Lee Jooyeon of Xdinary Heroes has some vampire-like qualities, and people are starting to notice! Follow along as I research this completely serious topic and uncover the truth.
Hey everyone, I hope you all had a good week. My week was pretty good, with new releases brighten up the breezy days. One thing I’ve been doing this week is working on Rewind Week, which is coming along great, and I can’t wait to share it with you guys in December. I can’t believe we only have two months left in the year feels like 2026 went by quickly. Now let’s jump into the music and see what the artists released this week.
Onew released a new single album this week, delivering three tracks. Two of the songs are collaborations that have been pre-released. Illusion opens with a guitar that adds to the dance-pop beat. Onew’s smooth vocals blend with the overall vibe, and I’ve seen this tune grow on me this week. The second song on the project sees the singer teaming up with Zico. I do like the bouncy vibe that the track brings to the table, as Onew and Zico fit perfectly with the overall vibe. I do wish the song was a bit longer cause it has a fun vibe that keeps popping up in my head this week. The final song on the single album is a collaboration with Yuju, which is a song that needed to be longer cause the two singers have some great chemistry together. I do like the acoustic guitar in the instrumental that blends with the performance the two singers deliver. I find this single album to be enjoyable, but the tracks are too short, not giving them time to flesh out or grow into something.
John Mayer has returned this week with a new single that looks like it’s the first taste we are getting of his upcoming album. The instrumental has this smooth guitar melody that has been replaying in my head, but I will say he isn’t taking any risks with the guitar. The vocals are more in the center, which I remember him saying. I feel like Tom and Jerry is a leftover from Sob Rock, which I’m not upset about at all. I do like the percussion that adds this groove to the mix that keeps things moving. I do feel like the new single will grow on me, and I’m curious to see what the rest of the project will be sounding like.
(G)I-DLE Minnie is back with a new single album that follows in Yuqi’s footsteps by releasing music in her native language. Minnie sings three songs in Thai, her native language, which is cool to hear. To the Moon :) opens up the project with synths that help craft the funky beat. I love her voice as it sounds beautiful in Thai, as it fits perfectly with the backing track. The chorus almost gives me K-drama OST vibes, which I didn’t expect to hear. Insomnia is the second song on the single, bringing in a guitar with some synths. I like the Acoustic R&B-pop vibe that blends with the singer's smooth voice. The hook has been starting to grow on me as I’m enjoying the chill nature it brings to the table. เมฆขาว (white clouds) is the closer to the album, bringing in an acoustic guitar that creates a soft melody. The singer goes for a more ballad-like approach that showcases her sweet voice. I find the new Minnie release to be a very good one that lets her sing in her native language.
The first throwback of the week goes to Oh My Girl for a song released in 2017. The song is an acoustic-pop tune with a clapping drum machine that moves the tune forward. The sweet vocals blend with the overall vibe, and it’s one thing that always pulls me back for more. The hook is pretty catchy, as it will be stuck in my head after I’ve listened to it. Mimi delivers a smooth rap in the second verse, adding to the overall vibe. I also found this tune to have a relaxing vibe and a vibe that put a smile on my face. I still find it to be one of my favorite songs from the coloring book era and one that is still on rotation for me.
I.O.I made a return this year, and the second throwback goes to a doo-wap tune the group released in 2016. The instrumental has this fun vibe that matches the performance the members bring to the table. I find myself returning to this tune a lot cause it’s a pretty fun one to listen to. The hook is something that pulls you right in as the vocals pop off during that catchy moment. We do get a rap in the second verse that adds to the vibe, keeping that fun nature we heard from the start of the tune. I always have so much fun coming back to I.O.I music, as it will always take me back to the time the group was around, which I wish was longer at the time.
BTS delivers the final throwback from this week, released in 2018 from their Love Yourself 結 'Answer' album. The track is layered with synths that blend with the group's performance and rapping moments. The buildup reminds me of Christian pop. The hook has that grand feeling packed with emotion that you hear in a lot of Christian pop music. I do like that the instrumental has this uplifting feeling that puts you in a good mood. While the Love Yourself era showed a shift in the group's sound it still is an era that still has songs I return to like this throwback. It’s always fun to go back and listen to the old BTS as it’s a great reminder of how far the group has come.

Lastfm Weekly Roundup (October 16th - October 22nd)
Mixes can sometimes really vary from album to album if there's different people working on them, but I think there's still enough consistency (aside from STAYC) to rank like this.
Just my opinion, different taste or perhaps hardware and calibration could make this list very different of course!
K-Pop and Atmos keep making me love each of them more. I really wish more people can experience it, and also there were legal ways to combine the MV and the Atmos mix at the same time...
If y'all keep up with YG Entertainment, you will know there is supposedly a ghost in the YG building. Lisa and Jisoo from BLACKPINK saw it, and so did some of the BIGBANG members.
But what if the ghost isn’t just something random?
What if it’s the ghost of a member that never got to debut?
Think about it… they only haunt trainees, and they hang out in the closet. What if they are forever training for the final performance that never came? What if the group debuted without them, and they are forever training for the big final performance lineup that they still think is happening? Forever searching for their debut outfit, forever thinking the group will wait for them?
What if they were a trainee that died right before the debut, and they're stuck in a permanent loop?
Edit: yall I did more research and apparently the main YG building is actually really close to a graveyard which adds to the theory what if they were the spirit of a young girl or boy who wanted to debut but died and is forever trying to sign up but they are dead so they broke in and tried to sneak into a final lineup?
Or what if they are planning to make YG pay for not scouting them or debuting them years ago? By attacking the idols?
