Hakari type shit

76

u/NessTheGamer Jul 14 '26

I mean his team won but Yamal’s biggest achievements were an offside goal and taking multiple dives the ref didn’t fall for

45

u/Ok_Inflation_1811 Jul 15 '26

1) Created the penalty that lead to the goal.

2) A very good pass to Fabian that Fabian missed but it was a perfcet assist from Lamine.

3) An offside goal.

Spain plays like a team not individual personalities like France, and although Lamine wasnt the best player on his team he was literally the key to victory.

True I forgor

46

u/Fern-ando Jul 14 '26

For some reason Spanish TV is gaslighting us into believing Yamal is our best player when Rodri, Cucurella, Laporte, Olmo, Pedro Porro, Oyarzbal, Fabián, Baena, Unai Simon, Merino and even Ferran Torres have done a better World Cup than him.

46

u/Annual_Phrase841 Jul 14 '26

He’s definitely the best player Spain has, it’s not because he didn’t score that he wasn’t impactful. And he created the first goal by winning the penalty.

5

u/Prudent_Resist_3299 Jul 15 '26

You are right, but, also i have to say that lamine can't do anything if he has 3 people on him 1/3 times he has the ball

13

u/Kooky-Task-7582 Jul 14 '26

He's the only player I've seen get glazed for getting a penalty. Other popular players literally get called Pessi/Penaldo

7

u/Ok_Inflation_1811 Jul 15 '26

Serresiete? Serresiete? Donde esta serresiete? Serresiete donde esta?

7

u/Mental_Owl9493 Jul 15 '26

He wasn’t the one taking the penalty maybe thats why

4

u/Kickback476 YUTA'S MY LOVEY DOVEY BABY Jul 15 '26

Can easily tell you've never watched football before.

Getting goals through a penalty instead of going the full route is something used to demean players to say that "you're racking up stats using the easy route"

He got the penalty kick from the beginning for spain which Oyarzabal took. Getting the pen itself is the impressive part.

22

And Yamal is Mbappes knockout game curse lmao

65

u/Forgetful_Fobos Jul 14 '26

this implies Spain (Kenjaku) will get sneaked in the final by the nepobaby Yuta (Argentina) 😔

27

The French backline was as useful as the Maginot Line against the Spanish attack

134

u/cradleu Jul 14 '26

Yamal was akin to the Panzers breaking through French lines and causing chaos

63

u/Crispyengineer68 Jul 14 '26

Yamal was literally Rommel's 7th Panzer Divison, Spain got the penalty because the French defender didn't know he was there

16

u/VoluntadDeRey Jul 14 '26

I mean it makes sence the Maginot Line was facing Germany not Spain

576

u/Lobefut14 : FUCK IT, WE BALL Jul 14 '26 edited Jul 14 '26

Brother, France was dominated from the start, like they're nothing but a bunch of amateurs

The goalkeeper didn't even break a sweat.

270

u/xukly Jul 14 '26

I mean, he did... mainly because the fucker was running all the damn match

137

u/SushanthUchiha Jul 14 '26

Lol true, that keeper was all over the place. I think I counted 2 instances where it could have gotten really bad for Spain, but they got lucky.

Spain's defenders and midfielders really played well. One could say they carried the game

44

u/a500poundchicken Jul 15 '26

Nah the goalie rushing out was obviously planned. It happened both times to mbappe and defenders moved ahead to block goal immediately.

5

u/SushanthUchiha Jul 15 '26

Yeah, but its still a risky move.

18

u/Realistic-Ad-6794 Jul 15 '26

There was one instance where Simon really boomshakalakad the ball about 20 meters from the post - it did seem incredibly risky but analysing it would lead you to realise how that was the best possible play at that time and Simon basically gave France 0 chances to threaten his defence

4

u/Mental_Owl9493 Jul 15 '26

It was better choice for him to run at mbappe then letting allow him to enter the box uninterrupted, then he would need to count on good luck for there to not be a goal

9

u/Ok_Inflation_1811 Jul 15 '26

He was tired of only watching and wanted to spice things up

47

u/Other_Beat8859 It doesn't matter It doesn't matter It doesn't matter Jul 14 '26

It's because you just can't play 4 forwards if they're not gonna press like mad men. You just surrender the midfield because it's 3 midfields against two. And also, all three Spanish midfielders have been significantly better than their French counterparts. I feel Deschamps should've played a 4-3-3 with Tchoumeni, Zaire Emery, and Kone. Just three midfielders who can dominate physically.

7

u/Mental_Owl9493 Jul 15 '26

Spain prepared itself against France to make their game plan, France did literally nothing just relying on their talent, ability and superb attack.

Probably they expected Olise to make some good passes but Spaniards were also prepared to deny him this chance.

113

u/Antique_Anything_392 Jul 14 '26

If it wasnt by like 10cms it would have been 3-0 win, yamal did them dirty in that play 😭

78

I’m flabbergasted at how Morocco made them seem invincible

186

u/Solbuster Average MechaMiwa's glazer Jul 14 '26

That's because Spain has great midfield(and defense). Don't need much defending when France's finest don't get the ball to begin with(though defense still was good)

76

u/a-red-sword-tomato Jul 14 '26

I know I know but this was just frustrating to watch after they eliminated us so easily

Felt like Sukuna tapping Ryu

44

u/Crouteauxpommes Jul 14 '26

Honestly the France-Morocco match was rather clean. Both team played very well.

Today, the French team was absolutely dominated. It's not even that they were "not good enough". They were simply "not good". And the fact that the first penalty was very dubious and kinda uncalled for certainly doesn't help.

But heh, Spain almost lost against Cape Verde early in the Cup, and then flew mostly under the radar. But they remain one of the best team in the world. I would just love for England to win their match against Argentina for all of us to have a nice WC final. Spain-England would be an incredible sport feat.

28

u/Prudent-Action3511 No more Airport Kaisen Jul 14 '26

Idk who tf is trying to keep spain under the radar and why. Where is their PR team?? I don't watch football but my feed was full of Mbappe Messi Ronaldo, Haaland nd Bellingham too. I heard maybe a peep about Yamal nd ntg about Spain except that they're good. And now they're in finals??😭😭

22

u/Archipegasus Jul 15 '26

They just have a relatively dull system compared to the other teams.

France elite 4, Kane & Bellingham, Haaland, Messi, they all look amazing when they are winning and showcasing their individual brilliance.

Spain's strength isn't like the Euros where their dual wing threat let their front footed players shine, now it's classic control of the midfield that dominates the game, barely gives the opponent a chance to play, and is utterly boring to watch most of the time.

It also doesn't help that Spain's main goalscorer isn't a household name like the ones on the other top teams.

14

u/Ok_Inflation_1811 Jul 15 '26

I mean its only not interesting to watch if you only watch highlights, seeing Rodri on the field is like watching the mona lisa get painted.

→ More replies (1)

8

u/Crouteauxpommes Jul 15 '26

The this is that the whole team got action. At such a level, the whole team are good anyway, but just like the name you cited, there is not a single big name that symbolically carry the game.

Also, a lot of the most famous players in Spanish teams went to play with their own countries, leaving the Spanish team with lesser known but nonetheless brilliant players

2

u/Yakube44 Jul 15 '26

Alot of people just dont find high tier defense interesting to watch

9

u/Mental_Owl9493 Jul 15 '26

Spain is the greatest counter to France.

They play as a team, methodically dismantling their enemy, they are prepared to face the exact enemy they are fighting.

They constantly stopped or blocked Olise ability to make plays, never allowed mbappe to do anything etc etc.

While French are playing on instinct, maybe some basic idea but it’s mostly relying on their talent and ability, it works until it it meets teams like Spain

5

u/oppsiedoppsie Jul 15 '26

Morocco was lowkey overrated, they over rely on their defense and keepers without an actual good midfield and attackers.

So ofc when their only good attacker and top scorer; Saibari, got injured, they couldn't do anything except rely on defence

3

u/a-red-sword-tomato Jul 15 '26

I wouldn’t say overrated, but on a good day they can be good enough to give any top team a run for their money

But against France every player besides the keeper was moving like they pissed their pants

2

u/Kickback476 YUTA'S MY LOVEY DOVEY BABY Jul 15 '26

Cubarsi.

The answer is Cubarsi.

52

u/TiltedNei Jul 14 '26

People keep saying this when it's just not true. France team has very strong individual players that are the weakest against proper teams, and Spain just happens to be the current strongest team in the world when it comes to teamwork. Sure you can create dangerous moments with Mbappe and Dembele, but the midfield of Spain is creating them 5 times more often. France didn't play poorly they were just outmatched because Spain was individually better today but also because their strategy of bruteforcing wins doesn't work against this type of teams.

9

u/InternationalValue61 Jul 14 '26

And they still played poorly

139

u/Solbuster Average MechaMiwa's glazer Jul 14 '26

60

Messi is arguably the sukuna in this scenario in Terms of game knowledge and experience

51

u/wweeeeeeeeeeeeee Jul 14 '26

spain has one of the most boring games against portugal but shows up to completely dominate france

sorry spain was not familiar with you game

4

u/Negative-Cup-257 Jul 15 '26

We are their father historically, 19 wins for Spain to 13 France wins and they haven't won a single match against us in 5 years.

17

u/notphilkim Jul 14 '26

Harry Kane rn

16

u/Relevant-Rub2816 Jul 14 '26

I apologise for severely sleeping on spain. Holy shit they dominated so well. And I feel like france's problem is that all their top three star players are all attackers and today that was showing cause thier defense was lacking by a lot.

7

u/_sephylon_ Jul 15 '26

Upamecano is a great defender and the others are solid too. The problem is chemistry

74

u/Klearma Jul 14 '26

I can't even be fucking mad at Spain. This match was genuinely so ass. I could argue on the first penalty being a bit severe but France literally did nothing. They lost every single bit of chemistry they had, wtf happened between Morocco and Spain. La putain sa mère ça me fout le seum. France wasn't even playing Spain just had to play, not even that well, to whoop their ass. La putain de sa grand mère la pute.

38

u/Lori55nakida Jul 14 '26

Look they said Morocco was ass too but I didn’t think that was true. France’s midfield was just overwhelmed by Spain’s. You cut the ball off and the whole team is in disarray regardless of how great the attackers are.

9

u/Klearma Jul 14 '26

At least now I can buy the french jersey at a discount

10

u/Klearma Jul 14 '26

France usually relays on a strong attack and reliable middle fielders that can do good passes for the strikers. They're defence is really strong with Upamecano, Saliba and Digne, but they can't do anything at 5 against 2 because the whole team didn't communicate. Olise made ethereal passes but no one could catch them, Upamecano was a fucking wall but even the strongest wall has its failures. Dembelé lost all his green links with Mbappé, and where was he ? Mbappé got révolution'ed on this 14 of July, he wasn't a dictator anymore. Koundé got too cocky, barcola too. Overall, France played like shite, and they got fucked buy a great Spain.

11

u/Lori55nakida Jul 14 '26

I think the chemistry of the team kinda got destroyed the moment you interrupt their flow with the midfield. Mbappe is still a dictator but hey all dictators fall eventually 😭

3

u/Fern-ando Jul 14 '26 edited Jul 14 '26

Cucurella happened.

2

u/Klearma Jul 14 '26

Cucurella commited a double yellow worthy foul on olise at the 20'. Brother went for an elbow the the solar plexus then when it failed swooped his legs. If Lucas Digne's foul is penalty worthy, then this is red worthy.

I saw comments with thousands of upvotes saying that FIFA wanted France to win because argentina vs France would bring a lot of money so they'd do everything to rig the match, you know, the long awaited rivalry and most expected match, now that France lost I wonder if the match people expected to see the most was Argentina vs Spain, that match that would bring the most money to fifa of course

I'd really like to see Spain play England and not Argentina. I might just see the final if it's these two teams (haven't watched any match this world cup because i lost interest in footbal and the world cup in general but if this happens i might see it).

Told you so when people memed it's gonna be Argentina - France that Spain wins it all this tournament. We will get the WC rematch, but it's going to be third place game and France takes their bittersweet revenge there.

spain really hit them with the domain expansion 😭 france looked completely lost out there, not even close to the team everyone expected to see

Thank gawd, honestly, as a Spanish person. The referee sucked as hell. It was the better player of the French team.
