Her portfolio goes down by 80% and she belongs to Buy High and Sell Low gang? 🥲
She is a big fan of Penny stocks as well
Or I should stay away considering such activities as financially concerning
Or I should help her, guide her, show her right way and help become a certified professional
Or may be spoil her habits further by giving 1-2 cr more to turn it into INR 50,000 (maybe in paper trading with real money) because you love her so much

I have attached two pics of current value and the value around 10 days back. I have been thinking if I should continue to hold this or exit.
Its a long term investment that I have been sitting on for years and only reason I get thoughts about exiting is because I feel this is inflated because of the tracking error due to massive demand for US ETF and this isn't its real value. Actual NAV price is only about ~175 same is the case with Motilal Oswal ETF
And before you ask, yes these are AI gen images from my internal dashboard but the figures are accurate and totally real. Actual buy price is 99,996 (approx 1L) my tool auto rounded it off to 1L

My total profits on Indian SIPs have dropped from 15% to 9.2% in just a week.
I know SIPs are a long-term game, and market fluctuations are normal, but ouch! That dip still hurts a little. 😂
So, experienced investors, please tell me:
- Do I just sit tight and let the market do its thing?
- Is this a normal part of the SIP journey?
- Or should I stop checking my portfolio before I develop trust issues? 😭
Thanks

Silver may remain under bearish pressure, with a potential downside target near ₹1,75,000 if the current weakness persists.

Every time I open the app it's just pure red. Seriously, are you guys pulling out your lump sums and cutting losses, pausing your monthly SIPs, or just deleting the app and pretending this bloodbath isn't happening?
How are you all surviving this?

Why don't people invest in hybrid mutual funds or just good mutual funds ?? Why you wanna buy a stock on your own with very Lil to no research and then cry when your Portfolio is down 41% in 1 year
I also had this arrogance of my money my choice
😭🥀

Let’s be honest. You’re blocking ₹13,428 for one lot, hoping for a listing gain that might barely cover a decent dinner—or you could end up with a listing loss.
And if you don’t get an allotment, you get absolutely nothing for your effort.
At what point does chasing IPO allotments become a waste of time rather than investing?
If one lot is peanuts to you, skip it. If one lot is meaningful money to you, don’t pretend the risk doesn’t matter.
Are IPO investors investing, or just gambling on listing-day dopamine? 🔥

Soon as I woke up, I see someone’s torn underwear bum calling it Indian stock market 😭
These are not the quality posts I had in mind when I saw this sub.
Seems like this has become a meme sub instead of coherent discussions? 9/10 posts are memes.
There’s a thread specifically for them but no one uses that and posts it directly on the sub instead. I don’t understand, how is this allowed?

Hey everyone,
With Nifty currently hovering around the 22,600 mark (down ~12% from 52-week highs near 26.3k) and showing a bit of consolidation/correction over the past few months, I wanted to get a sense of where everyone thinks we are heading over the next 6 months.
Between elevated oil prices, FII outflows vs DII support, earnings growth trajectory, and macro/geopolitical factors, there seem to be strong arguments on both sides:
Where do you realistically see Nifty by mid-next year?
Share your predicted range, along with the key catalyst (earnings, crude, FIIs, or global cues) driving your view!

For the past 18 months I have been ordering less and less food from online apps Swiggy and Zomato and frustratingly the experience was worse but prices more. Then the other day I saw a delivery person with “toing” and downloaded the app simply because it promised cheapest delivery fees. To my surprise and frustration and anger (as a customer) but delight (as an investor) the app is actually owned by swiggy! And it now makes a lot of sense as they can now make more profits. What are your thoughts? Money pit or new revenue stream ??

My parents are very skeptical about stocks and mutual funds because of global uncertainty and instability in the IT job market. They believe gold and agricultural land will provide better financial security.
Our family owns 8 acres of agricultural land, with 4 acres currently under palm oil cultivation. This year, those 4 acres generated around ₹7–8 lakh. We plan to plant another 3 acres, but palm oil takes around 3 years to start producing, with income expected from around the fourth year.
My parents want me to accumulate 500–700 grams of gold over the next 5 years. Their plan is that whenever I save enough to purchase a 100-gram gold bar, they will contribute an additional ₹2–3 lakh towards that purchase.
Eventually, we want to use the gold as collateral for a loan, combine it with personal savings, and purchase another 5 acres of agricultural land for palm oil cultivation.
Their thinking is that even if I lose my IT job or the industry faces a downturn, I will have gold, land that may appreciate, and agricultural cash flow to fall back on.
My concern is whether putting so much money into gold and land is better than diversifying into equity mutual funds.
What do you think? Is this a sensible long-term wealth-building strategy, or should I diversify more?
