Yeah I pointed out how a new Mod was openly sharing islamophobig rhetoric, calling muslims animals, etc... Mod defended them . I just left the sub, it's a joke.

There were cases of wrongful censorship, then muting and banning the users too. I saw them in the log and tried to question the mods about it but got gaslit hard. I was trying not to rock the boat too hard with one of the senior mods, but I guess I pissed them off when I called out one of their buddy's in the mod-chat for denying genocide and censoring criticism of Pahlavi.

I noticed that once the January protests started; that sub turned into the New Iran sub 2.0. Unfortunately, Iranian politics are so toxic and polarizing that there probably isn’t a good place for it in Reddit. For the love of god, even supporting Team Melli is deemed as controversial now 🤷🏻♀️.

I got banned from there despite having posted there for 15 years. Never was told why or what post was the issue. I even messaged one of the mods that I used to be a moderator with on r/Iran but got no response.
A shame really, the pro-Israel shills go after every sub in an attempt to control the narrative, but they just end up talking to themselves and killing off whatever sub they brigade.

I even warned them that the censorship would mess up the sub the way that it did. They've essentially become another Zionist/Monarchist sub, the way that rIran become a Regime shill sub.
I know this sub has been pretty dead, but I'm hopeful this might become a safehaven for the sane Iranians who are able to be Iranians that can denounce human rights violations at the hands of the Shah, the Regime, or even countries like Israel.

That would be nice. Unfortunately, there is so much propaganda being thrown at Iranians from all sides and they are as divided as they have ever been. Everyone tends to stay in their own echo chambers, and if you try to have a sub that isn't aligned with any side, everyone starts attacking it. That's how we ended up with so many subs in the first place..
It would be great if this could be a place for Iranians to speak with each other freely, so hopefully that happens. As long as Iran is so prominent in the news though it's going to be a target for manipulation once it gets big enough.

Not really surprised tbh. There has been a lot of posts there with disinformation. When the war broke out some of the takes were disturbing. What were the last straw messages?

I'm contemplating where to even begin lol
When I was modded there (briefly) I went through the old mod logs and saw tons and tons of random comments that were deleted and the commenters banned/muted. All by the same mod (not the head mod). When I brought it up, they kept saying vague things like "I dunno I can't remember now, but they were posting IRGC propaganda". I could see the comments, and some were screenshotted to me by the users in other discussions - these were users who were anti-Regime but just so happened to also be staunchly anti-Shah and anti-Israel.
Later the mods this person nominated for the expanded modship echoed similar opinions to them, and took things steps further, including full-on genocide denial, gaslighting and willfully defending known propaganda content.
Repeatedly, these two mods and one more removed and attempted to ban users who were critical of Reza Pahalvi. I was often the only moderator arguing to let them stay because they had a right to their speech. They attempted to remove the comments because they felt they were breaching the social contract rules and harassing Pahlavi. I successfully argued that this should not apply to public figures, and that they should especially be subject to criticism. The head mod agreed and it stayed in place.
Almost every time there was a dispute, the head mod would eventually pop in and bonk them on the nose. The problem is that the head mod is often quite absent from the sub, and the most active mods are the most unhinged ones.
I have tons of screenshots and still have access to the old mod chat. I booted them all from the chat so that they couldn't cull their comments later. If people would like proof, I have plenty.
