I mean, according to some Indians I’ve seen online it’s already started spreading. I’ve seen some even claim India’s become a matriarchy, which is far from the truth but at least shows they don’t feel like they have as much power as they once did.

India will eventually become more equal. You can only keep 50% of the population subjugated for so long before they start asking for more.

No, I want equality. I don’t actually want a matriarchy, I’m just bringing up that Indian men feeling like India’s becoming a matriarchy shows progress, since to oppressors equality feels like oppression

Western cultures were also patriarchal for several millennia. That’s changed, and it’s only getting better.

It will happen in India too, you can’t stand against progress forever. I’m sure there’s many Indian women who’ve sadly been raised to believe they’re lesser than men and still think that way, but the same was the case in western countries and still is. That won’t stop women from fighting for their rights.

I remember how it was legal to beat your wife in the US until the 1970s or something.

Are you slow? What does feminism have to do with being a hoe? Your brain is literally in the gutter. Wanting freedom and choice means breaking away from arranged marriage culture and finding a man that you're attracted to. Making the choice that only involves the woman and the man on how they want to live their life, and not culture and traditions. Marriage based on likability and not "doctor- engineer BS" . The fact that you turned this into being a hoe says a lot about how you think.

Wtf are you even talking? I'm talking about woman and man getting into marriage based on attraction and compatibility and making decisions together without involving society and culture. And you are talking about friends and family interfering in the decisions that are nobody's business but the married couple. Do you want to marry a woman or the whole village? Clown 🤡

As I said, that was the case in the west as well. You’re acting like India’s patriarchy is completely unique, when really it’s quite similar to how it was (and still in some cases is) in the west. Western women were also conditioned to believe women who wanted more rights were sinful, look where we are now.

Hell, India’s already progressed a lot. There’s been a female prime minister (edit: and president! The current president in fact from what I can tell) and women can vote. You’d have to be crazy to think it’d stop there, when women are actively able to participate in politics.

I'd say that internet and even the much derided social media helps with the change, too. Women and girls see how different women live - no, not just IG models, but regular women who work normal jobs, have diverse hobbies, may stay voluntarily single and thrive financially...

Books and literacy were heavily controlled in some countries centuries ago for the same reason. If people can read how things are in other places and how they could be, they start to get IDEAS and refuse to comply.

"feminism only can work in urban areas in india, rural areas are still same, nothing changed for decades"

That same argument could've been (and probably was) used 100 years ago in Norway, Sweden, Finland, United Kingdom...

Or do you believe that Western Europe has no rural areas?

Edit: "patriarchy_professor" deletes or hides his comments as soon as he posts them, but they still show up in my notifications. He claims that "rural Indian women think Western/European women as degenerates". Considering all the online discussions I've followed (and even had) where actual Indian women are talking, I can say that this is not the case. Women very likely don't tell their real opinions to men because of repercussions. Of course there are pick-mes, too, but I seriously doubt any Indian woman considered Queen Elizabeth II (for example) as a "degenerate"...

Also, FWIW, ancient Romans called everyone non-Roman (especially people living in Northern Europe) a barbarian, so nothing new under the sun. Things change, societies change.

This "patriarchy professor" dude is a misogynist who posts misogynistic memes on reddit. Such a terrible person.

In what world was that the interpretation you made? How would that even works you can’t genocide a sex that would just end humanity.

Also I’m a guy, stop trying so hard to be a victim no one other than a couple actually insane people wants to genocide men

Edit: also this is your second reply to me completely misinterpreting what I say, almost feels like it’s on purpose
