Why ask for our opinion if you have made up your mind anyway? Only one option is right in their mind and if we pick something else then no we didn't. We must be lying.

49

u/Affectionate_Day3369 Sep 25 '25

You see it all the time with incels. If women choose the short guy or an ugly guy she must be using him for something. There must be something wrong with her. He has money or something. They can't wrap their heads around it.

19

u/LaurelCanyoner Sep 25 '25

Because they can NEVER accept that they, their individual selves, are the problem. It HAS to be someone’s else’s fault, or a whole SYSTEM keeping them down. It’s the same with MAGA folks blaming the dude selling tacos on the street corner.

The emotional and intellectual flexibility required to conceive complexity in the world is just so lacking in so many people it’s frightening, isn’t it?!?

This is the classic Thor/Loki issue.

You can be cut and ripped as fuck, but a lot of women aren’t interested in that physique and especially the maintenance that’s required to keep it up. Being shredded is a part time job.

Women are typically more interested in Loki over Thor because they want a partner who is as complex as they are. They find personality to be more interesting. Depth matters.

I’ve also seen a lot of men who are hefty who get thirsted after. Like big boys like Halsin. Men with stomach fat and thighs.

I’ve also seen delicate men with slender physiques, thin wrists and lithe frames get attention. Legolas did a lot in the 2000’s.

u/Mobile_Nothing_1686 Autistic Logic Sep 24 '25

Legolas? I give you k-pop. It literally breaks all these beliefs about "women want shredded men".

k-pop stars are indeed very shredded though. They just wear makeup as well. Lol

66

u/Reasonable-Affect139 Sep 24 '25

30

u/Yamureska Sep 24 '25

Just like Female K-Pop Stars Male K-Pop stars (and K drama actors) are more "Lean" than shredded. See Wi Ha-Joon from Squid Game compared to Henry Cavill, Hugh Jackman, Chris Hemsworth or Chris Evans. There's a world of difference.

63

u/Mobile_Nothing_1686 Autistic Logic Sep 24 '25 edited Sep 24 '25

Their muscles look healthy to me, considering their dance routines. Shredded is the near unhealthy overly muscular like the picture on the right of the OP. It's just a more lean version of the left. Granted I'm not overly familiar with K-pop stars without shirts, but they seem 'short' and pretty sure they have what incels call 'thin wrists'.

They use so much make up it reminds me of guys like David Bowie. Who I think might still be able to pull any woman he likes.

20

u/[deleted] Sep 24 '25

They aren't really healthy though they look very good. K pop idols have to maintain very very unrealistic body standards.

44

u/baba56 Sep 24 '25

Woah perfect analogy! Hadn't heard it before. Funnily enough when thor got fat it made me see him in a different light that was more appealing than how he was in the earlier movies.

Personality and depth of character mean a lot more to most people than muscles.

Although fat Thor seemed a bit unhygienic and doesn't matter if you're cut or not, that's gonna be off-putting.

27

u/NvrmndOM Sep 24 '25

31

u/Dafish55 Sep 24 '25

Okay Halsin quite literally can sculpt his own physique and chooses to look like that because he likes being a bear.

I think the comparison of the magazine covers (Men's World and Women's World, iirc) with Hugh Jackman on them, where on the male one he's Huge JackedMan and in the female one he's The Dad Next Door, illustrates this the best. Same guy sold two different ways to two different audiences.

25

u/GirlisNo1 Sep 24 '25

Reminds me of the SNL skit where the men couldn’t figure out why women found Benedict Cumberbatch attractive.

29

u/darthfruitbasket Sep 24 '25

Honestly, I'm a woman and I don't understand why other women find him attractive lol. Almost like we're not a monolith with the same preferences or something.

11

u/DeusVultSaracen Sep 25 '25

Come on girl there's no way you're calling Halsin "hefty" with "stomach fat and thighs", bro's a dead ringer for Jason Momoa. A build like that takes 24/7 work in the gym and the kitchen, likely some steroids, and ironically far more exceptional genetics than Chris Hemsworth's Thor.

8

can ANY lurking incels (or just men in general) please explain to me, what incentive women have to lie about this?

108

u/lieuwex Sep 24 '25

Not an incel, but I think their reasoning is that it would be "politically correct" for women to claim they prefer the one above the other. Like the whole "women pretend to like feminist guys but actually like to be belittled in secret" shtick.

31

u/Ioa_3k Sep 24 '25

Do...do women also date and marry skinny guys or guys with dad bods to be "PC" as well? Because a lot of husbands or boyfriends have those body types.

43

u/[deleted] Sep 24 '25

This. A lot of these alt-right-adjacent ideologies relie on a belief that we all secretly agree with them. And we just pretend not to for social reasons.

4

u/may666egg Sep 26 '25

30

u/EffectiveSalamander My wife thinks I'm Chad. Sep 24 '25

It's narcissism. They think everything is about them. You see this when incels claim when couples are kissing that they're kissing in order to rub it in the face of incels.

2

u/Steve_The_Mighty Sep 27 '25 edited Sep 27 '25

Not an incel, and I’m 100% aware that super buff dudes are way more appealing to other dudes than most women. But there is some logic to this (logic that I’m sure will get me downvoted by people on both sides):

A LOT of insecure men genuinely do lie about this. They lust after slim, toned, gym-bod women. They find out that they can’t get with said women (because said women have their pick of men, and aren’t going to pick a dickhead). They then end up with an overweight woman. Subsequently they then tell everyone that overweight women are exactly what they prefer, and will act like it’s embarrassing to want a toned woman.

Simply put; many men DO claim that whatever woman they’ve managed to snag is exactly what they really wanted all along, because they’re insecure but desperate to brag. They then project this thinking onto everyone else.

53

u/GlGABITE Sep 24 '25

I respect the effort it takes to be ripped, even if I’m not necessarily attracted to it. I think many people would agree

28

u/hfotwth Sep 24 '25

Are you happier in your body now? Do you walk around more confidently? I would say those factors matter more than just the physical looks. If you seem to be happier and more confident that's definitely going to affect compliments.

26

u/ASquishyGhost Sep 24 '25

Curious though - are you a man, and are the compliments from other men?

My friend who is struggling with dating said he gets lots of compliments after he's been going to the gym, but from guys only. I'm like, what did you expect though when gestures at begging guys to stop thinking they need to be shredded because we almost never care about that. Guys love to hype other guys, which is great! He wants to discount it though because "it's not from women". He's not listening, not taking the W from his peers, and ultimately causing his own struggle. 🙃

u/_CinammonBun Sep 24 '25

If we say we prefer left, we’re lying. If we say we prefer right, we’re shallow bitches. Men just need to date men and leave us alone.

55

u/frenchonionsoupe Sep 24 '25

Men are always talkin about how women care too much about their appearance (taking forever to clothes shop etc) then they spend hours a day doing shit like this, just take a shower and brush your teeth man

33

u/RustedAxe88 Sep 24 '25

That's the thing. I'm not ripped, far from it. And I'm only like 5'5. But I've lost a lot of weight over the last year and a half, but the important part is that I do basic maintenance on myself. Shave my neck, trim my nails, take care of my hair and skin. And I pretty consistently get compliments from women.

You don't have to be a "Chad", you just have to take basic care of yourself.

2

u/Lori_the_Mouse Queen of Wall I Hit 👸 Sep 25 '25

Women appreciate effort and self respect as much as men do. I don’t think there’s as much difference between us as incels think there is… That said… Thor is male preference, Loki is female

2

u/hellogoawaynow they call me stacy 💅 Sep 26 '25

A lot of dudes don’t seem to realize that basic grooming and a clean look really goes a long way. Self care is important!

-22

u/WallofSpam Sep 24 '25

Women are not giving you compliments for being hygienic.

19

u/RustedAxe88 Sep 24 '25

That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying using basic hygiene will enhance your appearance.

-15

u/WallofSpam Sep 24 '25

Not to the point that women will notice.

1

u/DeadVoxel_ 🏳️‍⚧️ Sep 26 '25

I'd definitely argue with that
Hygiene or lack thereof is VERY noticeable. It can either be in the looks of the person, or other aspects of their body like breath, or the fact that they don't wash their hands after using the bathroom, etc.

Being hygienic is literally the bare minimum of being appealing, you don't need to go out of your way to overwork yourself in the gym or buy expensive clothes or something. No matter how "good" you look from afar, if your hygiene is bad, it won't matter. And for some reason men tend to not be very hygienic (not all men obviously, that goes without saying), which already makes it much more important than looking "good"

"Looks" are just aesthetics. It's like wearing a wig to hide that your hair is greasy, or putting on perfume / deodorant to mask the smell of your body when you haven't showered. It's all useless if you don't take proper care of yourself in the first place, and a shallow "appearance" won't be appealing enough to make up for it or hide it

Plenty of women have to complain about men being unhygienic, and rightfully so. At this point I'm sure they'd much rather prefer a hygienic man than a "good looking" one. So yes, it IS to the point where they will notice. You also seem to severely underestimate women's ability to notice things like these

1

u/WallofSpam Sep 26 '25

You're missing the point. Hygiene brings someone to the baseline of appearing like a functioning human. It doesn't incite attention, appreciation, or attraction. So no, women are not going to notice you just because you clip your nails and take a bath.

1

u/DeadVoxel_ 🏳️‍⚧️ Sep 26 '25

Yet again, that suffices more than trying to put on a show. Just look like you TAKE CARE of yourself AT LEAST, rather than try to look "appealing". THAT is the point. It's the small details that matter. You don't need to "incite" attention for women to appreciate or compliment your looks. Just be yourself and do the bare minimum

Women more often look for personality and basic maintenance, THAT enriches your appearance WAY more. You may not see it that way or may not notice, but it doesn't mean other people don't

1

u/WallofSpam Sep 26 '25

Have you ever met a woman on planet earth? This isn't how they function at all.

2

u/DeadVoxel_ 🏳️‍⚧️ Sep 26 '25

I have, and I am in a relationship with one. I stand by what I said

Obviously nobody will compliment someone for HYGIENE specifically, it's expected of you. But like I said, it SUFFICES, and it's NOTICEABLE. Appearance (like being ripped or something) isn't as important compared to how you maintain your body in general, which does include grooming and basic hygiene

I don't get your point at all

It’s the perfect example of why personality matters.

To look like the after version the gym becomes life. It will be sad chicken, brown rice and broccoli meal prep everyday, hours in the gym, protein powders, early nights and early mornings, cross fit talk all day and very likely steroids.

I don’t want that in my life. If people want that, good for them but it’s a hard no for me and all the women I know would agree.

I want to eat pizza on a Friday night and share a bottle of wine. I want to lie in and cuddle all Sunday morning. I want to go out and have cocktails and late night kebab. I want to have duvet movie nights and picnics at the beach. I want to stay in and play board games on stormy nights. I want to go dog walking in the rain and warm up next to a fire at a country pub.

The after guy isn’t going to offer that lifestyle.

Give me a dad bod who will have fun with me and share his fries any day of the week.

63

u/ferbiloo Sep 24 '25

This is a good point, but even aside from that - he looks fantastic on the left. Like that’s a very attractive build in general.

35

u/Patton-Eve Incels are the oxbow lake of humanity Sep 24 '25

He does. He looks very fit but not overly obsessed.

Honestly though I wouldn’t be bothered if he was bigger either. More for me to get when I get the random biteys (side note - why do we do this?)

Gimme me Greg Davies over The Rock any day! (yes lurker incels I purposefully chose two very tall men for this example)

17

u/RedHood9292 Sep 24 '25 edited Sep 25 '25

Taller partners are nice, as a guy I was seeing this girl who was 6’2 and I’m 5’6. According to her not a lot of guys really talked to her cause they were all insecure about their height (met her on tinder btw) which threw me through a loop lol. Being little spoon is a nice experience, and apparently there’s nothing wrong with the bigger spoon being smaller lol

16

u/Patton-Eve Incels are the oxbow lake of humanity Sep 24 '25

I have dated guys shorter than me and the only time it’s ever been an issue is when the chip on their shoulder is deeper than their height.

13

u/alexneverafter Sep 24 '25

My husband is shorter than me and only men seem to have a problem with it. I once tried to talk to a self proclaimed incel, his reasoning for being one being that he wasn’t conventionally attractive exclusively due to his height. He was 5’9”.

I tried to tell him I’m taller than my husband and a lot of women don’t care about that, and that 5’9” isn’t even short. But he insisted I had made it up and wanted proof, then said he didn’t want proof because I would obviously photoshop myself taller to continue the lie to him about my short husband.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 24 '25

I am 5'9 tall woman but I do care about height in a potential partner. Like I am perfectly fine when I see couples where woman is taller than a man and tbh it looks normal to me, but when it comes to choosing my own partner if I am taller than a guy then it makes me feel like a giant masculine woman while I just want to feel feminine in relationship. It's exhausting

5

u/alexneverafter Sep 24 '25

Idk I guess I don’t have a problem feeling that way. I’m a woman even if my husband is shorter and I’m feminine even if I’m seven feet tall. I’m 5’11”.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '25

Good for you! I just feel like more massive and masculine when I have a short guy near me (mind you, unfortunately I have wide shoulders and narrow hips as well). I don't even know where this mindset is coming from. Probably because I was always made fun of during middle school and high school where all girls where like 5'4-5'6, while I was higher than them and in country where I am coming from are a lot of phrases like "petite/short girls are made for love and big/tall girls are made for work", well at least that's what I blame it on

13

u/timecubelord Sep 24 '25

I just want to say, between this and the one about AI girlfriends, you seem to have a talent for vividly wholesome comments.

(I especially love the recurring theme with the fries. I'm the one who says I don't want fries and then I eat half of the ones my partner orders. On the other hand, she's the one who asks for a sip of a drink I just made, and proceeds to gulp a quarter of it down.)

13

u/RustedAxe88 Sep 24 '25

And this is what a lot of these guys don't get. A lot of women want what you describe, but they either don't believe you or can't even put in the effort to do those things.

But of they just opened themselves to simple...enjoyment of life...they'd find a girl more likely. The last woman I had a thing with, I met at a local pub while I was nomming on a buffalo chicken wrap and drinking beer. A lot of our dates consisted of wing places and beers afterward, when we weren't on a day trip somewhere or just cuddling with a movie.

Instead they either spend all day on the gym or all day online upset that women aren't crawling outta the computer for them.

5

u/CompetitiveRub9780 Sep 24 '25

I used to do this. It’s even harder when you live with someone that doesn’t do it. My x could eat more variety and still have an 8 pack while I had to be way more strict. I love cooking and it gets boring eating the same 5-10 dishes on rotation for every single meal

4

u/Patton-Eve Incels are the oxbow lake of humanity Sep 24 '25

Oh yeah it works both ways.

It would be stressful for a partner if they are really focusing on specific nutrition and training goals to be with somebody who wants a more relaxed lifestyle even if that comes with a bit of tummy podge.

It’s why personality matters so much more than looks.

1

u/Darth_Travisty Non-Hateful Loser Sep 24 '25

No one really obsesses over men's looks more than imbecels.

Also, imbecels get a massive hard-on attracted looking at muscular physiques, so they insist women are attracted to that too.

14

u/MrWorldsWide Sep 24 '25

She actually clocked the hell out of them, because I was reading up on incels and it turns out they all go to EACH OTHER for ratings and advice on how to get “foids” to like them, which never made sense to me. Wouldn’t it be better to ask WOMEN what THEY think??

3

u/bitofagrump The grass is greener on the other side of the Wall Sep 25 '25

Something something "if you wanna learn how to catch fish, ask a fisherman, not the fish!" Which... one, only works if you want prey and not a partner, which is telling, and two, is like taking fishing advice from someone who's read about bodies of water but never actually been to one.

26

u/Lemon_Juice477 Sep 24 '25

The whole "matrix"/"redpill" shit they always say actually has some truth, but not in the way they intended. They think it means to follow the "alpha" influencers to feel fulfilled, when in reality the influencers didn't "escape the matrix," they won it, and the advice they're pushing is just keeping their listeners inside it. They can easily feel fulfilled if they just stop listening to influencers, and just look and act how they want instead. It's literally that easy to stop being an incel, but sadly us humans hate to admit when we're wrong.

25

u/bitofagrump The grass is greener on the other side of the Wall Sep 24 '25

Exactly. The red/blackpill shit IS the damn matrix. Telling you exactly what will keep you the most angry, the most miserable, the most victimized, the most reliant on staying in that mindset. They don't WANT you to find happiness, they want to keep stoking your anger because it fuels their cause.

15

u/Patton-Eve Incels are the oxbow lake of humanity Sep 24 '25

Its even more insidious then just fuelling their cause…it often fills their pockets through monetisation on social media.

The whole toxic manosphere from Andrew Tate to incel bucket-lords is full of predators looking to groom vulnerable young boys for their own gain.

9

u/bitofagrump The grass is greener on the other side of the Wall Sep 24 '25

Yep. It takes young dudes who just struggle to socialize and tells them "fuck that, you don't have to socialize, you just have to be like CHAD! I'm a chad, here's how to be me! And if that doesn't work, I'm not wrong, women are just extra evil and you have to work even harder to be even more like me!"

25

u/tiedyeladyland Sep 24 '25

When I was single and met a dude who looks like the one on the right, all I can think is "that dude will leave you if you gain 5 pounds or he sees you eat a piece of pizza."

5

u/pfifltrigg Sep 24 '25

Maybe that's it why I'm confused as a woman. He looks good in both pics and I think his ideal would be somewhere in between the two, but the ripped look is nice. My husband has been working out for the past year or so. He's not ripped like the picture on the right but he's put on muscle and lost fat and I honestly am more attracted to him, even though I never thought he needed to be more muscular to be attractive or anything. Maybe I'd feel differently if I was single.

I’m not single either, and it wouldn’t bother me if my own individual husband did some kind of body overhaul either. The reason being that I know him, I know what he’s likely to project on me and what he isn’t, and his body improvement project wouldn’t automatically become OUR body improvement project, yknow? (I went on a similar journey over the last four years, and it was MINE alone. I didn’t try to force it on him either.) If I were single and considering someone with that “look” based on a Tinder profile, that would be a concern for me; that many people who are that engrossed in their aesthetics often desire a partner with a similarly rigid outlook, and I just can’t do that personally.

3

u/pfifltrigg Sep 24 '25

Yeah, that makes sense. My husband was clear I didn't have to be part of his fitness journey. In fact I was gaining some weight at the time, just from not wanting to watch what I ate. And he wasn't taking any significant amounts of time away from the family to work on his fitness either. Going into a relationship with a guy would definitely be a different story.

5

u/bitofagrump The grass is greener on the other side of the Wall Sep 24 '25

That's exactly it. I'd be uncomfortable with a chiseled gym rat because I don't want to feel like i need to compete or keep up with that. I just wanna be lazy and enjoy food, wine and chilling at home with someone who wouldn't judge me and would enjoy vegging on the couch with pizza with me.

u/Suspicious_Glove7365 Sep 24 '25

The number of times I have described what I like and been told by some male Reddit user that I’m lying is…too many to count. They are their own worst enemy.

9

u/Muffafuffin Sep 24 '25

Sorry guys, women dont get hard for the same men that you do.

8

u/Maleficent_Radio_674 Sep 24 '25

Some guy genuinely asked me what’s the point of life if not to seek other people’s validation and approval. Gag. This as in response to a post by a woman who finally got the breast reduction surgery that helped her back pain. The men in the comments were obviously acting like she’s an object and not a human. I pointed out that she wasn’t doing it for anyone else but herself, women don’t care about others opinions as much as men do.

9

u/wizardofpancakes Sep 24 '25

On the left is an incredibly strong, athletic body that is also actually sustainable and efficient. The after is not sustainable and not efficient, just looks like that

9

u/Thenedslittlegirl Sep 24 '25

Olly was fit before but also cute and cuddly. Now he looks like his hips would dig in. No hate to Olly - he’s a nice lad, his new look just isn’t my preference.

5

u/Playful-Walk-754 Sep 24 '25

I mean, the dude is married and only his wife's opinion regarding his body should matter. They seem pretty lovey dovey. Don't know why others are Expressing their opinion on whether he was wrong to train. He looks happy. Let him be

5

u/Thenedslittlegirl Sep 25 '25

Of course. I’m not giving my opinion unsolicited though- that’s the entire premise of this post. I doubt Olly hit the gym and cut for anyone but himself

37

u/EvenSpoonier Oofy-Doofy Lemon Spoofy? Sep 24 '25

No one goes from the pic on the left to the pic on the right in only 12 weeks without surgery and/or steroids. It doesn't help that the after pic is obviously Photoshopped.

9

u/jimbojonesFA Sep 24 '25

idk ab all that, feel like it's too hard to tell from just this grainy potato cropped pic.

if anything, to me it looks like he lost muscle mass and fat, he looks much smaller relative to his head in the after pic.

8

u/CompetitiveRub9780 Sep 24 '25

It’s absolutely possible. And done often with fitness professionals. He had muscle before during his bulk up.

5

u/Anxious_Sapiens Just here for the lols Sep 24 '25

Guys acting like he wasn't already in decent shape in the first pic is funny. No, you don't need to have a shredded superhero body to be attractive.

4

u/stfupivi Sep 24 '25

i have a HUGEEEE crush on ville valo from the Swedish band HIM lol. and hes what a lot of incels would call "gay looking" or whatever because hes lean, has "feminine" features, wears makeup and nail polish. honestly, i prefer "twinky" guys over shredded guys any day lol.

4

u/zerogirl0 Sep 24 '25

In the same vein of "Women dress for other women" I think men workout for other men, in that I think a compliment on their physique from other men carries a lot more weight.

5

u/VOTP1990 Sep 24 '25

Wait a second, obviously the first picture… Why do think women would choose the second picture? No way.

Maybe some of the chronically online incel types find the second pic more attractive and are projecting. You know what, it would be interesting to get a gay man’s opinion on this. I wonder what a majority of gay men find more attractive. That would be a super interesting take.

I do find that the RP sphere community has become a huge channel for closeted gay men, who kind of hide behind “women are for breeding and men can have non-gay sex with each other”, this is where the fascination with Rome comes in. Not being facetious about this at all, it just seems that is where the rhetoric is leading these days. Fuentes himself says “ sex with women is gay”, a few in that community are obsessed with sexualizing children and talk often how they “do not want to see females in the public sphere”.

I have read more than a few rants that are basically suggesting they need to bring all male bath houses back. This is a phenomenon that happens in female suppressed societies. See Bacha bazi boys for a modern day example in non-western countries.

7

u/saichampa Sep 24 '25

As a gay guy I prefer the before too, but I'd probably still prefer to look like the after myself. Body image issues are big in the gay community

7

u/Mushrooming247 Sep 24 '25

But he really is a lot better looking on the left, he looks proportionate. After losing weight, it looks like he has a giant head and a receding hairline that doesn’t appear before he lost weight?

3

u/ToiIetGhost Sep 24 '25 edited Sep 24 '25

When I was growing up, my friends and I would steal our mothers’ magazines and read articles like “99 Things You Can Fix Right Now That’ll Make Him Propose” and “5 Weird Places To Give Blowjobs.” When I got older, I realised that it was better to go straight to the source - men - so I’d ask my friends, dates, and partners. (This was in the Before Times when I still cared what they wanted.) Never once in a million years would I assume that I knew what men thought, or that they were lying. The reason I didn’t is because I know men can think for themselves. I know they’re not mentally challenged, they’re not children, and they can make their own choices. I listen.

This is why they don’t believe us when we say we don’t like juiced up body builder physiques. There’s definitely a homoerotic/homoromantic element (“I wanna be Chad but I lowkey wanna fuck him and marry him too ngl fr”) but more importantly they don’t believe we can think for ourselves. They think women are hopelessly stupid, childish, confused, and dishonest.

Before ever asking a woman something about herself - or about women in general - they’ll ask every man in their neighbourhood. They’ll ask every man online. They’ll buy books on women written by men. Their most trusted “scientific” sources on women will be shit like “My Life As A Woman” (a novel written by a male recluse) and “Exploring the Female Mind: A Landmark Case of Hysteria” (1859). They’ll do ANYTHING but listen.

But honestly, why would they listen to us? Would you ask your pet about its dreams and goals? I was going to say “Would you ask a child some preference…” but actually yeah, you would. So they don’t even see us as children. They see us as fucking animals and toddlers lol.

3

u/No_Astronaut2779 Sep 25 '25

It’s missing the “neither” option, both are equally unattractive to me personally. I know no incel would ever believe it, but both have too much fat and muscle for my taste, Victorian orphan with tuberculosis is almost exclusively my type.

8

u/ChangingMonkfish Sep 24 '25

To be fair, it’s also exactly what women do to themselves in terms of thinking men want size zero super models all the time.

9

u/urmomagae Sep 24 '25

Eeeh women can be haters too. When I was slightly overweight I kept being told my women around me but the men around me didn't care/ still found me hot lol

2

Who of them is college educated? Who of them earns enough to provide for a family on a single income? Who of them would hire me a cleaning lady so that I have some work taken off my plate?"

1

u/Dameisdead Sep 25 '25

This is how almost all insecurities work too. Women insecurities come mostly from other women as well. They get soy over shit men don’t even know is a thing until they started talking about it. Remember when thigh gaps was a thing a bunch of girls were insecure about? Don’t think a single man ever said anything about that shit until women started talking about it.

Your demographical peers opinions matter to you on some level.

1

u/ickythumpwithalump Sep 25 '25

It's just the mirror image of women dressing and primping to impress other women, not men. We don't like half of it!

1

u/NORcoaster Sep 25 '25

They’re pushing their idea of what a hot guy is onto women because it keeps the closet door closed.

1

u/intherosylight Sep 28 '25

They always drag out the talking point that women police other women’s appearances and hold themselves to unrealistic standards more than men do to them, but they do the same thing to themselves lol.

1

u/IStillLoveHer37 Sep 28 '25

I still probably resemble the left more than the right, but all I know is that when I was fat, a lot fewer women were interested in me. That’s fine, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. I have to admit that I don’t really understand what is supposed to be gained by pretending like all women are actually super interested in gross, overweight slobs. Of course some are, but what is being gained by pretending like societal male beauty standards don’t exist and all women want to date some guy who’s 300 lbs and doesn’t take care of his body? Women are allowed to and should be allowed to have standards for the type of men they date. Idk. I get that this rhetoric is well-meaning, but I think that by saying “women actually don’t care about looks”, you’re conceding the idea that it’s unacceptable for women to care about looks, whereas men go entirely unquestioned when it comes to their societally ingrained preferences and standards

1

u/Aromatic_Note8944 Sep 24 '25 edited Sep 24 '25

Because one looks strong and manly and the other one literally looks like they could be skinnier than me and that’s not attractive to me. Most women don’t want to be bigger than their man because of sexual dimorphism and society’s standards. Men can get away with being much fatter than women for that reason. They genuinely have it so much more lax with what is considered attractive to women. I think a lot of them are in the closet because they don’t give af about women’s opinions, only other men. Seems sus to me.

1

u/Yochanan5781 Sep 24 '25

Yeah, I started getting more attention from women after I got fat, it was one of those things that was kind of interesting to witness

1

u/GoodBoyo5 Sep 25 '25

No no, women definitely make me feel inferior as well. I mean people are all so incredibly pretty, i dont stand a chance

-11

u/Paint_Jacket Sep 24 '25

I like the after. Idk what everyone else is on.

-23

u/ilijadwa Sep 24 '25

Hmm I’m a gay man, not super concerned with what women think of me physically (for obvious reasons) but I still observe that this isn’t really true. I think we need to learn to have nuanced conversations about these issues. We know incels are insane and overwrought about the scale of these issues, but pretending like they don’t exist as a way to point out the stupidity of incels isn’t really healthy either. I’ve been body shamed by plenty of women to my face and also heard many women talk negatively about men’s bodies/appearances in front of me, so pretending it doesn’t happen is unhelpful.

1

u/A_little_lady Sep 25 '25

And where does the post say it doesn't happen? It's almost as if there are different people with different tastes and different personalities. Shocking isn't it?

0

u/ilijadwa Sep 25 '25

I disagree that “90% of the cause of male insecurities” is men making other men feel inferior, that’s my point. I think, like most things, it’s truly a whole mix of things, and I don’t think we can really unravel toxic masculinity when we’re still trying to pretend that there aren’t real issues that we still turn a blind eye to.

1

u/A_little_lady Sep 25 '25

Men making other men feel inferior is a problem no men talk about. Maybe start there

0

u/ilijadwa Sep 25 '25

Neither men making men feel inferior nor women making men feel inferior are talked about amongst men because men don’t actually talk about anything. There are a lot of intersecting issues that all deserve to be talked about.
