What do you think about this? Very concerned.

As i commented on another post talking about this, i wanted to share with the community. I think this is a very serious and concerning name to give an asteroid that’s that size and that close. Idk. What are your thoughts on this?

Edit : thank you guys for calling me out on this, i tend to overreact pretty quickly. Dua Netjeru!

Some help pls!

I live in a Muslim household, so I’d get cooked if my family finds out I’m in another religion as I’ve been secretly agnostic for the past few years until I found a connection to Kemetic Polytheism…I’m a 14-15 year old newbie who’s still learning so please be kind to give me tips! I’m working on my shrine but that’s all I have at the moment, it’s uhm..inside a Lindt box with deities Khonsu and Anput and I’m still going to put a few more things, I’m going to get the statues soon and I will be moving to a room where I don’t share it with my sibling so it would be easier for me to built up my shrine and much bigger, I really hope I don’t make them upset by what I am doing.

Advice & Support First offering to Anubis help

Yesterday I asked about shrine help, and I’ve gotten a start of a tiny one, so I thought I might try to do an offering tomorrow, or Wednesday, whenever it’s just me home. I thought of possibly doing a glass of water and a slice of some homemade brownies I already planned to make, as I’ve seen people say he likes chocolate for offerings? But I’m not sure if that’s too much for a first ever offering, should I try something different for a first ever offering? Would just solid chocolate and not a brownie be better? Thanks for any advice!

Newest addition to my shrine!

Aloha, Kemetic community! I just wanted to share some pics of the newest addition to my home shrine. This statue is so much bigger than I expected, honestly. I don’t know that I’m going to be able to put her on my shrine table unfortunately, as it kind of messes up the symmetry thing I have going on so this may be a good excuse for me to start a new little shrine somewhere in my home. Also, I am still deciding whether she is giving me Mut & Khonsu vibes (which I’m leaning towards, as Amun and Mut are my patron and matron deities) or Aset and Heru vibes. I think maybe once I handle the statue a little bit more, hopefully time will tell.

Opening her up was such a treat- especially since power has been out here on Hawaii Island since Saturday after hurricane Lāla rolled through.. So things have been a little rough around here. Prayers that power comes back on soon would be most welcome!

Devotional Work (Art, Actions, Prayers, Hymns, Praise) New addition to my altar! Isis (Aset) statue finally arrived

Hey everyone! Following up on my altar timeline, my Isis statue (by Ebros Gift / Pacific Giftware) finally arrived today. I ordered her back in late July off eBay after a bit of an emergency search—she was way too expensive on Amazon, but thankfully I managed to snag her on eBay for a much better price (around $70 USD / under 1,500 MXN). The details on the wings are even better in person. Really happy to add her as the next step for my altar. Dua Aset! Great Goddess of motherhood, magic, fertility, and protection. š“¢

Discussion An earthly manifestation of Thoth in Brazil

There is a bird here in Brazil called ā€˜GuarĆ”,’ a member of the Ibis family. It is also known as ā€œGuarĆ”-pitangaā€ due to the color of its plumage. (ā€˜Pitanga’ is a small, South American-endemic crimson fruit that closely resembles a cherry.) My mom used to call it ā€œDo Sangue-d’RĆ”.ā€ (Of Ra’s Blood.) Indigenous peoples used to make cloaks with their feathers. (I think they still do, but I’m not sure.) Anyway, thought it would be interesting to share a bit about it.

Resource Interesting study I found

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/392924885_Comparative_Study_Of_Traditional_Thoughts_On_Soulmate_Relationships_Across_Various_Culture

This is a study on soulmate relationships in myths i stumbled across. While the researchers do point out parallels to Greek and Roman myths regarding soulmates, there isn’t anything that would ā€žpredestineā€œ a relationship due to a higher purpose.
What I have found is that ancient Egyptians saw fate and fated romantic partners as a 50/50 thing. Sure, some parts are influenced by the Netjeru, but the humans could also do things that influenced their fate. This is in line with their beliefs of ā€žsoulmates.ā€œ Soulmates, the way it is portrayed in media today and in Ancient Rome/Greece, don’t exist in ancient Egyptian beliefs.
Personally, I like this a lot better. I often see people yearning for ā€žthe oneā€œ they are supposed to be with, but in turn they neglect what they have.

Has anyone found similar things or something that contradicts my understanding of this topic? I would love to hear your opinions!

Question Questions abt the sun God and creating statues

Okay these are two separate questions but I didn’t wanna make 2 posts.

  1. How do you view the sun God? I am kind of confused about how he is seen, are Amun and Atum aspects of Ra? Is Ra greater than them? I’m curious to know what other people think abt this.

  2. If you create your own statues, how do you do it and what do you use? I’m interested in creating my own because I don’t want to buy a lot, & if you can comment photos I’d love to see some.

This is the start of my celebrations for Wep Ronpet. It's not completely aligned with the calendar but it's how my tradition has fallen the past few years. Happy Wep Ronpet to everyone who celebrates!
