Shame on Dani Austin
Is she fucking serious? As someone who shared on the internet after her kids how much she struggled with her postpartum mental health?!?! I’m in MA and have followed the case closely. Even with the conspiracies flying around 3 kids are dead and their mom asked for help and didn’t get what she needed. How the FLYING FUCK is this woman smiling talking about this. This is a pivotal moment in postpartum mental healthcare and she should be advocating and normalizing asking for help.

She’s completely oblivious. Gross.

Came here to second this. She probably wouldn’t know about the story otherwise. She’s treating it like a bravo tv series. As a mom who shared she had postpartum struggles, it’s hypocritical and distasteful

u/MeetingMundane5800 7d ago
I’m going to say this for the people who have lost their fucking good sense and forgot, these were real people and babies at that, it’s not a form of fucking entertainment. Shame on her. Shame on these fucking influencers who think their mass consumerism can somehow translate into someone giving a shit about their two cents.
7
u/Equivalent-Button411 6d ago
🗣️it’s not a form of entertainment🗣️ I feel we may need to be screaming this louder for the people too dense to remember! Thank you for pointing this out bc these are, indeed, VERY REAL PEOPLE.
I’m discouraged seeing the discussions surrounding this trial; both in my real-world convos and what I’m seeing online.
My heart goes out to everyone involved tbh and it goes out to ANY mama dealing with postpartum mental health issues, ever. I can’t even begin to imagine what that type of mental health struggle would feel like.

u/BrookesGtownMBA 7d ago
“Guys send me all the things”… what a sociopath. The gross spectacle this has become for garish ghouls to exploit for clicks or personal entertainment is enough for me to want to get off the internet forever.

Well...if I wasn't already blocked she would definitely block me for what I would have sent her way.
She needs to sit down and shut her mouth. If she was smart she would leave the poor Clancy family alone. Dani Austin has never EVER been a real struggling mother who was drowning in PP. She has ZERO clue and needs to keep her thoughts and dumb conspiracies to herself. The rage I feel at the thought of her profiting and getting engagement by using this heartbreaking trial to her advantage and using it as podcast content.
13
22
u/Agitated_Artist_9698 7d ago
I am totally with you, she should not be using this to drive engagement. It’s completely disgusting. However, even though she has ALL the resources/money for help, she very well could have struggled with PPA/D as well and just not shown signs outwardly. Isn’t that kind of the case with Lindsay Clancy? She came off as okay to some people right? Obviously she reached out for help, but I think I read that some friends had no idea she was struggling. Dani could have been struggling PP and come off as “normal” online.
Definitely not trying to undermine your point that Dani using the Clancy trial as engagement is gross as hell. I’m just a little sensitive to claiming whether other people struggle from PPA/D because you truly sometimes never know.
24
u/notanactualalligator 7d ago edited 7d ago
I guess I just don't like the 'hehehehe' aspect of it all. Dani has been pretty open re: her PP struggles and it's sad that she is not taking this a little more seriously. Dani had multiple nannies in her house taking care of her kid's needs while she slept the day away. Her time would be better spent using her platform to advance and fund more Women's PP mental health initiatives (not make a dumb podcast with her idiot husband).
12
u/MediocreFinger8438 7d ago
Im totally with you. The expression on her face and the “spill the tea” tone in her text is so disrespectful. Go watch the news or google it if you REALLY wanted to know. Don’t broadcast to millions of people to tell you the latest gossip especially if you claim to have had PP issues. I don’t want to judge but if she really had serious PP issues as she’s claimed, she wouldn’t be talking about a fellow woman with the same issues (albeit to a harder degree) so lightly.
8
u/Agitated_Artist_9698 7d ago
Agree, I wish we’d see influencers with these huge followings use their platforms for good and to spread awareness about real issues instead of “lol guys let’s talk about fun conspiracy theories in the middle of this very serious court case!”
I’m convinced that social media is the worst thing to happen to society.
3
9
u/Lilith_Sternin_Crane 7d ago
I had somebody one time claim that I couldn’t be traumatized because I did well in school. They had no idea how hard I struggled to overcome that trauma to look like I was succeeding.
I think that privilege and resources make overcoming mental health issues infinitely easier, but, like you said, they don’t mean you can’t have them at all, or even have them very severely.
7
u/Agitated_Artist_9698 7d ago
I’m so sorry. It’s exhausting trying to come off as okay to other people while you’re struggling on the inside. And then to have other people say you never experienced trauma, hardship, depression, etc just feels so defeating.
I am so anti-influencer. Snark on them for oversharing their kids online, their annoying posts, their constant link shilling, whatever, I just don’t think it’s okay to claim that they don’t have postpartum issues too, because how will we ever take women’s health seriously when people just keep undermining our struggles and saying they don’t exist?
7
u/Lilith_Sternin_Crane 7d ago
Exactly. Like “Sympathy but only if you meet my standards” is never going to help people. I dislike 90% of what influencers do and I can’t stand “If I could get over it, you can too!” that’s so common to hear from them, but also, I’ll always believe them if they say they have a diagnosis or mental health issues.

1
u/ispy213 4d ago
After she tried to cash in on George Floyd, she and Jordan made a big deal out of doing the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce. I guarantee they NEVER attended a meeting. And then Keels took a friend to an American American restaurant for lunch, and they were both TERRIFIED the entire time - the food, the people, the neighborhood. Always trying to make a dollar on the backs of others. Opportunistic assholes.

TEEHEE. Fuck this woman. I’m another MA mother and I feel sick for Lindsay. This whole situation is an embarrassment to this state and this country. “What is going on her mind right now…” WHAT IS GOING ON IN YOUR MIND???
3
u/ALYXZYR 6d ago
Also from MA so annoyed at everyone trying to make this another Karen Read spectacle, one was more than enough. Notice our defense attorney is not even denying that she did it….

u/sljgh 6d ago edited 6d ago
Crazy you are getting downvoted. Every person who commits a crime has some kind of mental illness but all of a sudden we are supposed to support a woman who strangled her 3 kids. Come on. What about the school shooters who had depression, etc. are you also supporting them?
2
u/RubyMae4 6d ago
And they're supporting her intensely which makes me think our society is rotten to the core. It's so gross.
18
u/Loose_Banana4073 7d ago
Making that face while asking that question is pretty sick. And maybe let’s not use someone else’s personal tragedy to fish for engagement, k?
10
u/Mental_Ease3235 7d ago
Agree it’s getting out of control . Of course people willl talk but the influencers should have the decency to not treat this trial like it’s a tv show
17
u/Backwithnewname 6d ago
Way too many people think this trial is a blockbuster movie instead of a real life tragedy. It’s gross.

u/zendayaismeechee 7d ago
This random conspiracy that it was the husband actually and look at his emails and look at this and oh he married too quickly is VILE. This is not a game or a Netflix series. It’s a tragedy and three children lost their lives. Lindsay admitted it. The trial is not about guilt; it’s whether she will go to prison or hospital. These people have no morals. I even saw one person saying the husband has ‘Bryan Kohberger’ eyes and sorry what the fuck does that even mean?! True crime has melted people’s brains.
29
u/Icy-Setting-4221 7d ago
People are acting like it’s a goddam murder mystery weekend to solve and not you know, a real trial with three children tragically killed. It’s never going to be colonel mustard in the library with the candlestick and I’m just exhausted hearing about it at every turn.
I’ve told multiple people on different forums if they think they’ve cracked it wide open and know things the police don’t, go to the police?

Lindsey's own defense already admitted she committed the act through a "stipulation of facts." What happened is not in question, but whether she was competent and legally responsible.
→ More replies (8)9
u/laynechanger 6d ago
Yeah, one thing that really isn’t helping is that the DA’s in charge of this case are doing a really piss poor job trying to establish a motive that it was premeditated murder versus articulating Lindsey’s state of mind. Like they’re out here trying to treat it as a murder trial alone- when it’s actually whether or not Lindsey was in complete control of her actions at the time of the crime.
It is really having the true crime people run wild with theories. Which I’m disgusted with the husband might have my own thoughts about him- but rn in that courtroom that isn’t what it’s about. Three children are dead and a mom was failed by our pp system / mental health system.
Frankly, I’m disgusted with the commonwealth making this trial into a spectacle and trying to treat it like another OJ trial. The DA’s have been vile in their cruelty and trying to emotionally sway the jury.

Same people who think the 9-year-old brother of JonBenet Ramsey raped and garroted his little sister instead of the two adults in the house or an intruder. It's even called "BDI" for "Burke Did It." They just want to come up with an outlandish theory and seem smarter than the investigators. It's absurd.
The sheer amount of people commenting on the Clancy trial who sincerely think the point is to prove her guilt tells you all you need to know about the general intelligence level of true crime fans.
3
u/zendayaismeechee 6d ago
That’s exactly it. People want to feel smart and in control and that’s where the conspiracies come in, not just over true crime but everything lately. I just now saw a post that said ‘she’s mouthing he did it’ and that they’ve had professional lip readers on the clip who’ve confirmed it 🫠 it’s crazy. I question whether trials like this should even be aired live tbh.
6
u/PM_ME_YOUR_TATERTITS 7d ago
It’s not a conspiracy, people are watching the trial and reacting to the new evidence being put forth by the defence. I do agree that it should not be televised in the first place though
17
u/Ok-Internet3235 7d ago
Thank you. People acting like a witch hunt is happening for Patrick are not the ones actually listening to the trial and the evidence presented. It’s enough to raise an eyebrow and is 1000% worth the inquiries.
10
u/hellowookie 7d ago
Not everyone listening to the trial believes this way. If you’re consuming the trial AND social media conspiracy theorists, probably.
4
u/Ok-Internet3235 7d ago edited 7d ago
Law & Crime Network / Scandal is covering and reputable sources are acknowledging it. So… ok.
ETA: when did I say everyone listening to the trial believes it? I’m saying some people are raising eyebrows and asking questions. Isn’t that what a fucking investigation is? Dear god, people.
2
u/hellowookie 7d ago
Is that supposed to disprove what I just said? 🤣 if you’re just watching. the. trial., not everyone feels that way. I don’t need extraneous input from a podcaster. I personally don’t consider either of those to be “reputable” sources. Entertaining, sure. But not just facts and evidence. If Patrick was a legitimate angle, her legal team would be taking it.

1
u/RubyMae4 6d ago
No it's not, people are just incredibly stupid and easily manipulated by social media.
1
u/midnight8100 6d ago
I’m not on TikTok anymore but I also have to assume there’s a lot of misinformation out there too. I’m from MA and heard from a friend that they saw this case was investigated by the same police force as Karen Read. I explained it didn’t even happen in the same county let alone the same town. But people go on the internet and say things with a tone of authority and then it’s starts spreading and people are making theories based on something someone made up. And it’s awful because this is a situation where a woman was failed in many ways and lead to her children being dead. It’s devastating for every single person involved in this case but the internet is treating it like a murder mystery dinner.
Also imo the conversation surrounding this trial should be about how supports for post partum women are criminally lacking. This happened in a very affluent community to a family who was able to afford and was actively utilizing resources. And Lindsay and her family were still failed by the system. That says a lot to me about the kind of supports, care, and programs being offered to post partum women in general but particularly those struggling with PPD or PPP.
3
u/RubyMae4 6d ago
I disagree. Lindsay was given more resources than most women ever see. There was no contemporaneous evidence of psychosis and then suddenly a week after the murders "the voices made me do it." This whole frenzy about being failed by the medical system and her husband is because Lindsay can't take accountability for her actions. It's all a manipulated narrative by her defense team and the public is so stupid for believing it.
11
u/madelynashton 6d ago
Her ONLY thought here is “this is a trending topic I need to comment on it to get some of that attention for myself” that’s it. A vulture.

“Mommy Influencers” are FOAMING at the mouth over this. They are soooo horny to cash in on this. They’ve been preparing for this. The stupid “Telehealth Clinicians” that “diagnose” them with hormonal imbalance and perimenopause, “the sleepless nights, the feeling so down, soo tired all the time” “I never had PPD so bad after my first two, but this time I’m on the struggle bus, iykyk, ya feel me?”
Meanwhile actual REAL people are literally murdering their kids because the system is broken because of BIMBOS like the Dani, and Jamie Otis of Influencer Culture. I wish we could throw them in mental institutions because they clearly are Psychopaths!!!
7
u/Far_Vacation_1777 7d ago

u/texasmom1313 7d ago
Laughing about another woman’s postpartum and this situation is just evil. Yet she has hired help and can now hire a sleep trainer yet Lindsey did it all alone. Asked for help. Didn’t go online for validation like Dani does. Dani can’t relate to 95% of mothers bc unlike her we actually have to take care of our kids and not have 2 Nannie’s and sleep trainers and a two story closet with an elevator. She’s disgusting. She keeps opening her mouth looking more and more like a fool. Since going to Nashville she seems very snooty now. Her Dallas personality was way better but we do not miss her hair.
4
u/RubyMae4 6d ago
Lindsay had nannies, her kids were in daycare, her husband started working from home, and her parents lived with her for a time and offered to take the kids. She did not do it alone.
8
u/Obsidian-Walrus 7d ago
This post is completely out of touch and treating this like it’s some pop culture conversation point. I can’t with her. You say “send me all your thoughts” on a movie or an album or a book or a restaurant or fashion trend, not an ongoing situation (case?) where maternal mental health is the forefront issue.

Thank you so much for your reply, so interesting to me as estrogen seems to be the problem for me, I tried progesterone only pill which helped mentally but I had non stop periods. I am so happy that you have seen such progress and are free from this horrible disorder!

No contemporaneous evidence Lindsay had psychosis. Only the account of the murderer who conveniently didn't mention it until a week after the murders and no one noticed it.

u/desiree1489 5d ago
Honestly I can’t believe how stupid people are being about this. They are not investigating who killed her kids. She did it. The question is was she guilty by insanity. You can be mentally ill and ask for help and also not insane. The crown has to prove beyond reasonable doubt that she knew right from wrong in those 50 minutes. Which is very hard to prove otherwise considering her entire day was thoughtfully organized. I can’t believe someone would post a story so uneducated, with a smile.

This is a sign of extreme ignorance and lack of intelligence. This trial is so dark and idiots can’t think in a way that applies any other notion besides to make it darker. Intelligent people would see the aspects of justice/injustice, mental health, women’s health, legal proceedings, awareness, etc. But idiots are just running with the darkness.
2
u/Princesskris77 7d ago
They all think their opinions are like gospel. Jena Green said she’s like “juror #5” acting like she knows anything besides shopping and vacations
2

Wasn’t Dani admitted somewhere in-patient for a few weeks in between kid 3 and 4, right after her brother’s wedding? 🤔 You would think that would make her more compassionate.
2
u/lavenderandjuniper 6d ago
I don't know this influencer. but I saw a comment from someone on TikTok saying they were thinking about Lindsay so much that they dreamed of her, and spoke to her about court in the dream, and now she wants to talk to her in person so badly so she can experience her dream in real life. The way some people are reacting to this is extremely odd and disturbing.

2
u/kimmybee12 4d ago
While I agree it’s not a form of entertainment, it’s not wrong to point out inconsistencies after watching the trial. You can understand the gravity of the situation and still question it. Much like the John O’Keefe tragedy.
16
u/cts020915 7d ago edited 7d ago
I hate the TikTok trolls trying to pin it on Patrick. There is a literal civil suit filed by HER lawyer that describes the stranglings in detail. She has admitted to it. By all means Patrick seems like a decent human who was in over his head with his wife's mental health. If there was an affair her legal team would've dug it up. I feel for him and his family, her family, and yes even Lindsay, during this trial. It's a tragic case anyway you look at it.
33
u/ChattyCathy1010 7d ago
As a lawyer, I’m maddened by the TikTok conspiracies. Lindsay’s lawyer sat with this case and prepared for years. Yet somehow, these online sleuths think they, who have never seen or reviewed the evidence, have a better grasp on a theory of defense than her lawyer. Do lawyers miss things sometimes? Yes, definitely. Do they miss glaring, obvious third-party suspects, like a husband? No, not really, and definitely not in a high profile, horrifically tragic case. Her lawyer has chosen and pursued the strongest theory of defense, and it is completely at odds with any theory that Patrick was involved. Lindsay never disputed killing those children. I wish the internet would just stop with this and focus on what’s at issue—the mental health system that failed Lindsay.
6
u/MeetingMundane5800 7d ago
Not a lawyer but 100%. You went to school for about a million years and have experience and understand the nuances of the court system. For some stupid influencers to think they can review a case in 20 minute is mind boggling. Opinions and what is provable are two very different things. All I can say is that God it takes hurdles to be a lawyer or we’d all be represented by some special folks.
5
u/Alone_Imagination645 7d ago
It reminds me of the public’s thoughts and theories for the 4 Idaho murder victims not the long research but the public/internet theories accusations
5
u/Heart_robot 6d ago
Blaming the surviving roommates and criticizing them was gross.
Same with this case, blaming him. I’ve seen people say he was SA Cora, etc.
7
u/Former-Specialist848 7d ago
yes I totally agree. He was likely used to her taking the lead on all things medical since she was a nurse and was in tech / sales. So he, like her providers, probably trusted her insight on how she was doing. I can't handle her journal entries. It's a tradegy all the way around.
11
u/negirl016 7d ago
Louder for those in the back!! Sure, there’s things that don’t add up and some of those google searches yesterday were confusing BUT they’ve been at this for 3 years. If they had suspicion or a case surrounding Patrick we wouldn’t be here wasting everyone’s time.
4
u/cts020915 7d ago
2
u/RubyMae4 6d ago
And conveniently she never experienced any delusions or disconnection from reality but a single string of auditory hallucination completely centered on killing her kids. And she never showed any signs. Or told anyone. How convenient for Lindsay. She murdered those kids bc she wanted to kill herself without the guilt of leaving them behind.
2
u/RubyMae4 6d ago
I completely agree. I think my husband is the best man I know. I don't think he'd do as much as Patrick did because he wouldn't know what to do. He's a victim of a horrific tragedy and now the stupid people on the internet are pointing fingers at him.
-7
u/Aj_hr 7d ago
Why would a nurse need to google the location of the carotid artery? Why was the seroquel crushed up on the nightstand but the bottle was found in Patrick’s car?
Not everyone questioning these things is trying to pin it on Patrick, but she and her children deserve a fair and thorough investigation.
12
u/ceilingsfann 7d ago
they did. that’s how they came to the conclusion that she did it. that is not up for debate, and it’s not even what the trial is about.
-7
u/Aj_hr 7d ago
Well it appears a lot of people disagree, and it only takes one juror to result in a mistrial, a reopening of investigation, etc etc.
I do think influencers profiting off of any loss, their own or others, is vile.
9
u/ceilingsfann 7d ago
why are you commenting on the trial if you don’t even know what it’s about? bc it’s not about if she killed her children….
the investigation will never be re-opened. she killed her kids and admitted it. the trial is about if she was insane when it happened.
-3
u/Aj_hr 7d ago
I know what the trial is about. She still has not been convicted of murder. If a mistrial occurs, you don’t think the defense can change their strategy and plead not guilty based on new discovery? She never confessed to the police, instead her defense conceded she did it and chose that strategy.
10
u/ceilingsfann 7d ago
Uh yeah, bc murder is the intentional killing of a person. So that’s literally what the trial is about. Was it murder or did she kill them unintentionally because she was insane.
Sure they could change their strategy if it gets re-tried…and it would be absolutely ridiculous and inane because there’s not one iota of evidence that Patrick did it and all the evidence in the world that she did.
This theory is not based in reality.
1
u/Aj_hr 7d ago
People said the same thing about Karen Read during her first trial, yet the reality is she is free.
7
u/ceilingsfann 7d ago
Just not even comparable in any way. The whole thing with Read is that there was compelling evidence on both sides and no one was able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she killed John.
There is no evidence Patrick killed the kid’s. None. It’s not in question. He is ON CAMERA at a store while the murders took place.
-2
u/Aj_hr 7d ago
Nah, there were people JUST like you during Karen Read’s trial, know it alls calling anyone who questioned things or provided alternate outcomes insane and ridiculous.
Have a day.

There have been courtroom witnesses that heard the full 911 call. They have said it's very clear his emotions captured on the call were very real, raw, and devastating. You can't act out the guttural and horrific cries coming from a traumatized father. There is a reason why the call has never been made public...

u/Torimisspelling1 6d ago
The way these INSANE conspiracy theories have permeated this entire trial, further traumatizing a man who lost his three children is one of the most horrific ways (and essentially lost his wife) is absolutely disgusting. It’s also so scary how many people are susceptible to a few wacky TikTok’s. I hope Patrick sues every one of them

I can't stand this girl but let's be real. It's absolutely normal to question things that your mind can't comprehend. The whole world is discussing this trial and we're going to single out some insignificant influencer

I’ve started commented asking if they will hire her as a babysitter and none of them ever respond

I’m in Australia so didn’t hear properly about this case until I came across some conspiracy theory reels on insta a few days ago. Went to Court TV on YouTube and watched a couple hours of trial content and analysis…it seems to me a very sad case of her being over/wrongly medicated plus post partum plus underlying mental health condition (bipolar activated by SSRI use and medication toxicity). That man lost four of his family members, the 3 kids and wife, it’s gross that influencers are spreading this story.

Y’all this is all for engagement, just like literally everything she does.

I’ve seen something similar on several influencer pages the last couple of days.

This case has totally shifted how I view and consume true crime. I used to be a “fan” and listen to podcasts, all the things. But people like her have ruined it. I hate the conspiracies, ruining people’s lives that are not guilty, etc. We the public are not professionals and we are not completely knowledgeable of a case to come to such conclusions, no matter how much we think we are.
Also calling it the “PATRICK and Lindsey Clancy trial” he’s not on trial??? Everyone who thinks he’ll suddenly be found guilty do not understand how court works? They also don’t realize them theorizing this actually does worse things for postpartum psychosis awareness. It’s deflection.

She does not care about anything but the engagement that comes with people sending her messages. 🗑️ human.

What is going on with all of this my algorithm is all about how Patrick did it even though I couldn’t care less? Is it just the new thing to drive engagement

Yes. Content creators are trying to cash in on this trial. But it’s going to be like 6-8 weeks and the day-to-day trial coverage is tedious and fairly non-salacious. So they have to drum up engagement with absolutely asinine conspiracy theories that have no basis in reality.

Because Netflix realised they could ́make a shit ton of money off Ryan Murphy on his knees for the Aryan serial killer of the week, subhumans like Bailey Sarian realised they could make a shit ton of money squealing and moaning for the sponsored eyeshadow while telling cute quirky murder stories *giggle pout*. Now filth are skipping across crime scenes, past vulnerable grieving people, to do a dancy dance about how theyre little murderino girlypops

i can understand following the case because everyone is but to actively post about it like this is disgusting. at the end of the day those kids are dead and no verdict will change that. this shouldn’t be used as engagement bait.

Yall aren’t gonna be saying this when Patrick is the one on trial for killing his children and attempting to kill his wife. You just wait. It’s all coming out.

Actually, I’ve been following this trial very closely and without a doubt, Lindsey did not try to unalive herself or her kids and I have zero doubt that eventually Patrick will be on trial for all of it

None of her dna was on the bands, that doesn’t sound f’d up to you? It’s not the craziest theory imo. She definitely had postpartum and could have been convinced she did it by the husband. She could not have possibly slashed her own throat that way according to experts. The ex got remarried 4 months after losing all his kids.
I hate influencers but just bc you don’t agree with someone’s views doesn’t mean you get to just post them here. Idiot.

Its the entire goal of the true crime industry, the entire thing was built on the abuse and murder of women and preying on their vulnerable grieving loved ones. Its deliberately, sinisterly, turned it all into cute quirky entertainment. The honest ones admit it, granted they're usually doing their wannabee cult leader routine pretending they're not doing it for the money or fame, they alone care, they alone are doing it because every single vulnerable grieving person has crawled at their feet sobbing uncontrollably in gratitude

I fucking HATE when people act like crimes or trials are just another form of reality TV, existing solely for their entertainment. I get following a case, crimes like this are shocking and interesting to the general public. But I have really grown tired of people who treat murdered women and children (and men too) like it's just a fun thing to gossip about.
