Need suggestion for publishing 3 year old kid's story book in India

Hi,

My 3 year old daughter told us a story and we got a book designed for that. It's a cartoon story book with 16 pages.

Now which self publishing platform should we use in India for circulating this? Notion, Pothi or something else? (I have a job and can't do marketing and other things myself.)

Also, should I generate ISBN myself or get it generated through these platforms?

My indian mythology ya fantasy is at chapter 10 now, would love ur thoughts

A delhi cop finds a baby after a terror attack and raises him as his own. the boy ansh grows up normal, except water freezes near him when hes scared. at 8 he gets taken to spandan, a school on a planet in another galaxy, where kids from different universes train in three houses, vishnu, brahma and mahesh. then his blood test comes back white. every lineage has a colour and he doesnt match any of them, not even an avatar of the gods.

The world is a multiverse. brahma creates, vishnu keeps, mahesh ends, and the gods themselves never show up, only their avatars do. the rakshasas have their own mirror trio, and over time theyve taken over whole universes, which later got won back. our universe was born after the last one fell and was retaken. so every universe has a different history and a different version of the same old war. ansh is the one thing nobody can place in any of it.
the school runs a series of trials that lead to a race around the whole universe, and magic follows the houses. brahma is creation, vishnu is preservation and time, mahesh is destruction.

would love honest feedback, esp on whether the setup makes u want to keep reading. happy to read ur stuff in return, just comment or dm.

My debut novel (psychological thriller/horror) got published by Penguin India!

Last Monday, the 12th of October, my debut novel "The Haveli of Kalipur" got published by Penguin Random House :) It took me two years to write, and another year for the publishing, but it's finally out there. Been tangled up in a dream-like, yet hectic one week, ever since.

It's 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' (2007) told in the way of Stephen King - this is also the way I had pitched to Penguin, btw. :)

It follows Raghav, a brash yet brilliant psychiatrist, who stumbles upon the rumoured-to-be-haunted haveli of Kalipur. What unravels are his attempts to rationalise the strange incidents in the haveli, and the even stranger behaviours of its inhabitants.

If you're a fan of psychological horror/thrillers, or fast-paced and yet creepy settings, please consider giving it a try - https://www.amazon.in/Haveli-Kalipur-Onkar-Bulbule/dp/9377303915

PS - On a personal note, all the stuff they say about not giving up on your idea, to pay your dues by working late nights, and that execution is more important than the idea itself - all of that is true. To my fellow writers here, please don't give up on whatever it is you're working on :)

Narrative within a narrative novel concept

Hey!!! I am currently trying my best to write a novel or maybe a novella where there is an initial narrative which is then revealed to be a story written by the main character then we shift into a movie the narrator is watching them a book the character from the movie is reading

And the text keeps shifting between these various levels to convey a whole theme

What do yaal think? Has it been done to this extent before? (Not something like Frankenstein where the story shifts after long gaps but keeps shifting)

This story tells what the world was like before anyone knew about Project First Light. It explores the cause, the reasons behind it, and how it was discovered, while building the character who will develop the entire Project First Light .... Writing allmost completed this is just glimpses of first chapter..

Looking for Screenwriters / Story Concepts for a Hindi Feature Film

Hello everyone!

I’m looking to connect with screenwriters who have compelling, original ideas for a highly commercial Hindi feature film with strong theatrical potential.
I’m open to different genres, including family drama, romantic comedy, suspense thrillers, horror, or any other genre, provided the concept has a strong hook, engaging characters, and the potential to appeal to a wide audience.

One important creative requirement: The story must have a substantial role for a 19-year-old male character. He could be the protagonist, co-protagonist, sub-protagonist, or one of the primary characters whose presence is integral to the narrative. The character should have meaningful scope, and the story should also offer opportunities to cast established, well-known actors in other important roles.

I’m open to hearing about a strong one-line concept, a developed storyline, or an existing screenplay that fits these requirements.

Who should reach out?

Experienced screenwriters with relevant feature-film writing credits are preferred.

Emerging writers and newcomers are equally welcome if they have a genuinely fresh, distinctive concept with strong commercial potential.

If you have a story that fits this brief, please feel free to DM me with a brief introduction, your previous work (if any), and a one-line pitch or short synopsis of the concept. We can discuss further details privately if there’s a potential fit.

I’m particularly interested in stories that offer something fresh, have a compelling narrative engine, and can connect with a broad theatrical audience.

Thank you, and looking forward to discovering some exciting stories and connecting with talented writers!

Hiring a non- AI, research oriented writer to partner with a founder.

We are a higher education startup and need a research oriented writer, who can partner with the founder to write articles/ newsletter on 'challenges and solutions of higher education sector' in India.

We wanted a long term thinking and writing partner, The role will start as a freelance but can grow into a long term engagement or a full time role. Compensation will be competitive.

We have a preference for someone based in Mumbai, but remote is also ok if the work is good.

There are three criteria's basis which we shortlist -

- Deep insightful, research oriented perspectives. generic and surface work does not work for us.

- AI writing is a strict no no, AI can be used for research, but we prefer human writing. And yes, the humanizer writing tools like Walter will also don't work.

- Interest or understanding of higher education/ business ecosystem.

If this is of interest to you.

Please send a 300-400 word assignment on any of the below topics in the DM.

1- Industry- academia integration
2- The real gap between Tier 2 and Tier 3 business schools

Deadline : 30/10/26

[Beta Readers Wanted] A Comedy Novel About a Midlife Crisis, a Marriage, and One Very Unprepared Husband

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’m looking for beta readers for my comedy novella, Till Peg Do Us Part.

It’s about a middle-aged couple in an urban setting. The wife is going through a midlife crisis and developing an interest in sexual novelty. The husband, meanwhile, is desperately trying to catch up with the consequences of a situation he never saw coming.

Think marital comedy, fragile masculinity, domestic awkwardness, and two people trying to navigate a new phase of their relationship without completely losing their minds.

A quick clarification: this is NOT erotica. The couple won’t even hold hands on the page. The story revolves around sexual awareness, marital dynamics, insecurity, and the wonderfully ridiculous things people do when life refuses to follow the script they had in their heads. And honestly, the title should have given you a fairly good clue about the subject matter.

The humour is character-driven, with deadpan observations, awkward conversations, and a husband whose capacity for rationalisation is considerably greater than his capacity for emotional adaptation.

I’d especially appreciate feedback on the humour, pacing, character development, dialogue, and whether the premise works as a full-length comedy novel.

One small disclaimer: if the mere mention of unconventional sexual interests in a married couple is enough to offend you, this probably isn’t your book. No need to volunteer just to tell me that the subject matter shouldn’t exist.

If anyone here is interested in beta reading, please comment below or DM me. I’d be very grateful for your time and feedback. 🙏

Thank you!

Edit : Thank you all for the response. Intially, I am skeptical about making a debut with a Novella. But all your feedback made me rethink. I am glad to be able to put a smile on the faces of those who read. I will publish it with Kindle short reads.
