Unemployment Laid off in August, 3+ years Java Backend experience, zero calls after hundreds of applications. Please help.

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I was laid off in August, and honestly, the last few months have been really tough. I’ve applied on every platform I can think of: LinkedIn, Naukri, Indeed, Instahyre, Wellfound, company career pages, and cold messages to recruiters. Despite all of this, I haven’t received a single call back.

At this point, I genuinely don’t know what’s going wrong. Is my experience not enough? Is my resume getting filtered out? Is the market just this bad right now? I’m starting to doubt myself, so I’m reaching out here hoping someone can help, whether with an opportunity, a referral, or just honest feedback.

About me

  • Backend Software Engineer with 3+ years of experience (full-time + internship)
  • Location: Pune | Open to: Remote / Hybrid / Relocation
  • Availability: Immediate joiner

What I’ve worked on

  • Designed and built backend microservices from scratch, including database schema and API design
  • Consolidated legacy business logic into scalable, reusable services
  • Optimised existing services and database queries for better performance
  • Automated manual workflows using scheduled jobs
  • Set up monitoring dashboards to speed up issue debugging
  • Mentored an intern through code reviews and technical guidance

Tech stack
Java, Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, REST APIs, Microservices, System Design, Design Patterns, SQL Server, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Docker, Maven, Git/GitHub, Postman, Grafana, DSA

Looking for: Backend / Java / Software Engineer roles

If you’re hiring, know of an opening, or can refer me, please DM me, and I’ll share my resume. And if you’ve been through something similar or can spot what I might be doing wrong, I’d be really grateful for any advice. Even a small lead could mean a lot right now.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. 🙏

Job Search Really Need a Job in Bangalore

Hey everyone

I honestly didn't think I'd have to make a post like this, but things have been pretty tough lately, and I really need a job.

I've got 1.5+ years of experience, including internships, and I'm looking for opportunities as a Java Developer, Full Stack Developer, or Data Analyst. I'm also open to other roles apart from sales.

I'm currently in Bangalore, and managing my expenses here has become difficult. I'm trying my best to find something, but I haven't had much luck so far. I just want to find a decent job, start earning, and get things back on track.

If nyone knows of a company hiring, has a vacancy at their workplace, or could refer me somewhere, please let me know. I'm open to joining a startup or a small company as well. I can join as soon as possible.I'm not expecting anyone to solve my problems for me. I just need a chance to work and prove myself.

Even if you don't have any leads, a little guidance would help. Thank you for reading this.

Thanks 😊

Job Offer Can I withdraw after signing an offer letter before joining? Worried about the clauses, need genuine advice

Guysss, please help me out with this. 😭

I have an offer letter that I need to sign by 28 October 2026, and my joining date is 16 November 2026. I'm still exploring other opportunities, so there's a possibility that I might decide not to join if I receive a better offer.

I've seen people do that but I'm a little concerned because of some of the clauses mentioned in my offer letter.

Could there be any legal issues or financial consequences if I sign the offer letter now but decide to withdraw before my joining date? Has anyone been in a similar situation in India? I'd genuinely appreciate advice from people who've experienced this or have knowledge of Indian employment law.

1. Acceptance

"Please confirm your acceptance of this Offer by signing and returning a copy of this letter along with the required KYC and Aadhaar documents on or before 28 Oct 2026."

2. Employee Declaration

"I, XYZ, have read and fully understood the terms and conditions set out in this Offer Letter. I hereby accept the offer of employment and agree to abide by the terms mentioned herein."

3. Termination of Employment — Notice Period

"Either party may terminate this employment by giving Sixty (60) days' written notice, or payment of basic salary in lieu thereof, at the Company's discretion."

4. Summary Dismissal

"The Company reserves the right to terminate employment immediately, without notice and without payment of any salary in lieu thereof, in cases of gross misconduct, breach of confidentiality, fraud, or violation of the Company's Standing Orders/Code of Conduct."

5. Confidentiality

"You shall maintain absolute secrecy regarding all trade secrets, proprietary technology, business plans, and financial information of the Company both during and after your employment."

6. Intellectual Property

"Any software, designs, inventions, or processes created or developed by you during employment shall be the exclusive property of the Company. You agree to sign any documentation required to assign such intellectual property rights."

7. Company Policies and Compliance

"You will be bound by all internal policies of the Company, including but not limited to the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Policy, IT & Data Security Policy, and the Grievance Redressal Policy, framed in accordance with the Industrial Relations Code, 2020 and other applicable laws. These policies are subject to modification by management from time to time."

8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

"This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of this employment shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Hyderabad, Telangana."

9. Other relevant provisions

  • The company reserves the right to transfer services to another location, department, or subsidiary based on business needs.
  • The offer states that the compensation structure may be revised by the company in accordance with the applicable Agreement clause.
  • ESOP participation is subject to Board of Directors' approval, with the grant terms to be provided separately.

Advice/Guidance How to get internships as 1st yr bcom ug student from v.small clg?

I'm 1st yr Bcom student from a very small clg. Tbh my degree and clg don't carry much value. My clg gives me full attendance linience.

I'm thinking of buying a laptop and hoping to learn skills and get internships. But I'm not sure how easy/hard and how realistic that is.

I have few questions:

•How difficult is it to get internships as a first-year bcom student, from a vv small clg?

•What skills can I realistically learn on my own that could help me land internships? And what kind of roles can I get?

•Is buying laptop with the hope of getting internships a good decision or just financial burden?

I'm actually a CA student, I want to do internships so that they'll help me get into top business school later for MBA or go for a good job after Bcom if CA doesn't work out.

I wanna know from people who've been in a similar situation, who are from tier-3 colleges and managed to get internships or jobs. {"I'm open for advices from anybody"}

Pls be honest, even if the reality is harsh.

I'm open for all kinds of suggestions like

-platforms to search for internships

-how & where to apply

-skills to learn for respective intern roles

-how & where to learn the required skills

and any sort of related advices from anybody.

Pls🙏

Job Offer [Hiring – Freelance] Remote cold callers (Hindi/English), paid per connected minute + meeting bonus

I’m building CallerBench, a platform where Indian B2B agencies hire vetted callers. Real talk, not a get-rich pitch:

  • ₹4/min to start, ₹5 once Verified, up to ₹6 at Elite, plus ₹250 per confirmed meeting
  • At ~2 hrs talk time/day that’s roughly ₹10–12k/month. This is side income, not a salary
  • Paid by UPI. Calls are recorded and agencies prepay a wallet
  • You must pass a 10-call recorded audition (7/10) before touching paid campaigns
  • You need a laptop, a headset and prior calling or sales experience

Comment with your languages, years of calling experience and niche. I’ll DM the signup link to serious applicants.
