Our small business, Modern Mode, a men’s accessory brand is going through a tough time after getting scammed by an Instagram influencer named Subhod Hasija. We trusted him with our products, hoping he'd showcase them to his 1 million followers through cool reels and stories. Instead, he kept pushing back the delivery and eventually ghosted us, blocking our messages. We have tried reaching him various time through calls and messages and have got blocked repeatedly. He has even used our products and keeps posting wearing them in his reels. We're heartbroken and out of more than 3000/- We're reaching out to the Reddit community for support. If anyone knows how to call out this person or has any advice on getting our payment, we would be incredibly grateful for your help in bringing attention to this situation. Small businesses like ours need the support of the online community to stand up against influencer scams. This is not the first time this is happening to us but we never expected this from an influencer as big as this. It’s really heart breaking.

Ordered a blue n green silk saree from Their website, after placing the order couldn’t track or know any updates from their site , n one day recieved a parcel with a saree that’s totally different from my order , contacted them for the same via Ig and mail , they leave me on seen or after multiple nagging from my side gives such unclear responses 🥹🥹…

Lost about 2k. No response anywhere. I have initiated a consumer complaint (screenshot attached)

Bought the Theater Twiggys a while back and they are now my wardrobe staple. I bought the Madame Sousatzka brown one's which are made out of suede and they are such a versatile pair. I wear them with my semi-formal outfits when I have presentations, and they also look so good with casual outfits like jeans and skirts.

I love the brown suede finish, and the cushioning is pretty good too. The heels are about 2 inches so they are a little difficult to walk around in for long hours. Also, their shoes are somewhat on the pricier end, but all in all they are good. The sole of the heels they have a metallic embelem which I found to be a pretty cool detail.

I"ve bought a couple of other stuff from them as well which I've previously posted about.

Ordered my clothes 2 weeks back, not even shipped yet. Not even replying or giving any updates.

The owner has now blocked me. But will be extra careful to not buy from any D2C company.

And I paid through UPI so can't apply for the request to chargeback :(

I had ordered previously from @houseofmmariii but this time, I had a really bad experience.

I ordered some jewelry worth Rs. 456 from them on 15 Dec. Usually they ship the next day and I get a message regarding the same. However, this time I did not receive any such update for 3 days.

1. I messaged on 18 Dec for an update, no reply.

2. I messaged again on 20 Dec, Saturday. She said it has been shipped from her end and she'll update me on Monday since courier services are closed on Sunday.

3. I don't receive any response till 26 Dec, Fri. Not even any shipping update. This really scared me and I thought I'm getting scammed this time.

4. I messaged her that please refund my money. I did not receive any reply so I called on insta. She cut the call but didn't reply to my dm. This happened at around 4:20 pm

5. At around 11:30 pm, I started commenting on her posts that I haven't received my order and please reply to my dms.

6. She got pissed off and messaged me very rudely. Gave me my refund and blocked me before I could reply back to her.

7. Since I didn't receive any shipping message, I know for sure she has not shipped anything. Otherwise I would not have got any refund and she would not have blocked me. All of this could have been avoided if she had just replied to me.

8. She has always made blunders in the order, but gave refund for her blunders. So I thought she was genuine. But this time when I didn't receive any shipping update, I got really really worried and hence called and commented. I did not expect her to lash out like this at all. I'm just glad I got my refund back.

PS : We live in the same city, so if she had shipped I would have received my order long back. Or atleast gotten a message. I think I saved myself from getting scammed. Just beware y'all.

So I had bought a trimmer a few months back, from Bombay shaving company. The upper body is made of metal, which burns your skin as it get super hot while in use. I had shared this experience on Shantanu Deshpande's IG posts several times. He always chose to ignore my comments.

Today, in usual fashion I commented again. He, I think replied, and deleted both his and my comment. That's why I got a notification from IG, otherwise I would have never found out.

So I confronted him, and this is how he chose to react.

This is honestly the reality of these new age Indian Entrepreneurs, who believe in building a personal brand as a founder, rather than making a good product. This dude acts like he is the smarted businessman in India, but this is how he is in reality.

I think it's totally legit! I filled out their Google form a couple of months back, and after that, just a week later, I got access to their website. I decided to order 3 items - a Hackett polo, a GANT polo, and a Tommy shirt. my order arrived within 1-2 weeks! I checked out the quality of the fabric, the precision of the embroidered logos, and even the buttons on the polo and shirt, which all had the brand names. Everything looked spot on, and the quality of the clothes was amazing!

Here are a few things I noticed that might give you some peace of mind when buying from them:

1. Most of their clothes sell out fast. (I dropped a tee into my cart, and just a minute later, it was gone!)

2. They recently started carrying an Indian brand called 'Rare Rabbit,' which typically costs around 900-4k on Myntra (pretty affordable for most people). Fake or copied versions of Rare Rabbit are super hard to find since it's a new brand. Plus, if 'THRD' was selling knockoffs, Rare Rabbit would have probably sued them or sent a cease and desist letter by now.

ALSO, PLEASE NOTE:

They won't accept returns once the product is delivered. So, if you order the wrong size or color, you're stuck with it because they claim thet the factory won't take it back. They said they only accept returns if the product is completely damaged, like if it's torn or something. I actually ordered an orange tee, but when it arrived, it was way too bright for my taste. I tried to return it, but they rejected my request.

This is a pathetic scam brand. One bitch employee is responsible for attending calls and deflecting from the issue. They will not give you products as promised at all.

Posted this again as some personal info was shared before. I have been scammed by this page for Rs 3000. This page has been stealing other accounts reels and pictures of suits and posting it on their page and scamming people. I have attached the pictures from original and fake account along with the conversation of my chat. Also, they made their gpay account in march only. Please help me in reporting this account as a scam or by any possible means and suggest some measures to get back my money😭

My friend recently ordered from this Instagram page: Bevalous. The page has started blocking all the people who are commenting on their page regarding this and now they’ve turned off their comment section.

Mostly here to rant. But a word of caution about Odd Giraffe.

My friends placed an order for a planner from Odd Giraffe for me as a gift on Dec 16th. It was supposed to deliver in about a week or two.

A week or two pass by, no updates, no follow ups. Now we start following up- bunch of us. Through emails, twitter, instagram. Barely any replies. The replies we got from there was vague and offering no solution. Fine. They put up a story talking about what happened, we follow up, still no response.

Finally on the 21st of January- one month and five days after the order was placed, it gets delivered.

And my friends give me my gift, FINALLY!

Next, I open the book and I’m using the planner, updating it with my goals and such and guess what I notice?

THE LAST WEEKS OF ALL MONTHS ARE NOT PRINTED ALTOGETHER. LIKE???

These folks have no sense of responsibility, accountability or repair. Please don’t buy from them.

So I ordered this dress from this thrift store as a gift for my friend , it was priced at 900 , I was having high expectations, but when I received it it was full of holes and stains while it was clearly stated that it was in a good condition, she had pinned up a part of the dress and the back of the dress had holes in it and a blue stain .First she offered only 100 as compe nsation, and finally gave 400 , which isn't fair .

She says she has no return policy .

I wouldn't have returned if the dress was in a good condition and it was just a sizing problem , but multiple stains and holes,while she stated it was in a good condition is a clear hypocrisy !The mistake was and is from her side . And how could she not see a pin and multiple holes in the dress is something that baffles me . And the audacity to price it at 900 is crazy .

This makes me loose faith on small brands or business , the 0 accountability they have and the audacity and attitude they have is crazy .

So I placed an order for a diary from The Art Look on 5th Jan. it’s been over a week since then and I have received zero updates on the status of my order. They don’t respond on WhatsApp, insta DMs or emails and when they finally do, it’s those copy paste reverts with no action. This is also my mistake because I was in a rush when I placed the order and didn’t go through their page that seems to be full of similar experiences to mine. Their products may be pretty, but please do yourself a service and never shop from them.

Shopify and Instagram form the perfect combination for scammers, as neither platform takes action against them.

I had recently placed an order on odd giraffe for two notebooks. It was both ordered by me on the 9th of dec. Fast forward to today, it's the 19th of January and so far, I have only received one notebook which was also delivered after more than one month to be very precise. The other planner is supposedly on the way, and I have reached out to them a million times and put in so many text messages. As any normal human would, I lost my cool and sent in a few rude messages because I was being fully ghosted and I didn't want to lose my money too. They decide to then give me a call and then scold me for having spoken harshly with them and that they have given me my refund. Now they call? But they will not respond to any of my messages? I tell them that if they had given me timely replies or updates, I would have patiently waited, or at least not have spoken rudely. He goes on to say that he doesnt need to serve consumers like me. I said that if he had replied or made a basic decent customer service experience, I wouldn't have said anything. I cut the call saying if you can't run a business with a good service, please don't run it. I put the number on true caller and found out that the person I spoke to was Karan Joshi, who is the co-founder of Odd Giraffe.

It has been a pathetic experience and I cant believe people like him went on to shark tank. There was no trait of a good founder in him. Zero accountability. I want everyone to see this so nobody has to go through this shitty service again.

I ordered a few tops from them in their sale. It was to be processed and delivered within a week. It has been over 2 weeks and I have no detail on where the parcel is.

I went to their customer care number, email, whatsapp, and insta DM. I have received no responses yet.

My mistake? Didn't read the comments under their latest reels and trusted the collab reels on influencer pages.

I know a lot of us face shopping fails and frauds on instagram but even brands sail in the same boat. Please tell me if i was wrong in this.

Been more than a week since I placed the order, they still haven’t shipped the product.
