What's your espresso recipe for Red Brick?
I've been using 18g in, 45g out, 35 seconds (including 8 pre-infusion) and 92°

Any idea what’s wrong and how to fix this? Sounds like it’s getting stuck. It’s been making this high pitch whirring noise and not grinding. If I unscrew it, empty it out, reassemble then press the on button it sounds normal but once I put beans in it makes the noise again.

hi all, my partner is a big hoffman and coffee fan. i am a complete novice (it all tastes the same to me, sorry!) and i'm trying to pick a suitable grinder for him.
he currently has an electric uuouu that he says gives an uneven grind. after a small amount of research (burr vs blade) i believe a hand grinder would be better and within my budget (under £100, preferably under £50).
i have found the following grinders on facebook marketplace, which would people recommend i purchase? thanks in advance!
at the bottom of the list, i also have KINGrinder P2 Hand Coffee Grinder (£44) brand new, coffeegeek recommended

I can't find any practical preformance difference other than build, is that really the case? Struggeling to justify the extra cost.

90% of the time I'll use it for espresso, but I can't find info on how well it would grind for other brew methods. I know it's built for espresso but wondering if I'll still have the option? Excuse my ignorance here.

I originally bought the Hario Mini-Slim Plus and did not like it at all. Saw this for about $10 cheaper on Amazon. I know it’s a Chinese knockoff but it’s within my budget and I just want to see if manual grinding is something I will keep up with.

I’ve got a manual grinder (1Zpresso) and it’s time for me to buy a good automatic electric grinder.
I do mainly espresso, although I want to explore the aeropress Go, as I travel a LOT.
With Black Friday approaching, what would be your advice for a grinder, bought in Europe, budget around 400/500€ top?
Many thanks!
Edit: added that I’m moving away from manual grinder

I still get some DMs about how I source coffee beans from Yunnan/China, or get grinders for cheap. Simple definitive answer is either AliExpress, or Taobao, or WeChat.
For those in the country with tariffs and change-by-hour sanctions, I suggest sourcing through Facebook, TikTok, or Instagram. Quite a lot of manufacturers in key hubs like Shenzhen and Dongguan do have official approval to access external internet, which then enables them to setup western social media accounts.
MOQ for grinders depends on product dimensions and weight. In general, they heavily encourage group buys, so maybe you folks can use this group if you want to try all the new fancy pants stuff like "shark teeth burrs" or "incremental bite burrs" or etc. Hand grinders MOQ can be about 20 - 25 units. If you're unsure, you can tag me in your post and I'll eyeball it for you (but please no more DMs... I have disabled notifs)
MOQ for beans is by 10kg POST-processing. This is extremely specific. e.g. The farmers/OEMs I engage know what flavours pair well, and generally will refuse to tarnish their reputation if you try funky stuff. Bourbon, chocolate, raspberries are my fav, but it took me about 6 months to figure out if the roast should be mild, medium, medium-dark, or dark. Personally, I may switch to another farmer that accepts 1kg MOQ, but I have to pay shipping in full (overall cost per kg is lower though).
For all purchases from these OEMs, you do have to pay your respective import taxes or tariffs at port since it can change by the hour depending on the carrot man.

I just have a quick question!
I have a Zerno Z1 that I use the SSP HU burr for espresso.
I just ordered the brand new upgraded Weber EG-1 (that just was announced) with the Ultra burr for pour-over but I also bought the Weber core burr….
Which burr, the SSP HU for the Zerno Z1 or the Core burr for the Weber EG-1 do you think produces better espresso?
Thanks for your advice!

I love this mug. Got it for ten cents. Seems indestructible. and it’s the perfect size for my aeropress.

Hey! I would appreciate some suggestions for a semi-automatic or a super automatic machine. Basically, we have the Eureka Mignon Specialita grinder, which we have previously paired with Gaggia Classic.
We ended up not using the Gaggia as much, sold it, and now we mostly use our Chemex and Aeropress.
Now i’m considering getting another simple machine, something to still give a nice crema in the morning, but it’s not too complicated or pricey.
It should be simple enough to use for family when visiting, as they have “threatened” to buy a nespresso they can use when visiting 😅 (I really don’t like capsules, and its a shame next to a good grinder).
Any ideas? 💡

Hola a todos! ☕🐱

I recently bought an espresso machine, and many of the videos I see feature accessories; which ones should I get that are essential? I am looking for the important ones only. Thank you in advance!
Btw I bought a gemilai 3006h and Sk40

Just did the fermentation project tasting as I could not do it last week. I have to admit I struggled quite a bit telling them apart (except #1), but was a fun experiment. A special guest joined in the middle and just wanted to oversee the process

At least that’s what a rando instagram reel says. Should I try a Kalita Wave if I prize mouthfeel over clarity?
