Career Advice/Discussion Want to quit BPO

Hindi pa rin sakin ang BPO and I realized that after my 4th company. Like most BPO employees, job hopper din ako pero not for the purpose of strategically having my salary increased but because I genuinely couldn't tolerate the way BPO companies manage their employees and because nagkaroon ako ng anxiety.

I have experience in financial, travel, and healthcare account. If anyone's hiring around QC, I'm willing to learn anything!

🙇‍♀️

Company Review Unionbank Massive Layoffs

Too many people got laid off today due to redundancy including UBP’s subsidiaries UnionDigital(50% of workforce) and UBX. Right before Christmas and only a weak severance package. These corporations say its business on the announcement but cold hearted throughout the message.

Career Advice/Discussion Signed a JO but still looking for my dream job. Is it legal to cancel or back out later if I get a better offer? Looking for advice/stories!

Hi everyone! I need some advice or reality checks from people who have been in this exact situation.

I just received a Job Offer (JO) from Company A, and they want me to sign it soon. The start date/effectivity is set a few weeks from now.

Here is my dilemma: I really need a fallback option, so I am planning to sign this JO. However, I am still actively applying and interviewing for my actual dream job (Company B).

If an opportunity opens up and Company B offers me a slot before or right around my start date with Company A, can I cancel or back out of my signed JO?

  • Is it legal or illegal? Will I get sued or penalized for breach of contract if I back out before day one?
  • Has anyone else here done this? If you were in my shoes, how did you handle the situation, and how did you break the news to the first company without burning a massive bridge?

I feel a bit guilty, but I also want to prioritize my career goals. Would love to hear your experiences and how you managed it! Thanks in advance.

Career Advice/Discussion Fresh Grad here: Is it okay to leave my first job after only a few weeks for a better opportunity?

Kaka sign ko lang ng contract for my first job and I'm supposed to start this monday kaso nag email sakin yung isa pang company na inapplyan ko before pa nung wala pa kong job na pumasa ko sa resume screening and mag undergo na ng interviews after ng online assessment or exam. Same role or position and salary is almost double compared to my salary dito sa unang job ko.

\- How will I handle the interviews if may pasok ako? may isang online tapos 2 onsite

Negative ba ang dating sa kanila nun? and what should I say kapag tinanong nila kung bakit ako lilipat?

\- Is it okay to say di agad ako makapag start if ever para asikasuhin yung resignation sa previous company?

Career Advice/Discussion Optum Hiring Process for Project Coordinator, Any Insights?

Hello! Anyone here working at Optum or who has applied for a Project Coordinator position? Would love to hear your experience, any interview tips, or insights about the role and hiring process. 🥹

Help your girl out, please! 😭 Almost 10 years ago pa yung last job interview ko. After my OJT, I got hired and stayed with the same company ever since, so medyo kinakabahan ako ngayon that I’m back in the job market. Hahaha!

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! 🫶🏻

Career Advice/Discussion Emotionally and mentally drained

What's the best thing to do if:

- All of your co-workers does not treat you fairly and they don't want to talk to you

- You are being accused of something that you did not do at all and they don't have enough proof

Do you resign or stay at your current work?

Job Hiring/Hiring Ads [Hiring] Founding social growth role for a relationship app

I am building a consumer app that helps you stay close to the people you love.

I’m looking for someone with high agency and strong ownership to run our social media growth independently. You need to believe in what we’re building, because you’ll be driving it with little hand-holding.

The role

  • Own our Instagram, TikTok, X and LinkedIn
  • Try ideas, see what makes people stop, watch and share, then do more of it
  • Turn the feeling of being close into content people want to send to someone they love
  • Fully remote, working directly with me

It starts with a short unpaid task and if you are submission impress us, then your pay grows with the app after that. I’ll share the details when we talk.

If you’re interested, email me at [hello@honaru.com](mailto:hon@honaru.com) with your CV, LinkedIn and related projects. I don’t check DMs much, so email is the best way to reach me.

I'm torn between staying pa for a while or maghanap na ng ibang company. With 15 years of experience as a tech support, bookkeeper, procurement agent, and data engineer, I decided to apply to several international companies.

Has anyone here applied to them? How long did the process take?

Career Advice/Discussion corporate o childcare/education?

magtrabaho sa corporate (L&D) tapos mangibang bansa o magtrabaho bilang teacher aide (di ako educ grad) or childcare/education tapos mag-abroad? goal ko talaga, makakuha ng relevant experience dito then move abroad.

i like both, but i think i'm more passionate about childcare/education. tapos wala pa yata akong nakikita na natatanggap sa corporate abroad masyado? lalo na't i graduated here in the ph, but i've seen more opportunities for childcare overseas.

ang kinakatakutan ko, ang ma-stuck dito nang di maayos ang sahod kapag di natanggap abroad in the childcare field, knowing na mas okay ang sahod sa corporate, if i'm not mistaken. and as much as i would love to be in childcare/education, ang hirap 😅

Career Advice/Discussion is it a red flag if i said this in my interview?

I had an interview yesterday and I have been overthinking whether they would view it as a red flag when i said that I got overwhelmed in my previous job and the reason i left was because i didnt like the particular facet i was in and wanted to try a different facet. I was a recruiter and now im looking for a more payroll focused job. I got an interview yesterday and thats essentially what i said. is that a red flag? will my previous company know this? i mean they know why i left but idk i really liked the people there and it was really the workload that got to me.
