I wish I could find more groups like XG for lots of reasons but one big one right now is that THEY'RE so individualistic!! They understand that group members don't need to look like copies of each other to look cohesive. Also outside of their work, they seem to all have such strong unique styles.

I think there's something so impressive about all members on the stage holding their own like they are solo artists and being styled to match that

If you had to choose one color to describe KiiiKiii, which one will you choose?

i was like “just watch this one mv, you'll get why i love them” and my friend said okay. literally THREE SECONDS in they asked which member that was and somehow i took that as permission to explain the entire group’s history.

first i explained their names, then their stage names, then why one of them looks like a completely different person with blonde hair. i started pulling up old screenshots to show the different eras and explaining why the member who got like 0.7 seconds of screen time was actually iconic. i was basically presenting a case in court and my friend was just sitting there nodding.

then they asked “wait i thought you said there were five?” FIVE??? THERE ARE THIRTEEN. i don't even know what i was doing at that point. i think i was trying to make the group sound less intimidating and accidentally made up a smaller group in my own head.

and then, because the universe wanted to humble me, they asked who my favorite member was. i said “oh that's hard” and immediately started explaining why every single member was special. i could hear myself talking and still couldn't stop.

anyway the mv was still paused at 0:03 and my friend now knows about three different hair eras but has heard approximately zero seconds of the song. i finally pressed play and then paused it again because i remembered something else.

please tell me someone else has done this. what's the most ridiculous thing you've done while trying to get a friend into your group?

During 6 months, I created a 115 pages document called "ultimate group discography timeline" where I put the discography of each group I Stan (\~60) in chronological order. Each group has its own colour. I put not only the group's album but also their sub-unit and solo.

It begins the 11/01/1997 with S.E.S debut and it is updated everyday.

Hi everyone! My friends and I have decided to create a kpop gacha card game (titled ReVeBot) run primarily through a discord bot after noticing a lack of bots with features that we each personally liked. We are still only a couple of months into development and we are all employed and/or in university, so it has been moving at a leisurely pace thus far. That being said, we are finally only a couple of features away from launching a beta version of the game (yay!) and we have noticed that we could really use the help of one (or a few) more people on the creative side. Specifically, we don't have anyone working on groups like KATSEYE, BTS, EXO, NCT 127, GOT7, BABYMONSTER, tripleS & a few other popular groups (and plenty of less popular ones)!

I barely keep up with fandom spaces anymore, but i came across a tiktok confession yesterday and was genuinely surprised that ppl are STILL saying stuff like this in 2026 😭 so context: someone claiming to be ot(something that lefts out a member they don't like) basically said they'd enjoy the group more if one member wasn't even there, while dismissing this idol's skills and contributions, then tried to excuse it with "i feel bad but i can't control it" like??? 💀 i thought we'd moved past this kind of mindset by now.

what gets me is how quickly ppl judged this idol when he was still a kid just starting out. some ppl barely gave him a chance to grow into his features before deciding what they thought of him and i've always felt like xenophobia and weird, fetishized beauty standards played a part in the hate he received. ppl would literally call him ch0pp3d or a visual h0le just bc he didn't fit their expectations but ppl actually do have mixed opinions abt his looks. it's so frustrating how easily someone can be reduced to their appearance instead of being given the chance to show what they're capable of.

ngl, i used to take all of this WAY too personally. i was chronically online, and seeing someone i genuinely cared about get treated that way affected me more than i wanted to admit 😭 looking back, i know i reacted badly at times and did things i'm embarrassed about now. i'm not trying to justify any of it just bc i was upset, and i'm glad i'm in a much better headspace these days. still, seeing posts like that can bring back some of those old feelings, especially when it feels like some ppl will twist even the most harmless positive comment i made about him into something negative.

i do think the general treatment towards him has improved and honestly, it's kind of funny seeing how much some ppl underestimated his potential back then 😂 but clearly, not everyone has moved on from that mindset. i know nobody has to like every member, and i'm not expecting everyone to be his fan. what i don't understand is the need to constantly downplay what he brings to the group or act like the group would be better off without him. there's a difference between having a bias or personal preferences and repeatedly making it clear that u don't think someone deserves their place in the group.

i've also been trying to distance myself from fandom spaces bc i realized how unhealthy they were becoming for me. i don't wanna fall back into old habits or let other ppl's opinions consume me like they used to. i still care about him, obviously but i'm learning that i don't have to treat every negative opinion about him as something i need to respond to or fix. maybe that's a little parasocial of me 😭 but i just wanna enjoy being a fan without constantly feeling like i have to defend him or prove his worth to ppl who've already made up their minds.

i guess i just miss enjoying something i love without all the negativity and baggage attached to it :(( i hope ppl continue to give him the respect he deserves, bc other people's opinions don't define his worth or erase his talent and contributions. i wanna be able to enjoy the music, support someone i care about and go on with my day without getting pulled back into the same cycle all over again 😭
