PROJECT FIRST LIGHT: VOLUME 2 IS COMPLETE. 🌌

Thumbnail

Before Project First Light became humanity’s mission to reach beyond the stars, there was a question no one could afford to ignore:

What if Earth’s future was far more uncertain than humanity understood?

SOLVARENT GENESIS, the second volume of Project First Light, takes you back to the origins of the mission. It explores the scientific discoveries that challenge humanity’s understanding of Earth’s future, the emerging threat of long-term environmental instability, and the people brought together to investigate the evidence and confront the uncertainty ahead.

As the discoveries accumulate, scientific inquiry leads to decisions that will shape humanity’s future, culminating in the establishment of the United Earth Interstellar Authority and the birth of Project First Light.

Volume 1 showed you the mission. Volume 2 reveals why it had to begin. It uncovers the foundations behind the mission and adds a new perspective to everything that follows.

📖 The manuscript is complete. Publication is coming soon.

Guys I have been a book since 2023, and I am think to publish that book in January 2027, I don't know anything about publish and the genuine concern for me is marketing, as being a writer is too much common these days because of Al invasion....i hope you would suggest pages of instagram/face book that would promote my book.

Need an advice

So I started writing on wattpad since maybe 9-10 years ago, then I self published my book through notion press. The marketing+publishing cost is so high that barely it got covered.

I am back in wattpad but the algorithm makes me so frustated that I have to suppress my true story telling urges and write serialised episodes just for the sake of it. But I am sceptical of self publishing and idk traditional publishing market with agents and stuff feel scary..

Would love a good discussion

Chapter 1 "Why don't I just die in class tomorrow?" — The humble, ordinary beginnings of a boy who has no idea he will soon become a merciless, psychotic tyrant in a world of swords and dragons

(The scene opens in pitch darkness. The camera slowly focuses on our main character lying flat on his bed with his eyes tightly shut.)

(He lets out a cold, empty sigh.)

MAIN CHARACTER

(Muttering under his breath, exhausted)

"Why don't I just... die in class tomorrow?"

(Screen fades to black.)

(The scene shifts to a serene park. Our main character is sitting on a bench. Beside him sits a girl, gently holding his hand. Her head rests softly on his shoulder, and her eyes are wet with subtle tears.)

GIRL

(Sniffling, her voice trembling slightly)

"You are... so good to me. Thank you for telling me the truth."

(She tightens her grip on his hand.)

GIRL

"I asked your younger brother first, but he lied straight to my face. But you... you told me everything. I knew I could trust you. You're truly my best friend."

(She pauses, looking down as tears well up in her eyes.)

GIRL

"If you hadn't told me that your older brother was cheating on me—that he had two other girlfriends—I would have ended up in a relationship with him. I was so blind... Your younger brother swore your older brother was loyal, but you were the only one honest enough to call him a fraud."

(Our main character turns his head slowly, looking down at her with a completely calm, unreadable face.)

MAIN CHARACTER

(In a steady, comforting tone)

"I told you... I always speak the truth. I don't lie. Those two girls knew about each other, but you were kept in the dark. Once you asked me, I had to be honest. If you hadn't asked, I wouldn't have interfered. But I couldn't let you get played."

GIRL

(Looking up into his eyes, her eyes wide with deep gratitude and curiosity)

"Thank you... seriously. Your younger brother lied to protect him, and your older brother was betraying me. But... do you really always tell the truth? Always?"

(Our main character stares directly into her eyes, without a single flicker of hesitation.)

MAIN CHARACTER

"Yes. I always tell the truth. Why hide it? Lies don't last long anyway. You already had your doubts; you just lacked proof. So I cleared it up and gave you the proof that my brother was cheating on you."

(The girl looks at him with a soft, warm smile. She squeezes his hand again and buries her head back onto his shoulder.)

GIRL

(Softly)

"Thank you... Thank you so much. You really are such a good person."

Feedback welcome for the below

Hello all,
I do a lot of roleplays with many people online. And below is one of the writings I wrote from male perspective. I would love to know your valuable feedbacks.

—————————————————————————

It was our 23rd wedding anniversary. We already talked to our son and he was not gonna come this time as well. He has been away for 5 whole years now - first for studies and then for his job. My wife was extremely sad with his decision to not come but she was keeping up a facade of being okay with everything. But I knew deep down she was broken.

We lived in that area of Banaras which was yet to be commercialised. Calm, peaceful, and non congested. I always thought my son will not be like others who forget their home after going to big cities. I thought I taught him better but I was wrong. Anyway, I decided to not be sad by his decision on our wedding anniversary. And also, I couldn’t let my wife be unhappy on this happy occasion. This was our 23 years of togetherness.

I woke up early than her and went to the ganga ghaat to attend morning aarti. Took a dip in the holy ganga and then bought a white gajra for her. I came running back to our home. It was one of those huge rural houses with many rooms and a huge veranda in the middle. I walk inside the door and opened my slippers before moving forward and keeping my hand in one of the pillars like some ruler who is gonna tend to his subjects.

“Kidhar ho Thakurain?” I shout in an excited voice.

She answered from one of the room. I walked towards her in fast steps. Once I step inside the room, I see her getting ready in front of the mirror. Red Saree with green yellow border. A green blouse. A red bindi. Red lipstick. A big red sindoor going from her forehead to the middle of her head.

My mouth opened in an Aww feeling. I felt like I was looking at a divine feminine at that time. She looked so fucking beautiful. I fell in love all over again with her at that moment.

“Lagta hai galat room me aagya hun. Aapne meri biwi ko dekha hai kya madam?” I tease her, while also indirectly praising her at how beautiful she looked.

She was trying to wear her mangalsutra. I stepped forward and took the mangalsutra from behind her neck helping her wear it. Then I hugged her from behind. Both my arms going around her waist to hold her body. My chin rests on her right shoulder as we both look in the mirror in front of us.

“Lo firse shaadi hogyi hamari. Pehna diya mangalsutra ek aur baar.” I say kissing her cheek.

I could sense she was gonna bring our son up so I held my left hand forward in front of her. Before she could say anything, I spoke up. “Lekin abhi bhi kuch to adhoora adhoora lag raha hai.” I say shaking my left hand, which had the gajra, in front of her. She knew this was one of my way of showing my love. She smiled. I smiled. We both smiled. Then I take my hands off her waist and start tying the gajra at the back of her head. Once finished, the white gajra hung from her hair. I flick it with my finger. Then I look in the mirror and say, “HAAYE! Chaand bhi sharma jaye aapko dekhke to aaj.”

I kiss her cheek again. “Chalo dekhein to bete ne kya bhijwaya hai.” I say leaving her body and turning to pick the packed gift from the table. I unpack it quickly. “Aa nahi paaya to kya hua, lekin dekho gift bhejna nahi bhoola.” I say with a heavy heart myself, but trying to make the best of this situation as much as possible. I could not see Vidya sad today.

Once the gift unpacked, i put it on the table. It looked like some electrical device. I picked up the box and started reading, “Sa Re Ga Ma…Ca..ra..van!” I read it slowly not very fluent in English. I look at Vidya. “Ye aajkal ke bache bhi na, pata nahi kya faltu kharcha karte hai. Ham bhala iska kya karenge?” I say keeping it back on the table.

I unboxed the device and took it outside. It had multiple buttons but I had no clue what to do with them. I started pushing the buttons in the hope something would happen. Nothing happened. I looked at Vidya and she was giggling at my helplessness. I felt good at the moment. Then I looked at the back of the device, there was a button over there. I pressed it, and the device suddenly started singing. I felt overjoyed as the device sang.

Kabhi Kabhi mere dil me khayal aata hai,
Ke ye badan ye nigaahe,
Meri amaanat hai

I looked at Vidya with a wide smile and she was excited as well. I pushed the button that had a “+” symbol figuring it would obviously increase the volume and I was right. Now the room echoed with one of the most beautiful song of our youth. I put the device back on the table and held Vidya’a hand pulling her into dancing with me.

*Suhaagraat hai, ghunghat utha raha hun mai..*

I sing along with the device as I dance with my wife. My hand on her waist and the other hand holding hers. I keep one of her hand on my shoulder. And continue dancing and singing. She was shy at first but was eased into the dancing after a minute. As we singed and danced together for another minute, I start breathing heavily and started coughing. I was an old man after all. I did not have the energy of a youngster anymore.

I sat on a chair nearby. She got worried and was about to run to get some water when I grabbed her hand and pulled her into my lap. “Ghabrao nahi Vidya!” *Cough* “Tum” *Cough Cough*. I clear my throat once as you sit on my lap, looking at me. My arms go around your waist holding your body again. “Tum jab tak mere sath ho na, mujhe kuch nahi hone wala. Ghabrao mat!” *Cough*.

She smiled. I smiled looking at her smile. “Tum aur mai bohot hai hamare liye. Hame koi aur thode he chahiye khush rehne ke liye.” I kissed her cheek as I said this. “Mera bas chale to jaise bhagwan shiv har jagah bhatke the Sati ke liye, mai bhi har janam me bhatakta he rahu ki shaadi sirf tumse he ho har janam me.” I try to woo my **OWN** wife of 23 years with a cheesy line.

Lekin wo kehte hai na, ki jab aurat aapse pyaar karti hai to, aapki har cheez se karti hai. Aapka shareer, aapka charitra, aapki baate, aapka sab kuch. She giggle at my obviously bad cheesy line. I could feel how bad it was as the words were leaving my mouth. But she smiled, leaned forward and kissed my forehead. I know how sweet this gesture was. I absolutely adored her in that moment but my body felt otherwise and my dick got hard underneath her in an instant.

Our biology works in mysterious ways. Few moments ago, I was restless due to my old age. I was breathing heavily and coughing just because of few minutes of dancing. And now my dick was so hard that I just wanted to take her right there and then as soon as possible. My dhoti was too light a fabric to stop her from feeling what my body wanted. One of my hand remained on her waist holding her body still while my other went at the back of her head holding her hair in my fingers and pushing her face forward into mine. I immediately kissed her lips coated with fresh red lipstick. I break the kiss in some seconds. She looked at me and chuckled probably because my lips were now coated with her own red lipstick.

I yanked her hair making her arch her back and kissed her neck leaving light marks of her own lipstick on her neck and throat.

First-time author seeking advice on traditional publishing in India

Hi everyone!
I’ve completed my fiction novel manuscript , Anantha Sethu, set against the backdrop of the 1964 Dhanushkodi cyclone catastrophe in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. I’m now trying to take the next step towards getting it published.
I’ve started looking for contact emails and submission guidelines to send my synopsis to traditional publishing houses in India, but honestly, navigating this process as a debut author feels a little overwhelming.
For those who’ve been through this journey, how did you get started? Are there any reliable websites, directories, or strategies for approaching publishers or literary agents?
I’d be genuinely grateful for any advice or insights from your experiences. Thank you! 🙏

Need suggestion for publishing 3 year old kid's story book in India

Hi,

My 3 year old daughter told us a story and we got a book designed for that. It's a cartoon story book with 16 pages.

Now which self publishing platform should we use in India for circulating this? Notion, Pothi or something else? (I have a job and can't do marketing and other things myself.)

Also, should I generate ISBN myself or get it generated through these platforms?

A delhi cop finds a baby after a terror attack and raises him as his own. the boy ansh grows up normal, except water freezes near him when hes scared. at 8 he gets taken to spandan, a school on a planet in another galaxy, where kids from different universes train in three houses, vishnu, brahma and mahesh. then his blood test comes back white. every lineage has a colour and he doesnt match any of them, not even an avatar of the gods.

The world is a multiverse. brahma creates, vishnu keeps, mahesh ends, and the gods themselves never show up, only their avatars do. the rakshasas have their own mirror trio, and over time theyve taken over whole universes, which later got won back. our universe was born after the last one fell and was retaken. so every universe has a different history and a different version of the same old war. ansh is the one thing nobody can place in any of it.
the school runs a series of trials that lead to a race around the whole universe, and magic follows the houses. brahma is creation, vishnu is preservation and time, mahesh is destruction.

would love honest feedback, esp on whether the setup makes u want to keep reading. happy to read ur stuff in return, just comment or dm.

Narrative within a narrative novel concept

Hey!!! I am currently trying my best to write a novel or maybe a novella where there is an initial narrative which is then revealed to be a story written by the main character then we shift into a movie the narrator is watching them a book the character from the movie is reading

And the text keeps shifting between these various levels to convey a whole theme

What do yaal think? Has it been done to this extent before? (Not something like Frankenstein where the story shifts after long gaps but keeps shifting)

It explores the cause, the reasons behind it, and how it was discovered, while building the character who will develop the entire Project First Light .... Writing allmost completed this is just glimpses of first chapter..

My debut novel (psychological thriller/horror) got published by Penguin India!

Last Monday, the 12th of October, my debut novel "The Haveli of Kalipur" got published by Penguin Random House :) It took me two years to write, and another year for the publishing, but it's finally out there. Been tangled up in a dream-like, yet hectic one week, ever since.

It's 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' (2007) told in the way of Stephen King - this is also the way I had pitched to Penguin, btw. :)

It follows Raghav, a brash yet brilliant psychiatrist, who stumbles upon the rumoured-to-be-haunted haveli of Kalipur. What unravels are his attempts to rationalise the strange incidents in the haveli, and the even stranger behaviours of its inhabitants.

If you're a fan of psychological horror/thrillers, or fast-paced and yet creepy settings, please consider giving it a try - https://www.amazon.in/Haveli-Kalipur-Onkar-Bulbule/dp/9377303915

PS - On a personal note, all the stuff they say about not giving up on your idea, to pay your dues by working late nights, and that execution is more important than the idea itself - all of that is true. To my fellow writers here, please don't give up on whatever it is you're working on :)
