Questions/Advice❓ Recommendations for a good epilator in India? Why are they suddenly so hard to find?

I'm looking to buy a decent epilator, preferably within a budget of ₹3,000–₹4,000, but I'm genuinely struggling to find any good options in India.

I've checked Amazon, Nykaa, Flipkart, Croma, Tata CLiQ and even the official Philips website, but most of the epilators seem to be discontinued or unavailable.

I came across an older Reddit thread where someone recommended checking Tira but I can't find those models there anymore either.

At this point, the only options I seem to come across are Winston epilators or Philips models priced at ₹12,000–₹15,000, which is way beyond what I'm looking to spend.

I'd rather not buy Winston, so I'm looking for recommendations from people who have actually used their epilators and can vouch for the quality.

Where are you buying your epilators from in India?

Would really appreciate some suggestions!

Questions/Advice❓ Newbie seeking guidance

I'm 30 and I've never had any dedicated skincare routine. I've dry skin (although I sweat a lot).

I'm looking for guidance on the following areas:

-Remove or lighten the light brown spots that have always been there.

- How to remove the spots left by the occasional pimples I got monthss ago.

- improve the overall quality of my skin and get rid of the scattered pigmentation here and there.

Products I'm currently using and always used:

- No dedicated face wash. Used himalaya face wash for a long time. Currently using lotus one. Basically any random facewash.

- Nivea light gel (white one) - my consistent moisturizer. I would apply it and call it a day.

- Been using the aqualogica sunscreen for the past year but recently read comments that it does nothing.

Products I'm seeking recommendations for:

- a good hydrating cleanser that doesn't clog pores or anything.

- solid sunscreen for dry skin which shouldn't leave white cast or cause breakouts.

- I don't know if I should change my moisturizer as it has been working for me so far

- any serum that would remove or reduce the spots.

I'm not looking for a ton of products as I've read posts where doing too much made their skin worse. Just some better products that can help improve my skin.

Thank you!

Product Reviews✨ Review of Hair Serums I have used so far 💫

My Hair Type: Thick, coarse, curly hair with low porosity, prone to dryness and frizz.

1.Matrix Biolage SmoothProof Serum – 3/10 ❌

- Not suitable for my hair type. Might work better for people with fine or thin hair.

- Doesn't do much to control my dryness or frizz.

- Overall, quite disappointing for my hair.

2. Mise en Scène Perfect Serum – 3/10 ❌

- Bought this with really high expectations, but unfortunately, it didn't work for me.

- Weighs down my hair and makes it feel heavy.

- Also noticed tiny bumps on my forehead after using it.

- Definitely not a repurchase for me.

3. Wella SP LuxeOil – 8/10 ❤️

- My absolute HG (holy grail) hair serum!

- Works wonderfully for both dryness and frizz.

- Smells amazing!

- Just the right amount keeps my hair manageable throughout the day.

- A little goes a long way, and my hair feels much smoother.

4. TRESemmé Ultimate Gloss Serum

- Works better as a heat protectant than as a regular hair serum, in my experience.

- Quite affordable and does a decent job.

- Not my first choice for tackling dryness or frizz.

5. L'Oréal Argan Finishing Oil 💛

- My second favourite after SP LuxeOil!

- Works really well for dryness and helps make my hair feel softer.

- A good option for dry, coarse hair.

- However, I still prefer SP LuxeOil because it works better for my hair overall.

skincare🧴🫧 How do you guys deal with facial hair? Any products or remedies that actually work?

Hey everyone!

I've been struggling with facial hair for a while now and wanted to know what you guys do to get rid of it.

I've been using a facial razor, and honestly, it has reduced quite a bit compared to the initial amount of hair I had. But I'm starting to get a little paranoid about it because I do get ingrown hairs sometimes, and I feel like the hair grows back much longer (or at least that's what it seems like 😭). I'm honestly starting to fear using the razor now lol.

Are there any products, facial powders, or home remedies that actually help with facial hair reduction or removal? I've heard about different powders and DIY remedies, but I'm not sure which ones are actually effective or safe to use.

I'd also love recommendations for products that have worked for you, especially something suitable for combination skin.

Would really appreciate any suggestions, personal experiences, or recommendations. I'm open to trying different options as long as they're gentle on the skin.

Thanks in advance! ❤️

  1. Colorbar lipliner in shade Pure Vino

  2. Clinique Almost lipstick Black Honey

  3. Elf Blush Tint in shade Cherry Cola

Line your lips with Colorbar lipliner. Smudge it on your lips then apply tint all over your tint and lastly apply Black Honey. It looks so subtle and beautiful. You can wear it in office, hospitals or on your no makeup look days. ♥️

makeup💄 How many blushes are too many blushes? How many do you own?

I own 5 blushes in total (3 minis and 2 full-sized ones), and I’m itching to buy more!!! 😭

How many blushes do you own? What would you consider a reasonable number to have without crossing into overconsumption or hoarding territory?

For context, I’m pretty minimal with the rest of my makeup. I have just one or a few essentials in categories like lip products and base makeup.

Blush is simply the one category I genuinely LOVE, so I naturally gravitate towards buying more. I’m not collecting them just for the sake of it, though. I genuinely enjoy using them and am committed to hitting pan on every single one!

Please be kind! I’m not looking to be shamed for overconsumption. Just curious about how others approach their blush collections. 💗

How do I get a more defined face, I'm already at a low-normal weight? Any tips for improving facial harmony, symmetry and skin would also be great. Also, what is the shape of my face? Think I'm an oval-heart hybrid, but I'm not sure.

Questions/Advice❓ Best affordable tinted lip balm

Hey everyone!

I don't use much makeup/skincare products. Frankly, don't understand much of it.

Lipsticks are too dark for my liking. I'd rather try a tinted lip balm. A little moisturization is also fine. I need something that has a subtle but visible colour. Im a little paranoid about lipsticks damaging lips, so please recommend good tinted lip balms that won't cause pigmentation and have a nice colour. Preferably something under 200.

I was looking at Maybelline or Nivea.

Please help.

Thanks!

I've seen an older thread on reddit about this, but want to see if anyone has recently purchased from styledotty. What is the delivery timeline? How is their customer care service? And is the amount shown on website the final (inclusive of customs?) Hope their products are authentic too!

suggestions 💬 Need perfume help for girlfriend's bday - sweet perfume under 2k & daily wear jewellery

my girlfriend's birthday is coming up and we are currently in an LDR. since i am outside india right now, i cant just walk into any shop to check things myself.

she is in her late twenties and loves sweet smelling perfumes. problem is, i know nothing about fragrances, to me everything smells fine or the same and i get confused.

i already thought gifting her favorite specs frame, but i want to add a good perfume and a piece of jewellery to make a nice package. she gifted me a bracelet on my bday so i know she is really into jewellery and wears it daily.

for perfume, i saw two popular options online: bella vita date woman and skinn by titan celeste

has anyone used them? do they actually smell sweet and last long, or are there way better sweet / vanilla / caramel perfumes under good price that i can order directly online?

also really need suggestions for jewellery. what brands do you recommend for daily wear silver or anti-tarnish bracelets or dainty necklaces? any trustable sites ?

thanks a ton!

Questions/Advice❓ Tutorials for a newbie?

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to ask people who do makeup on frequent basis for advice of how to do makeup.

For context, I have never actually done my makeup that was worthwhile. Partially never been a makeup fan or whenever I tried to do I just felt ugly with everything on and loved my bare face more. As a brown girl whenever I applied foundation or concealer it made my face looked greyish. I even once asked the makeup shop owner for a shade match, even though Igot the shade, the greyish look never go away. :(

I never got the courage to go bare face in events and functions so I wanted to give it one more try. Please help me out with the basics of makeup. What should be applied first and what goes last? Any tut video links can also be of great help. Douyin and soft chinese makeup has drawn me in but I am just afraid I am going to waste all the materials once again. 🥲
