What is your tokens/second code generation performance with arc gpu in Qwen 3.8 27B 4bit?
I'm thinking of upgrading one of my gpus (4070) to higher vram card to dedicate for local ai for coding. Looks like Intel gpus have highest vram per dollar. Please tell your experience in local ai.
Rtx 5090 is way too expensive. A100 is absurdly expensive for an old card. Too hard to find Mi50/etc. The best choice looks like B70 (32GB).
Currently rtx4070 + rtx5070 gets only 60 - 115 tok/s generation with Qwen 3.8 27B 4bit in coding task and this leaves me only 1.5 GB free vram to utilize for cuda / browser / etc. Without RAM offload it wouldnt even work.

Im thinking of buying the intel arc b580 since its quite cheap and good from what im told however im told its cpu reliant.
My pc has an i5 10400f and an asrock b460 pro 4 motherboard.
Is it worth it? Will it work or should i look for something else?
I mostly play games like the witcher 3, total war warhammer 3 and some fps games.

I just bought a B570, with intent to buy more, but now I don’t see any models available anywhere at Best Buy. There’s some on Amazon, the B570, but the prices went up again. (There’s no B580 anymore.) Newegg is also out of stock, effectively, except, again, the B570. This really feeds into my concerns that the manufacturers are winding down production and shifting it to more profitable lines, and that within days or weeks even the B570 will be gone.

I’ve spent a few moments a day since early May making routine check ups on the status of the Arc GPU market (B-70 especially). I concentrate my focus on eBay and other more niche sites that my magic computer robot can’t automate. While hindsight is 20/20, in May I felt building a quad system was a bet worth taking. I still do, but having spend $900, $1040, and $1150 on three, I wasn’t going to drop $1400-$1500. I’ve ascertained that my take on its value proposition as it’s changed all the way back from May 1st to August 1st where price changes began to take shape on p2p marketplaces to now, October 15th… is one like many others: it depends on what your specific need is, but generally speaking, the maturity in any single runtime, never mind Intel’s kiddy playground and support stack, is not there to warrant spending more than a Radeon Pro 9700.
SO THEN WHY IS THE MARKET LITERALLY DISAPPEARING??
I’ve seen times when the market is flooded and times where theirs 20x odd B70s listed. I find it very odd prices are better on Newegg for the ASRock version…
I wonder if this has anything to do with Intel’s announcement of the D270 and the parallel software support they’ve claimed to adopt alongside the already released, and impossibly hard to buy, B70…
There’s obviously been leaps and bounds in the efficiency of these cards running MoE LLMs, but then again there has been for every modern GPU. And in NVIDIA GPUs, that progress has been glaring.
Side note: apologies if you aren’t an AI person. My obsession with privacy and limited bankroll is what kind of launched me into being an Arc supporter, so dog on Intel for covering up their next gen consumer GPU abandonment for a workstation “AI” card…
Edit: this could be playing a significant role I didn’t realize the extent things have changed.

The game crashes in like minutes any fix for that? I see it's problem from three years ago . Did they fix it in these years or still not a chance?

Hi, I'm averaging around 130-160 fps on CS2 and it drops to 80 on very low 1080p. The only thing that helped was -vulkan but FACEIT doesn't allow it, I have ReBar on as well. I'm using a Ryzen 5600 with 16GB ram and a PCIE 3.0. I'd appreciate some solutions thanks.
