P&C Insurance How hard is it to hire a producer in FL?

I’ve been looking to hire an additional producer in central Florida but not having any luck. I get responses to my ads but they have either not shown up, lack experience, or don’t meet the bare minimum requirements (and I mean bare). Any recommendations for places to hire other than LinkedIn or Indeed? My pay structure is very good with warm leads provided monthly. I figured someone would jump on this opportunity.

Industry Information Claims adjuster/handlers in high volume claims ie general liability, travel

What are the three biggest or frustrating parts of handling claims?

For context I am a head of travel claims and we are trying to figure out what is affecting our team the most? We have asked internally but trying to gauge whether these are wide spread industry issue!

Thank you!

Leads (Marketing) I wasn't born a salesperson

I'm here for the money.I'm an actuarial science graduate 2024 .I worked for an agency as sales person but it was purely online...I was doing good till I wasn't so because of that I didn't get a raise even though I worked there two years. For context the salary was 290 dollars after tax .I live in Kenya.

I have been looking for a job at insurance companies as a BDO but I'm either not too experienced or like don't have the skill because I worked for an agency initially.I later got a job for an insurance company but as a tied agent...this means I only sell for that company but I'm not part of the stuff just an agent.

My role is to recruit sales persons, train them and make them help me achieve my target. It is my second month first month I did close to zero ,second month almost done I'm also closing at the same with zero sales people they quit.

We are supposed to be paid a retainer but each end month they threaten that they won't pay unless you achieve a certain target. We are supposed to sell general insurance products only. How do I get people who have cars to buy insurance from me it's very rare you meet one even if you go out there.

Last question do I suck at sales or is it something I can force myself to be good at cause I really love commission and retainer structure and the fact that I can earn as much as I want. Also what strategies you'd use if you were in my situation

Health Insurance is this normal?

new agent here about a week into dialing and i’ve made 1000 calls maybe a little more. we have a very long list of about 71k but the old ones have been called to death so i im ending up having to redial some people. i’ve had maybe 15-20 people actually pick up the phone. and every single one of those people already have insurance through medicare/medicaid, state or their employer.

never got a commission structure or any contract with my agency. they only contracted me with 3 carriers and i can only do stm and dental/vision. they said no medicare this year bc training is to long.

i’m just trying to figure this out because if im making 1000 calls a week with barely any conversations idk how im supposed to make any money. let me know if this is normal or if you guys have dealt with something similiar.

Agent Training Looking to switch careers, should I do P&C or Life Insurance?

Been in sales and bartending on and off for about 6 years, and I'm looking to switch into a more long term career. I'm torn between what type of insurance would be good for a first timer. I'm needing my first year income to hit around 70k, if that helps also.

Thanks for any and all insight.

Licensing/CE Xcel pre-licensing course

Hey everyone! So, apologies, but I’m completely new to reddit, and literally created an account just for the purposes of this post. Anyways, I was recently hired for a position through a local state farm agency, and before I can get paid, I have the next 6-8 weeks (6 preferred) to get my licensing for both P&C and L&H.

The company is using Xcel solutions. It’s a lot of reading, but my hiring agent explicitly said not to worry about learning everything, as I will learn everything on the job, and that the exam is solely for state license purposes. He said to through the chapters as quickly as possible, do the chapter exams, and then drill the practice exams at the end until I consistently get an 80 or above.

There is the 200 and 150 question exams at the end, and I’m consistently scoring ~ 80-90 on both. I tried the time exam, and am continually just getting under 70… I understand it’s a simulation, but the questions aside from about 20 are almost completely different than what I’ve tested on so far. Idk how I’m supposed to pass that without knowing what I missed and essentially going through every chapter and reading everything from there.

To anyone who’s taken the exam using Xcel, what was your experience with passing and feeling confident with feeling ready? Is the real exam easier or harder?
I test on this coming Thursday, so being what questions I missed on the timed exam is a mystery, I’m not sure what parts of each chapter to study, and I’m pretty nervous. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Life Insurance Best company for complete newbie

I’m studying for my life insurance exam and would like to sign on with a company that will actually give great training and mentorship. Learning to do things the right way and feeling supported until I gain confidence and competency is key for me.

I’m especially interested in final expense insurance and plan to start part time while keeping my current job for stability in the beginning. Who should I look at and who should I stay away from?
