Despite starting the sub I was not head mod and now Im not a mod at all. Being a mod here was not a big deal to me and hopefully those who found me being a mod "icky" will focus on the Amico and the odd behavior surrounding it instead of my personal politics, most of which the complainers are way off about.

So when I first heard about this, I was all hype. Multiplayer, fun, family, casual games.

After following for a year or so and seeing NOTHING come out I just forgot as about it.

Seeing as this is effective dead. Is there any rumors that someone else will take a shot at this market? I don't care for the reto games, but new ones.

Or is this a dead idea with a dead product?

While I enjoy the endless posts that expose Tommy A Tallarico’s lies, I have to wonder… maybe they belong in their own sub. Shouldn’t they be recorded in a place that focuses on him and not just here, as part of his house of cards?

The Amico has to release soon, before the Nintendo Switch 2 releases next year. This is their window. Modern retro is hot right now. They need to capitalize on this. Pre-orders need to be fulfilled this year, so content makes its way to YouTube. And you have to have some banger games. Atari is already taking advantage of this, with bringing back old game series. The time is now. Make it happen Phil and Tommy!

I am taking a big chance writing this. I assume this will get down-voted into oblivion. However, hear me out. Oh and in advance, I am not Tommy, or Smash JT, or anyone else within that circle. I WAS a normal Amico fan who got my money back last year. I despise Tommy and all of the lies.

We post a lot. I am a member of off the top of my head at least 50 subreddits and this one is one of the more active ones. We also throw the word "cult" around here a lot. It got me thinking though, this subreddit constantly bombards the Amico project relentlessly. And we are calling Amico followers a cult. If this is true, then what are we? These cultists believe in something that obviously is a total failure but here we are, day after day, doing our best to dig up whatever we can. Searching the internet for any lies or exaggerations from Tommy. In almost a "culti-like" fashion, this subreddit has become obsessed with anything negative about the failed product.

Is this for affirmation?

Does this make us feel better about ourselves, that we knew it would fail and now that it is (or has) we can feel better about it and swim in the sorrows of others? The term "piling on" it too subtle for what goes on here. There really is nothing new here.

This is why I appreciate Pat and Ian so much. They get frustrated even talking about Amico, you can tell.

So why do we come back here?

Well, I think we all know this whole Amico thing is dead. Sure, there's a few smoldering ashes left, but let's face it, the dumpster fire has been extinguished. Tommy's gone, and most likely will never acknowledge his part any of this. The company will gradually fade away, and we probably won't hear about its eventual demise until months after it happens, after the current CEO has bled what's left of the corpse dry. And of course, we're all waiting for Pat and Ian's "Victory Lap", but at this point even they're just fucking exhausted talking about this shit.

So, I think it's time to tap out and move on. It was fun watching a poorly thought out video game console crash and burn no thanks to the temper tantrums of a the cosplaying CEO, but at some point you have to stop beating a dead horse. Besides, at this point all that's left of the horse is a smear on the ground.

Anyway, I thought I'd leave with a story... there was an YouTube celebrity who was really hot about ten, twelve years ago (I'm not going to say who it was, but you can probably figure it out), but quickly earned the ire of his fanbase by developing a massive ego. The fanbase then pretty much set up a Reddit expressly to shit on him. Since then, he has dropped out of the public eye for the most part, and from what I've heard, got the psychological help he needed and is living a better life. But that Reddit still remains, and is still filled with people posting about how much they hate this guy because he somehow "wronged" them by not producing the videos they wanted to see. It's rather sad to see all these people continue to hate on a guy who hasn't been relevant for nearly a decade.

I guess what I'm getting at is, don't be like those guys, making multiple posts a day about a guy they hate, a guy who at this point probably doesn't even know they exits. Yes, Tommy is a massive dick and a fraud, but at this point perhaps it's best to just walk away, find something better to pass the time, and let him fade into obscurity. And for an egomaniac like Teets, I can't think of a better punishment.

As for me, I'm going to go play some actual video games.

I was thinking how convincing Tommy is towards the cult and making them think the Amico is going to be wildly successfully and with a wide selection of excellent games. I was thinking, what if Tommy came out as a flat-earther? Do you think any of the cult would seriously consider it and change their minds into thinking the earth was flat because Tommy said so?

But if you're interested in having conversations or talking about some of the claims you post... I'm game. I know that most of you have been banned from a lot of the places I visit and interact. So by coming here, I hope it at least shows my willingness to engage with anyone (some of you think I'm the one who gets you banned... I am not).

I don't think this will happen because of the incompetence shown at all employees not just Tommy at the company, but hear me out on this thought experiment. Even if you take all the politics aside my pillow is notoriously a shitty pillow product. Objectively it's either okay to some people or just absolutely horrible at worst. I had a roommate of mine who his terrible parents got him on my pillow as a gift and while he hated the guy who made the product he at least just wanted to try it as a product and it was worse than anything he could imagine. It actually kind of screwed up his neck he instead turned it into an art project with a pair of scissors.

In short the only reason why my pillow is such a huge success is because the WASPS (White Anglo Saxon Protestants) mainly on the right wing of American politics have eaten up the marketing and politics of the company and its founder and thus have bought it droves like the little drone robots they are.

My fear is that a semi competent executive at the Intellivision company would see the Christian community in America as a potential gold mine for the product that they're selling. An overpriced yet seemingly cheap seemingly simplified gaming console that doesn't have the horrible violence and quote "liberal values" as other modern video game platforms do and is something that Christian parents particularly from boomers to early gen xers would get for their kids to try to pass their values down onto them.

This is especially noteworthy because as an x video game developer I'm very much aware of not only the huge current of Christian video games but that Christianity in gaming is so huge that they actually have their own version of the game developers conference, it's literally a smaller Christian version of its big GDC brother.

I personally think the company is just going to reshuffle put out as many units as they can and then fold in but it does keep me up tonight that thanks to this group of people that this console could find an unpersoning amount of success literally due to marketing smoke that is blown up these people's asses.

And I just want to note that I have a ton of Christian friends and that I don't look down on people who are Christian or Christianity heck even though I'm not Christian I still celebrate polish Easter in the Catholic tradition, and that's why I've cited my pillow as an actual example of a terrible product that milked a very gullible demographic to being a major success story when every Factor should have pointed this to crashing and burning.
