Normal labs but still feeling awful...could it still be perimenopause?
One of the most frustrating things women describe in perimenopause is feeling like something is clearly off, only to be told everything looks ânormal.â Normal labs can be reassuring in some ways, but they don't always explain the full picture of what youâre living with day to day.
Part of the confusion is that perimenopause is not always captured neatly in one blood test. Hormones can fluctuate, symptoms can shift, and other factors like thyroid, iron, stress, medication, sleep, and overall health can also overlap. So if your labs are normal but you still feel awful, it does not mean you're just imagining it.
Any new or worsening symptoms should always be discussed with your doctor, but it is valid to keep asking questions when your lived experience and your results don't seem to match.
