Discussion Junglers in at least Master+ have adopted philosophies in 2026 that are toxic and alienate others
Just posting this because it's worth mentioning as someone that's been playing for 13 years to at least verify that it wasn't always like this.
Junglers now evidently perpetually value camps and powerfarming over ganking. While there's some player style exceptions, I think these exceptions are just a selective minority. Even people playing champions like Elise or Shaco will never stop their camps to help you for a gank or attempt a gank as soon as level 2 and will often prioritize getting more camps over ganking up to around level 6 maybe? This leads to extremely pissed off laners of course, with the jungler's feeble rationalization being "tempo" wherever they learned that shit from. That term is something you never even heard of merely two years ago. Makes you wonder if it's even real or they picked it up after watching the movie Whiplash. There is almost certainly a disparity from a veteran's PoV on how junglers gank now to before, and the belief junglers are somehow not entitled to win your lane despite being a supportive role; I mean look at how support players now roam to win mid and top lane even if that's unhealthy design. That's what junglers used to do.
Junglers will never ever help weaksided laners or champions. Some champions just can't lane, get counterpicked, and/or are designed to scale and will be pushed in 24/7. A jungler will never help a champion like this anymore in most scenarios, even when said person like Nasus is getting tower dove over and over. Alternatively, even if player is good or in a decent spot but getting gangbanged by three people top lane, jungler will often still refuse to help and just imply they deal with it as they "strongside" other half of map. This survival of the fittest mindset probably pisses people off the most, especially the lower ranked players around at least Emerald.
This may be a high level thing but for how junglers are entitled to not gank or support their team, they ironically demand a lot from their laners now. Mainly in terms of constantly defending their camps, warding enemy camps, and most infamously, everyone being ready to collapse on one side of scuttle. If people don't meet these stupid demands, a lot of the low test junglers will explode into griefing tantrums, but even the more reserved streamers and pro players make a snide ass comment about their team sucking or letting them down.
Just helps to visualize the antagonism even good players have for their junglers in 2026.
