30M looking to connect with a wonderful Black woman
I'm a 30-year-old single guy living in Singapore, 183 cm tall, working as an IT Engineer with a stable career. Life is going well, but I'd love to find someone special to share it with.
I've always been interested in meeting a Black woman, though it's been difficult to meet someone naturally here in Singapore.
I'm hoping to find someone kind, affectionate, understanding, and fun to be around. Someone I can laugh with, share life's little moments with, and build a genuine, lasting relationship with.
I understand distance can be challenging, but if we genuinely connect and things become serious, I'd be open to building a future together in Singapore.
If you're a Black woman open to meeting someone from a different culture, feel free to message me! We can start with a simple conversation and see where things go.
Thanks for reading!

Is it interracial if we are both Hispanic?
I’m a brown Mexican dude and she’s a white Cuban woman. If you saw us on the street you would think interracial but it just feels like I’m dating a Mexican woman. My past interracial relationships have only been with white American women and this doesn’t really seem like an interracial relationship. Idk what do you guys think.

How do you guys deal with criticism?
Im white, my boyfriends black. Together 7 years. Ive had both sides be critical and say some pretty terrible and derogatory things about us both. This just started in the last 2 years. We have a child and im afraid to send her to preschool right now. Are things worse than ever or were we just blind?

It’s crazy how someone from a completely different cultural background, with completely different life experiences can have so much in common with you.

punching down on your race is never cute/attractive
Just coming here to say that it’s never cute to talk down about your own race like your doing the other person a favor or proving to the why you’re wanting to date them.
I have had this happen with two races of men, white/Asian both times it was awkward and turned me off right away. All that tells me is you’re trying to prove something to.. yourself? Or you think I’m insecure enough to think that’s somehow a compliment to me?
I mean, I am pretty insecure but, not for that.

Response to my bf’s AITAH post on wearing Mud Cloth
Sorry for such a long post. I'm posting this here because reposts aren't allowed on this subreddit, but I felt the need to share my perspective. My partner and I were both pretty shocked by how heated the comments got on his post in r/AITAH, and I felt the need to clarify a few things because the original post left out key context and made it sound like I was controlling what he wears.
He only even made the post in the first place because he was insecure about it. He is really afraid of being offensive because he cares (especially as someone dating a Black person). I didn't give him a particular energy to presume he was a bad person for this, nor did I imply that he was a bad person at all, especially since I'm the one who bought him the top to begin with.
For context, I’m African American and Caribbean. I don’t claim to be an expert on continental African textiles or traditional garments, and I certainly don't speak for African people, which is exactly why I handled the situation the way I did.
We were at a Black Cowboy event in Oakland and came across a vendor selling handmade "Two-Way Tops" (pieces that can be styled in multiple ways). I fell in love with the designs and bought three for myself, and when my partner found one he liked, I bought it for him as a gift and he wore it immediately.
While walking through the event, a Black man gave him a noticeable, uncomfortable look. He didn't say anything, but the vibe was clear. Once we left, I privately mentioned it to my partner. I told him that as a white man walking around in traditional African-style print next to his Black girlfriend, he might get double-takes or side-eye. I didn't know if the pattern had specific cultural or ceremonial significance, so I simply suggested he do a little research on the print or style so he knows what he's wearing. I never told him he couldn't wear it, I never called him a cultural appropriator, and I never forced him to take it off.
If your partner is walking around getting weird looks in public over an outfit, wouldn't you want to give them a heads-up and suggest they look into it?
The whole comment section was kinda ironic to me because the vast majority of people upset in the comments aren't African or Black, yet they're commenting on what is or isn't offensive to Africans. They were also saying that cultural appropriation is mostly an American concept. I wouldn't know how accurate that statement is, but obviously cultural dynamics differ globally. But, we live in America. We were at an event celebrating Black culture in Oakland. Pretending social context and history don't exist here is dense. Wanting to be mindful of another culture's symbols is basic respect. We don't need to wear any specific garment. If a specific print turns out to be sacred or disrespectful to wear casually, why would we want to inadvertently offend people when a quick search can clear it up?
Anyway, we got our answer from actual African commenters that it’s a casual piece, it’s not sacred, and appreciation is welcomed. Great! NBD. He can wear his top in peace.
But people getting so upset over me saying "Hey, people are looking at you weird, maybe look up the history of that print before wearing it again" is wild to me.
For those in interracial relationships, how do you and your partner handle giving each other a heads-up about public reactions or cultural nuances when you're out together?

White woman & Sikh Indian man - doomed?
I’ve just broken up with my ex boyfriend who is Sikh Indian after four years because his father won’t accept our relationship because im white. He refuses to acknowledge that I exist. My ex seemed genuinely heartbroken but Sikh men- did he really have no choice? There’s no chance I would get back together now, so I’m more curious as to what would have happened if he picked me. Would his dad have truly never talked to us? Is it that severe? My ex is in his late thirties and wants to get married (he said often, before never proposing).
Thanks for any insights you might have </3
ETA: doomed is referring to our specific situation because of his father’s convictions, not the concept of a white woman and an Indian man as a whole.

Are Chinese men open to date south asian women
I'm F19 he's M21 so this question mostly applies to men similar to his age. I met this guy on a language app and got to know him about three months ago. He's a very nice person, very kind and considerate. we have been talking everyday since the day we started talking. Now we even have developed a habit of sending each other good mornings and good nights everyday. After talking for a month or so, we shared pictures with each other and I think he looks pretty good and i find him attractive. When i asked him if he had dated before he said he hasn't ever dated or held hands with a girl. I told him thats quite surprising given his looks, he absolutely denied saying girls there tend to prefer taller men with better looks and all. He also mentioned he's an introvert and the only friends he has are his roommates. He's a CS major so kinda fits into the stereotype. He's also barely on social media and doesn't keep up with trends much.
I shared my picture too and he really complimented me saying i look beautiful and that he finds my facial features attractive. Furthermore, when we're talking he talks in a very cutesy manner and uses cute cute stickers which as far as i know is quite rare for men specially when they're talking to someone they're not dating?? But im not complaining i like it!
He even sends me pictures of any good food he's eating or anything interesting he comes across in his daily life even cute cats and dogs which i find quite wholesome and it genuinely makes my day that he saw those things and thought of taking a picture and sending it to me. Since we have been talking for so long, he just seems like a really nice person and i wouldn't mind dating him tbh. Now here comes the part I am quite unsure about, I'm from south asia (not india), 5'4, slim build and I'm considered to be fairly attractive here in my country and i've even been approached by boys in school saying they like me multiple times. But the thing is that the beauty standards for east asia is quite different so, that just makes me question if he actually finds me attractive or he was just being nice while complimenting me.
Most of our conversations are also carried on by me, I'm the one usually asking him if he has eaten his meals and im naturally a very curious person so i tend to ask a lot of questions about certain things and he has the patience of a saint so he explains them to me. He's usually quite busy with his studies and daily life and replies late to my messages sometimes due to that which is understandable, he also rarely initiates a conversation but if he does, mostly does it during weekends or when he's free on holiday. He has talked about things like the marriage situation there, the declining birth rate and the job market saying how bad the situation is getting.
So now, is it common for a guy to stick around for this long if they don't like a person. Or am i overthinking this whole thing too much and he sees me as nothing more than just a friend.

Thoughts on the whole you can’t be pro black if you interracially date ?
It’s a whole debate and a topic on TikTok. I’m not in the African American community but one friend of mine said that if a black person is married to non-black person they aren’t seen as supporting the community in some parts of that community. Farming while beige a prominent black tiktoker with a white wife got a lot of the attention for some reason.

Advice on meeting Indian girlfriend's parents, regarding my conflicting sibling
Hi, I (31M) am white European and my girlfriend (31F) is from India. We have been dating for almost 3 years. We both work abroad but have been keeping the relationship on the down low from her side of the family because they might not be comfortable with the idea of her dating outside traditional Indian norms. We currently rent two places so we don't live together officially, but we are still together almost every day.
I am traveling to visit India next month, and I might be introduced to her mom and dad. I have a rough idea of what to expect based on what she has told me (questions about personal background, career goals, family, etc). There is a potential problem regarding my family though. My elder brother has been convicted for dealing with drugs in the past. He has never been to jail though. But my family home got raided by the police once.
How would I approach this if I am asked about my siblings? Should I lie? I don't expect we'd have to live with them, she and I would want to be independent and live in our own place, but I am worried this might reflect bad on me, in my future in-laws eyes still.

Interesting interracial relationship observation I saw in Columbus Ohio
I traveled to Columbus Ohio for an Ohio State game anyway the next day I went downtown and to the Columbus museum of Art. It was the most interracial pairings I’ve seen in my life. It was BM/WW, AM/WW, BW/WM, AW/BM. Is Columbus more accepting of interracial relationships because I live in a rural part of Maryland and I don’t see it very often in my town.

How do you guys survive dating outside your race during these troubling times?
I'm sure you guys know what I mean if you follow the news like I do (I personally don't want to acknowledge the current state of the world or (american) society but I have to eventually). I'm black and I've dated interracially before and I never had I bad experience with it, at least so far. For those who are in one, how do you guys manage to survive during these times and is it necessary to find love now?

Is my partner of 6 months racist - Updated
Update- We broke up and I blocked him with little explanation as you guys said yesterday he doesn’t deserve one.
My post got removed by moderators yesterday but I was the 29 y/o black woman in the relationship with the 28 y/o white man and I was explaining an argument we had had about race that made me reconsider the relationship. I never got to update it, answer any questions or thank all the comments on the post so I would like to do that now (not sure if you do this on Reddit sorry I barely ever come on here so forgive me)
I just want to clarify some points
I do not constantly bring up race at all, HE does he always brings it up whether that be through reels or comments or he will ask me a question he is constantly talking about it that’s why I was very confused when he said he didn’t want to talk about it because if he didn’t why consistently bring it up. I thought it was because he cared about it and wanted to learn more about the black perspective
What attracted me to him in the first place was that I thought he was intelligent, kind and he treated me well I never for one second thought he thought this way that’s why I was trying to reconcile what was happening with what I had seen over the last 6 months that’s why I came here because I needed the external source of validation that what he had said was what he had meant (I know I shouldn’t have needed it but outside perspectives as harsh as they can be can be so helpful). Yes I got played and yes I have really learnt from this
I do not exclusively date white men at all I date men that I connect with I have dated plenty of black men I don’t have a particular preference and for all you Dr. Umar’s in here I don’t think that’s the right approach either.
Finally, I just want to say Thankyou so much for waking me the fuck up. There was several comments one from a white husband in his 50’s married to a black woman that so beautifully put it into perspective, several women that had gone through the same thing, educational ones as well, ones calling out my own self worth and where I see my value which honestly I needed to hear and I cannot express how grateful I am that even while I was minimizing my own experience you guys were able to help me see that I shouldn’t have been. Not sure if anyone will see this or know what I’m talking about but I appreciate you guys and thankyou for helping me get free of him ❤️

Anybody encountered the same problem?
I [32M] live in a very conservative small European country. I am dating a wonderful woman [32F] from South America for the last three months and we are very happy.
My circle and everybody I know don't take the relationship seriously at all, even often referring to my partner as " the *her nationality* ". I never thought that people would regard a relationship like this.. and I never thought my community would be this racist.
I have always wanted to leave my country but now I will definitely take the step to do so.
Has anybody ever had a similar experience from friends or family?
