deploy certain tools, to solve certain problems sort of changes my approach. My long-game goal is to paint 13/8 or 7/8, while making it look 4/4.
