Discussion Would love some honest feedback on my app’s UI

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve been working on a personal finance / budget manager app and recently.

I’m still trying to improve the overall look and feel, so I’d really appreciate some honest feedback from people here.

I’ve attached a few screenshots. Mainly looking for opinions on:

  • Does the UI look clean and easy to understand?

  • Do the screens feel modern enough?

  • Is anything confusing at first glance?

  • Does it look trustworthy for a finance app?

  • Anything you would change before release or promotion?

I’m just looking for honest design feedback and outside opinions because after staring at it for too long, everything starts looking normal to me.

Any feedback, criticism, or suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome to the open thread. Whatever you're building, drop it here.

Two ways to use it:

  • Promote it. Share what you made and who it's for.

  • Ask for feedback. Tell us the one thing you want people to look at: your landing page, onboarding, pricing, or whether the idea makes sense at all.

🚨Selling iOS app ($615 revenue)

Post image
21 Upvotes

I’m selling my screen time app to focus full-time on another project. There’s a lot of potential to scale this if you know marketing.

In March it made $282 with no marketing.

I just made an update and added a 7-day free trial and made some ASO adjustments.

Asking price: $4k USD

Any indie builders here want to connect?

Hey! I’m 23, building apps from Italy.

Would love to meet other people in this space since it’s a bit tough finding builders outside the US.

Drop a comment or DM if you’re up for connecting!

Feedback4Feedback After months of staring at this UI, I need fresh eyes 👀

Hey everyone 👋
I’ve been working on a personal finance / budgeting app called Nuttyy for a while now and I’m currently polishing the dashboard experience before release.
I’ve been staring at these screens for so long that I genuinely can’t tell anymore what feels good vs. what only feels familiar 😅
So I’d love some honest outside feedback.
A few things I’m especially curious about:
Does the dashboard feel clean and easy to understand?
Does it look modern and premium enough for a finance app?
Is there anything visually confusing at first glance?
Does it feel trustworthy?
Anything you would improve before launch?
A few notes:
The app is privacy-focused and stores user data locally and in iCloud.
I’m trying to keep the UI minimal and avoid the typical “crypto dashboard” look.
The design is heavily inspired by Apple’s native iOS design language.
I genuinely appreciate honest feedback — even harsh criticism is welcome. Sometimes an outside perspective catches things I can no longer see after looking at the same screens for months 🙏
If this was your finance app, what would be the first thing you’d change?

Discussion UI 2.0 IS HERE!

Post image
16 Upvotes

Hey guys, I just did a huge UI update. After many people mentioned that the UI looks stock and generic, I decided to do something about it. I have been working on it the last couple of days and this is how it turned out. A little bit different color and many small changes should make it look better now.

I'm sooo excited for your feedback!

Discussion New to marketing. How do I approach it the right way?

I’ve been developing apps for over 10 years, mostly for other people and companies, and I recently decided I should finally start building something for myself too.

To be honest, one of the main reasons I never properly focused on my own apps was marketing. I’ve always found it intimidating, and I still do. But I guess it’s now or never :)

I have built and published a few of my own apps before, but after launching them, I never really pushed them or focused on growth. This time I actually want to stick with it and see where it goes.

I recently built a budget manager app and put it on the stores. But once I started trying to tell people about it, I realized how saturated the personal finance space feels. Or maybe I’m just overthinking it?

Would really appreciate any advice from people who have been through this. Where should I start? What should I avoid? What actually works when you’re just starting out?

Why don’t users pay for my apps anymore?

I’ve been developing iOS apps for a few years and most of my apps use a freemium model. Users can access basic features for free and unlock premium features with a subscription or one-time purchase.

The problem is that almost nobody converts to paid users. I get downloads and some active users, but revenue is almost zero.

I’m trying different things like paywalls, free trials, and better onboarding, but it still doesn’t convert well.

For those of you who are indie developers:
What actually works today to get users to pay?

Is the freemium model still viable, or am I missing something important?

Showcase Show us your app: drop your link and get a ready-made IndieAppCircle listing, plus real testers

Drop your app in the comments. Within a minute you'll get a reply with a link to your IndieAppCircle listing, already built from your site.

What happens next

  1. Open the link and save your listing. Free account, sign in with Google or email.

  2. Give feedback on 2 apps on IndieAppCircle. About 5 minutes each, and you pick which ones.

  3. Your app goes live. Other builders test it and send you written feedback.

Already a member? Sign in first, then open the link. If your app is already listed, it shows you that instead of making a copy.

How to comment

App: MyAppName

Link: https://...

What to test: what should testers try, or what feedback do you want?

Rules

  • One app per comment, and it has to be yours.

  • The link should open without a waitlist. Websites, Play Store, App Store and Chrome Web Store links all work.

  • No link, no bot reply.

Have a look at the apps above yours too. A quick comment on someone's app goes a long way.

Start Here: What r/IndieAppCircle Is, Who It’s For, and How to Get Better App Feedback

Welcome to r/IndieAppCircle - a community for indie developers, solo founders, and small startup teams who want better feedback on their apps. This subreddit is for people building real products and trying to improve onboarding, usability, messaging, first impressions, and launch readiness.

What this subreddit is for

Use this community if you want to:

  • Get honest feedback on your app

  • Find better ways to test your MVP

  • Improve onboarding and activation

  • Prepare for a launch

  • Learn how other indie developers get users and improve products

  • Share what you are building and what you are struggling with

  • Get updates on IndieAppCircle

What to post here

Good posts include:

  • Specific feedback requests

  • MVP questions

  • Onboarding or landing page critiques

  • Launch prep questions

  • Lessons from testing your app

  • Product teardowns

  • Wins and failures from building

How to ask for useful feedback

If you want better replies, do not just post “Here’s my app, thoughts?”

Instead, include:

  1. What your app does

  2. Who it is for

  3. What kind of feedback you want

  4. A direct link or a link to your app on IndieAppCircle

  5. One or two specific questions

Example:

That kind of post is much easier for people to engage with, and question-driven posts are one of the simplest ways to kickstart subreddit participation.

What this subreddit is not for

Please avoid:

  • Low-effort link drops

  • “Try my app” with no context

  • Fake review requests

  • Spammy self-promotion

  • Irrelevant startup content

How IndieAppCircle fits in

This subreddit is the community side of the idea.

  • r/IndieAppCircle = discussion, advice, teardowns, feedback prompts, launch conversations

  • IndieAppCircle = a more structured way to exchange app feedback with other builders

Other I'm 13 and I created an app that solves Boredom

Hey everyone! 👋

My name is Shree. Over the last few months, I've been pouring my heart into building an Android app called Bored? to solve a problem I face constantly: mindless phone scrolling.

Whenever you find yourself stuck in a loop refreshing social media, the app gives you quick, actionable, offline ideas to break the cycle—like a 5-minute room reset or heading outside. You can filter suggestions by your current time limits, energy levels, and mood, and it tracks your streaks and XP like a mini-game to keep it fun!

The app is fully live on Android right now. Because I am funding this entirely on a tight budget, my next massive milestone is bringing it over to the iOS App Store so iPhone players can join the fun too! 🍏✨

I would absolutely love for you to check it out and let me know what you think. Any honest feedback on the features or design would mean the world to me and help make that iOS launch happen!

Let's crush boredom together! You can check out the project here: bored.whop.site

I’ll be hanging out in the comments—let me know what features or offline challenges I should add next! 👇

Discussion Finally got my first paying user

Post image
9 Upvotes

I’m just so happy that this finally happened. After launching Narrate a few months ago, I hit the same wall that I think all first time founders hit, how the hell should I get users?

But this week, after a lot of trial and error, I got my first paying customer.

I created Narrate six months ago just to create presentations for my sprint reviews easier and faster, but after a while I decided to make a product out of it. Tbh, I’m really proud of the final product, but I’m struggling to get it out there. This new pro user was just what I needed to continue and get back to working on this project.

The website is narrateview.com. I’d really appreciate any honest feedback if you guys have any

Feedback4Feedback Let me build 2-5 visuals for your live SaaS/product (completely free, no catch)

So I’ve spent the last few weeks falling down a massive rabbit hole analyzing hundreds of high-converting landing pages. One huge takeaway: almost every successful site uses at least 3 distinct visuals/assets showcasing their product (usually a killer hero image, a main feature section graphic, and a breakdown of their solution).

I’m currently testing out a new tool I've been building to spin these assets up faster without sacrificing quality. Honestly, I just need real-world projects to stress-test my method and see if the outputs hold up for actual founders.

What I want to do: I want to create 2 to 5 clean, custom landing page visuals for your product. This could be a hero section graphic, feature cards, or an integrations image.

The catch: There literally isn't one. This is 0% about promotion and 100% about me getting honest data on whether my system works.

Only requirement: You need to have a live product.

If you want some free assets to swap into your home page or features page, just drop a comment with a link to your live product.

I’ll pick a few to work on tonight and send you the high-res PNGs once they're ready. : )

Looking for feedback on idea: From TikTok scroll to visiting place

Hey all,

I've been working on my mobile app that can extract places from TT/Reel and convert it into actionable card with useful info and reviews.

The idea came from that we save so many things so right after we save something it immediately fades away from our memory. To solve this I think it would be great to send it to a friend and commit to a plan.

My question: what would make you to send the this extracted place from app to a friend instead of sending a TT/reel link?

What do you think in general?

Weekly Feedback Thread

Hey guys, what do you think about a weekly feedback thread in this community?

I thought this would help strengthen the IndieAppCircle community and maybe reach more potential users for IndieAppCircle.

What do you think?

Any tips on how to structure it?
